When Pluto Was on the Scorpio Sagittarius Cusp

When I got to Germany, Pluto was at 29 degrees of Scorpio. The next month, Pluto went into Sagittarius, and that’s when I started an intensive German class because I didn’t speak one word besides Gesundheit.

We were an intense class, in it for power, love and money. That’s why the morning before the first day of class I felt like I would throw up. Both Pluto and Venus were teetering at 29 Scorpio that day and our class bonded like there was no tomorrow. If there was a cliff, we would fall off together. Saturn was exact on my Mercury in Pisces and I was serious.

During the first hour of class, with the highest concentration possible, I learned how to say, “My name is Deirdre. I want a cup of coffee.” During the break, Lu Yen from China, Tinna from Iceland, Dora from Portugal, Paula from Columbia and I went to the cafe across the way, the cafe that is sick of people practicing German. I stood at the counter with stage fright and said, “I want a cup of coffee” — and I got it. I went back to class feeling like Donald Trump.

Do you ever feel like a real dork speaking a second language?

Full Moon In Germany

To get back to the German story, yesterday, on that Big Full Moon day, my strategy was to stay in. I saw Venus opposed Pluto involved in the Full Moon, and since I know I like being stable, the one and only reason I planned to go out was to get my haircut by my beloved Croatian haircutter. On the way there, I was at a red light on my bike, and suddenly, as close as Moon was to Pluto, right next to me was a Sagittarian woman I wasnt friends with anymore. If we had been in cars, it would have been easy to give a salute to what had been and go on, but we were conjunct, parallel and closely confronted with each other. “Deirdre”, she said, “it’s just like yesterday, we should really get together sometime and have an ice cream.”

At the office in Berlin where we meet, the waiting room overlooks a courtyard. I was admiring a panel with slices of windows crammed in a corner, and that’s where I began this drawing, watching out for the little guy.

Sometimes the feeling of drawing can be similar to the feeling of astrology. Both can satisfy my craving to make sense of chaos, laying down the details in a big picture. Just when I start taking it for granted, something swoops out unexpected like an eclipse.

With Moon and Mars freshly eclipsed in Leo, I don’t want to whine about family dispute, I want fun. So when I found this drawing I did of the taxi driver in Berlin, I felt happy and decided to go with it.

That time when I arrived in Berlin, feeling freshly coached by Elsa, and jiving on a new life slant, I told the taxi driver I didn’t want to be early for my meeting and asked him what what’s around in the neighborhood. He told me we were near the KaDeWe, the “Department Store of the West,” so I asked if he would wait while I jumped out and bought a scarf.

I came to Germany in the first place because I was in love with Ansgar. He had come highly recommended by a picky friend who had already known him for ten years. I was 35 and knew that the next right one would be the father of my child, if I would ever be lucky enough to have that happen. Ansgar was, I thought, the guy I had longed for since the first drip of my period. Within three days after meeting, we fell madly in love kissing everywhere. When he said he wanted to have a family with me, of course I got on a plane and moved in with him six weeks later. The transiting Uranus-Neptune unit were conjunct my natal Venus-Mars unit. It was a huge 1st house pile up. Nothing could have stopped me from this fate.

When people ask me if I have a good lawyer, just to move on I say, Yes, a wonderful lawyer. Really the people I understand the best are astrologers, and card readers and without them well, I will just say they, especially Elsa, have been very helpful to me, thank goddess.

What I realized in mediation is that everyone has their own story. I am not sure if mine began when Uranus and Neptune conjuncted my natal Venus and Mars thirteen years ago and I got on a plane. Maybe it was last summer when Venus was retrograde and I got on a plane. What I had been holding in for a long time, was that it wasn’t working out where we were.

In any case, I did not get on a plane when Ansgar placed an international travel ban on Viktor last October when Saturn, my ruling planet, conjuncted natal Pluto. After almost all the kids had left Viktors’ ninth birthday party. and the last few slipped out to play, and there stood Ansgar and I in all the birthday end of day stuff and Ansgar told me he had been at court in the morning while I was baking a birthday cake. He told me I would be arrested if I tried to take Viktor across the German border.

But before I tell you any more about travel bans on kids especially one’s own, I wonder if there are other stories of Saturn Pluto transits and the necessity of coming into one’s power.

The Deirdre Saga: Once Upon A Time A German Judge Told An American Mother…

Astrologer, Deirdre Tanton for the Elsa blog

moon-in-sagittarius.jpgDeirdre Tanton writes:

Once upon a time, when Jupiter and Pluto were conjunct in Sagittarius and a stellium of other planets was piling up there too, a German judge told an American mother and a German father to solve the whole thing in mediation. This is a true story of course, because it has Sagittarius, and it’s a big story for the same reason, so I can only tell it in snippets because otherwise it’s just impossible.
