Besides travel and culture, Jupiter rules education and while in New York, HQ took me to the ITP Winter Show at NYU, where he taught a course last semester. The show is an opportunity for the students to showcase their projects… a solar bikini that charges your iPod and keeps your beer cold, and various other ideas and inventions. The place was packed.

And I think HQ thought I was bored, but I was not. In fact, I was completely fascinated. Because I am from the desert! And like I said, I crave exposure to other cultures, which is exactly what college life in a major city, is to me. I may as well have been walking around India! So I was smiling inside, unbeknownst to him.

So some of HQ’s students had projects in the show and he stopped to chat with them while I stood nearby doing what I do. Observing that is. Absorbing. For example, he was chatting with one guy and he asked me what I thought about the guy as we walked away.

“I liked him,” I said. “And he sure has the right glasses. Did you see those glasses? They were strange and they worked. Hardly anyone can get glasses that good for their face so I am happy for him. He has an interesting way of presenting himself. His clothing…”

He just looked at me.

And a couple days later we were emailing around another gal he spoke to while I stood by. At the show, I told him I thought she was incredibly coy. To the point of caricature! But anyway, he was somewhat disappointed with the show and somewhat concerned I felt the same. He would not want to be wasting my time in New York with boring things! But I tried to explain I was not him. I was not necessarily reading things the way he was.

“Take the girl,” I said. “You’re thinking… I have no idea what. Something technology thing I guess. Or business. But I am standing next to you thinking, this girl has dance training. Look what she’s doing with her foot. Look at her posture, her carriage. So I am watching her and thinking about her parents taking her to ballet class when she is a little girl. And now she’s at NYU! She’s growing up and this is how she is turning out. And I am thinking about how incredibly coy she is and wondering what it would be like to date someone like that. How different she is from me…”

So there you go. It’s possible to have a perspective that is incredibly diverse from even your closest friends. And this is my preference. I want as many angles on a thing as possible. It’s why I love astrology, I suppose. It’s not flat!

And speaking of Neptune on the Midheaven the Saturn Neptune opposition (It’s a Hall Of Mirrors and We’re All In It) in the sky is currently operating on steroids with all these planets in Scorpio.

And when there is something like this in the sky, it activates whatever you’ve got in your natal chart. So in my case this what (and who) people think I am is particularly askew. Take this girl who called me a choat face. Whaaat? Obviously I am not a choat face. Who is she talking about? I have no idea!

And my isp, Comcast. They think I am a spammer and an especially deadly one at that. They think this so hard core they suspended my account! And though I have tried, and valiantly, I am seeing that it’s absolutely hopeless to try to convince them otherwise! It’s so hopeless, I gave up. You think I’m a spammer? Fine. Maybe they’ll figure it out and maybe they won’t. Meantime, I’m leaving the building because fighting this is like trying to convince this girl I am not a choate face… however it may be spelled. I feel like I am hunting a bear with pen knife.

I have also been told this week that my friends don’t like me, so who knows what that means, and today someone came up to me in the gym and asked me if I were a ballet dancer!

“A what?” I shook my head. I’ve never had a ballet class in my life. “No, I don’t think so,” I said with a nervous chuckle.

As acute as this Saturn Neptune stuff is, maybe I am an don’t know it! Maybe I am a choate faced, spamming ballerina with no friends, after all!

“No I’m not a dancer,” I said. “I’m from the desert and that’s all I know.”

He nodded. He would, he’s an Aquarian. He’s this Aquarian. But anyway, what about you? Have you noticed everyone’s shoe fits everyone else’s foot? Have you noticed reality is just completely obscured? Have you noticed everyone is crazy? Especially the ones who think they are sane?

Dear Girl,

It sounds to me like this man loved you very much and no doubt, he still does. Because love is love and when it’s real it goes nowhere. But love is a feeling. It does not dictate behavior or timing or anything else. I very much understand you want him with you and why, but you must understand via your faith there are larger considerations and a much grander plan that you have to let it unfold.

I like my sister’s analogy best. She’s a dancer and she equates all of life to a grand ballet. And a long one at that. And she mentioned this to me about 15 years ago and I have thought about it a lot since. And I’ve figured out a few things.

For example, the ballet is the thing. It’s the show as a whole that matters. So you can’t always be dancing with the person you want to be dancing with, in the way you want to be dancing with them. Sometimes you’re not even on stage for an act, or two, or three. And then you’re back out there. You dance with this person then another and then another. And then these other two come back to dance together. You get the idea. You are not the ballet, but part of the ballet. A critical part, as is everyone else but you are not the show.

