mars paintingPersonally, my Mars is broken in Libra. Mars shows how you get what you want. It shows how you hunt, how you get the man/woman and also how you take out an enemy. The problem with Mars in Libra is that Libra is nice. Libra is not actually any nicer than anyone else but they do have to act as if they are. This is their job on the planet.

This means I may want to kick your ass or hit you with a bat but the second I think it I realize that these are not “nice” things to do. Since I’m not allowed to disturb the peace, that plate does not crash down on top of your head – which believe me I regret.

zodiac mapAbout half the people who answered the blooming poll stated they thrived wherever they were planted. And when I posted that I was thinking this was a desirable trait, but after reading the many thoughtful and eye-opening comments I am not so sure it’s that clear cut.

See, I was thinking along the lines of the ‘resilient child” they speak of in psychology circles today. It’s the child who inexplicably thrives in spite of whatever horrible conditions or abuse they may endure at home. There are a certain percentage of children like this and through study they’ve come up with a set of characteristics these children seem to have in common.

And some suggest you try to cultivate the traits of these children in your not-so-resilient child which seems interesting to me. And I thought it was a pretty good idea when I read about this a couple years ago. But after the comments… well they changed my mind. Maybe people are fine just exactly as they are and since I have Libra, I am sure I could argue either way!

So I don’t know if being a bloomer is “elevated” or not, but I do know I have thought of the resilient child thing in terms of astrology.

For example, Mars is exalted in Capricorn. It’s the best Mars in the zodiac. So what if you have a Mars jacked up like I do? Is it possible for someone like me to pretend I have a Capricorn Mars? Could I ask myself, “What would Mars in Capricorn do?” and then act in this manner? I think so.

And I think this is one of the bomb things about this blog by the way. There is a diverse group here, who speak up and consequently there is great opportunity for someone to learn a new way of being or thinking if they’re so inclined.

So what do you think?

Boyfriend Fighting for Custody – Venus in Pisces

December 13th, 2005 @ 4:44 am by Elsa

Dear Elsa,

My boyfriend has a daughter and is going through a custody battle.

We’ve been together for nearly three years and because of his ex, I still haven’t met his daughter. I don’t think I want to ever have children. Is it possible the love we have for each other will be enough, if one day I take on the step-mom role?

Sign me,
His Girlfriend

Dear Girlfriend,

pisces dishIt’s hard for me to judge since I don’t know the nature and the quality of the love you have for your man. But of course it’s possible. And I think you are right to be considering this, because if he’s going to all the trouble and expense and angst to fight for his rights… well his daughter is way WAY up there as a priority in his life.

Now because his ex has successfully kept you out of this equation, I am afraid you may have the illusion you are your boyfriend’s #1 girl. You are his Queen, because you have yet to see your man DOTE on his daughter. You may like it this way, and this is not a criticism. Who wouldn’t like it that way? I’m just trying to clarify this for you.

See, you have never had to share him, or step aside. I assume he goes to see her, and you have to step aside for that – but I’m talking about her being in the room and having priority over you.

And you might want to think about that. Because if he gets custody, making space for her will be your new job in life. Seriously! Because children come first.

You didn’t say how old his daughter was… but with most kids, you can’t stick them in the closet when you want time alone with your man. You have to deal with them constantly and this requires a degree of maturity.

So can you do it? You can if you want to, because you’ve got the goods. Just fire up your Venus (exalted) in Pisces. Pisces love is like fog. Throw your dreamy love around him and it’ll be hard to not to love her too, when she’s standing right next to him.

Good luck.

Venus Exalted in Pisces

September 29th, 2005 @ 4:17 am by Elsa

Hi Elsa,

I’m kind of lost in my life. I’m very good at what I do, but I’ve never had much confidence with relationships. Can you tell me if I’ll ever find that woman that I am searching for? Sometimes I feel like no one fits my requirements.

Help!
Lost

ps Thank you so much for this site. This world need more people like you to help us to see through the darkness of our daily lives.

pisces necklaceDear Lost,

Your chart made me cry. It’s that beautiful. It’s soulful like a poet and we (the collective) have got to get you a partner! Now I’m going to write this in somewhat nebulous astrology and hopefully get it by my editor. This is the deal:

You have Venus in Pisces, which is its exalted position. It’s the best Venus you can buy. It means you can love and love and love, without boundaries. There are no rules to your love. There are no edges. It just goes out there, like music and I’ll explain.

There is a venue here locally where musicians play. They only open this place in the summer because it’s cold here and the place is akin to a shack. By that, I mean it’s a wooden building but there are holes clean through – spaces between the slats, where you can see in… and the music inside can get out.

So picture this: there’s a musician on stage, and people inside who have paid to see them. But people can sit out on the grass around the building and hear the music just fine. And they can peek in, too. And this is my point.

Your love is like this music. It is not contained. It’s leaking out at all times, going out in the world. It is enhancing the world. And I’m telling you this because I think it may be unbeknownst to you. And if I’m right about that, then you have little clue who you are. And if you have little clue who you are, you are going to be a little less lost.

::smiles::

Now I hope this helps. And I can tell you for sure, more help is on the way. Because Uranus is set to transit your seventh house (relationships) and I promise you, it will revolutionize the way you relate to others. And since Uranus is all about humanity, I’m going to ask everyone who reads this to put a wish out there for you today that you find the love you need.

And one more thing. Thank you for your comment about my blog. I appreciate it very much. Generally, I would edit something like that out but I chose to leave it, because I think it reflects more on you than it does on me.

Good luck and much love to you.

Wants A Man – Mars in Capricorn

August 13th, 2005 @ 4:30 am by Elsa

Hi Elsa,

Since I got divorced 8 years ago, I’ve not had one prospect of a boyfriend.

For some reason I just don’t attract men. I’m intelligent – and not fat, or ugly as sin. I am so lonely. I’m tired of being alone. What can I do to show men that I’m available?

Signed,
Lonely

mars blackDear Lonely,

Okay, this boggles my mind. I looked at your chart expecting to see God knows what that might explain this. But it’s just not there. On the contrary, it looks to me like you should have prospects coming out your ears!

So the only clue here is this: “What can I do to show men I am available?” You aren’t wearing your wedding ring are you? ::ducks:: Just kidding!

My advice is to fire up your Mars!!! Mars in a chart shows how you get what you want. You have Mars in Capricorn which happens to be its exalted position. This is the best Mars you can buy!

You know why? It’s because once Capricorn focuses on a goal, there is no stopping them. Knocked around a bit? No problem. Bleeding? So what. Once focused, you will persevere… so I’m going to suggest you make it your job to hunt down a man.

I strongly recommend Match.com or the like. How better to let prospects know you are available, huh? And it’s a very “Capricorn” method. The reason is because it’s like interviewing candidates to fill a slot. And I don’t care how that sounds. I highly suggest you approach it just like that and you’ll be fine because you have other components in your chart – all of them firing.

For example, you have Virgo so you can discriminate. You have a Scorpio Moon so you can feel things out. So here’s the plan (a Capricorn word):

Mars places the ad. Virgo sorts and categorizes the prospects. Scorpio gut-checks. And check your crotch as well. Make sure there’s a sexual pull, eh?

::laughs::

I swear this will work. Good luck!
