Intro to Chart Reading – Beginners Workshop Series

February 11th, 2011 @ 11:25 am by Nota

In Review – Brush Up on Your Skills.

Satori and I are starting another class in the Colosseum. That’s the private message board that we use for workshops, special events and such.

This one is going to be a 3 month extravaganza of chart reading as each chart is treated as a performance piece with the owner as the star. Chart submission is voluntary but totally worth it.

You not only get a reading from one of us, but the chart will be open to members of the class for comments. In the end you get a full spectrum of readings from multiple perspectives. Plus you get to give your opinions of other charts in the class as well.

Just so we’re all on our game, I’m posting a Review of our Intro to Chart Reading Workshop. This will give you an idea of what we like to do while you brush up on your skills.

1. The Sun

2. The Moon.

3. The Ascendant.

4. Elements.

5. Qualities (or Modes)

6. Degrees.

7. Aspects.

8. Aspects continued – Sun meets moon.

9. Rising Planets.

10. Putting it all Together.

Elementary, My Dear

The signs can be divided into Triplicities, that’s groups of three, also known as Elements

Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn make up the earth signs.

Earth is palpable. It is the stuff of physical form. People with a lot of earth in their charts make things. Plain and simple.

Elementary, My Dear

The signs can be divided into Triplicities, that’s groups of three, also known as Elements

Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces make up the water signs.

Water is flowing. It is the medium of the emotional tide. People with a lot of water in their charts tend to be tuned into to a vast undercurrent that allows them to feel their way through life.

Elementary, My Dear

The signs can be divided into Triplicities, that’s groups of three, also known as Elements.

Aries, Leo and Sagittarius make up the Fire signs.

Fire is spirit. It is the animating force which clings to the physical.  People with a lot of fire in their charts radiate.  They cannot stand stale energy; If they have it, they burn it.

The Air Signs: Gemini, Libra and Aquarius by Nota

January 7th, 2011 @ 7:00 am by Nota

Elementary, my dear.

The signs can be divided into Triplicities, that’s groups of three, also known as Elements.

Gemini, Libra and Aquarius make up the Air signs.

Air is abstract. People with a lot of air in their charts tend to intellectualize. I don’t mean they sit around with pipes and patched jackets talking about literature, (well, some of them do.) I mean they tend to invite things into the mental space and interact with them there. They like a good think.

Dixie’s Daily Tarot, December 4, 2010: Messenger-Sniping

December 4th, 2010 @ 5:03 am by Dixie

Astrology Meets Tarot

page-wands-reversed-meaningThe phrase “Don’t shoot the messenger” has been popping onto my radar lately. Several times in the last few days. Sometimes, it’s hard not to associate the messenger with the message, though. Espeically if the emotional waves are powerful, it blurs reality for bit when you’re submerged.

intellectual.jpgThe graphic is from today’s Post Secret blog. It caught my eye as it is brilliant illustration of what I mean to be talking about around here and I’ll explain.

First we have, Kate, an intellectual woman who cannot get a man. Kate blames everyone under the Sun for her plight. Kate can’t get a date because men are stupid and oh yeah… so are women, especially if they are Mexican.

Now contrast that to the gal who sent this card. Who do you think it most likely to solve their dilemma.  The gal waving the weapon or the gal who admits to her fears and insecurities?  I’d say the second gal is halfway home and here is the astrology:

The intellect is associated with the air element and while you can certainly nurture a person’s mind it does not speak to these deeper (primal) drives and needs that all people have.  I think that Pluto in Capricorn is going to make people far more aware of this and it explains why the highly educated man or woman gravitates towards someone like me as a consulting astrologer.

The plea is this: “Get me out of my head before it’s too late.”

So who thinks what, hmm?

elements.jpgI spoke with pal and astrologer, Claire-France Perez last night. She always leaves me feeling good and usually manages to shock me as well by offering her perspective on my life which always seems inordinately advanced to me.

Now cf is an intellectual, just look at her website. But atypical of the type she has a deep appreciation for what I am and what I do which is anything but intellectual. You could compare it to a light-skinned woman appreciating the beauty or a dark-skinned woman and vice versa. In real life this is rare. You’ve got to stretch to do it.