And this man has done you no harm. And I have to think he has withdrawn for this same reason” to protect you. And as to how he can live in misery… it’s with great difficulty, I’m sure. I am sure he is in intense pain but he is doing what he needs to do. He is dancing his part and he’s doing it with integrity and I think you should do the same.

It’s very simple. You are not on his stage right now because you are not the director of the ballet! Other dancers are dancing and you just need to chill. And have some faith! Because he’s right. If you are meant to dance with this guy again, it will happen and nothing will stop it.

So I’d say, try to relax. And just be glad and grateful this guy came into your life and helped you out of a bad relationship. I think you’ve been gifted.

Also on cf, she told me a story about the ballet. She’d been to see the ballet on a fluke. See, she’s moved cities. And in her old city she used to go to the ballet all the time. She had access via a friend. He was a volunteer of some sort which apparently came with this perk…tickets to the ballet which he would share with her.

So anyway, she was out to dinner, or for drinks with someone who asked her if she missed anything about her old city.

“The ballet,” she said. “I miss the ballet.”

She said it with this sophisticated accent she has. She’s a Gemini, you know. She’s very cultured in spite of the fact she talks to me.

So anyway, shortly thereafter this guy gifts her with tickets to see the ballet. She thought that was cool, but I thought it was more than that. I mean, think about it. The universe keeps sending this gal to see the ballet for free.

“Now if that were me, I would be trying to figure it out,” I said. And I explained my similar circumstance. “The universe always sends me to the gym,” I said. “For low or no cost. And this has happened my whole life.”

For example when I was 19 and a totally poor bartender, a Nautilus gym opened up next door to my bar. The owner came him, made note of my big mouth and offered me a free membership. He figured I would blather him up some business.

And then there is my current gym membership which I’ve had for years. Like fifteen or so and when I first went in there, interested in joining I found I couldn’t afford it.

But then the sales rep said something key and my criminal mind / and my sales mind, honed for years at Frito-Lay kicked in.

“Why don’t you do x, y, and z…” I said, suggesting he trick a computer. “And then I will be able to afford this and you will get a commission. Because we’ve been in here for an hour and if you don’t sell me a membership, you’ve wasted a good bit of time…

So anyway, I go to the gym to this day for a whopping $11 a month because of that and I explained to cf that I had thought about this over the years.

The universe always lets me work out. And I have that Mars Mercury and do my best thinking on a cross-trainer. I write in my head, while I work out so you get the idea. The gym is part of the grand design. I need it to fulfill my destiny. I can’t do without it so the universe provides it no matter what.

And the universe sends cf to the ballet, which is a very specific place. So why is that? I told her, if it were me, I would want to know.

So what about you? Does the universe gift you in a similar way? How?

Dear Miss,

Do you know you have your Sun, rising, Venus, Mercury, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and your north node in Capricorn? Well you do.

And boy I’m impressed with you. No one reading this would guess you’re fourteen years old! Talk about taking responsibility! There are people three times your age who couldn’t write a piece like this. Know why? Because they’re still blaming others. You are one stout chick and don’t you forget it!

Now I’ll try to help you with your problem. It’s like this: you have Mars in Taurus. Mars rules anger and Taurus is famous for patience and stubbornness. So you see, you know yourself excellently well. Taurus is a Venus sign. It moves slowly and likes pleasantness. You see what you’re doing here? You’re keeping the peace until you blow…

And you do blow! And Pluto is involved too, so the plot thickens. You pack a punch, babe. And when you do, it freaks your Taurus out because there is anything but peace when you’re through. It freaks out your Capricorn too, because of the loss of control…and last, it freaks out your very sensitive Moon in Pisces.

So what to do? Well you need a channel and here’s my idea. I think it’s a good one, but it’s the principle here I want you to grasp.

Taurus & Venus = Art. I would like you to study dance. It’s very hard work, which suits your Capricorn. It’s physical which suits Mars. If you’re good at it (and you will be), it is a powerful (Pluto) expression of artistic (Taurus) physical prowess (Mars).

Further, it works for your Pisces which is all about illusion. See, I’m thinking ballet for you, because it’s one hell of a trick to make the dancing look easy. It’s an illusion. And I can tell you for a fact that the Capricorn body (and I am sure you have one) is well suited to ballet. That’s because Capricorn has CONTROL.

So what do you think about this? I think you may be poor and dance training costs money. But you can get books and get started. If it’s meant to be, it will happen. Your Pisces understands this, yes? But mostly I want you to imagine yourself with this kind of command. Can you see how you would have much less need to act out? Because your energy, your power, your Pluto-side… it would be focused on creating art.
