Astrology in real life

I thought I should tell a story to honor today’s Jupiter’s conjunction to Moon in aspect to the Sun in Leo (creativity).  This one will do because it’s off the wall and leads to unexpected places, thanks to commenter, Dan.

I am sorry to say that, Dan got pissed off one day and left the blog. I miss him but what can I do?

I am 15 years old in this story and wrote it in 2009.

On Being High-Minded And Devious

January 22nd, 2011 @ 8:09 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

There is only person in this world who I think truly understands the way my mind works and it is my sister, Annalisa.  This is because she grew up with me. We shared a bedroom. We have the same parents and if you took any one of those things out of the equation, I think she’d miss the boat too.

Last night, for the hell of it and because Saturn is transiting my Mercury, I decided (Libra) to disclose my motives for writing something in my blog.  “I am up to a number of things,” I explained with a nervous chuckle. denamaria chuckled back at me so I snorted. “Yeah, well I can’t help myself. I just can’t help but do it,” I said.

I rattled off a quick list why I wrote the post in question, starting with my true, high-minded goals and ending with my slithering-on-it’s-belly, criminal mind’s end of the deal.  I mentioned some mid-range stuff that was no less important feeling both hapless, proud and somewhat embarrassed.

Research Shows That Crimes Of Passion Don’t Exist

December 13th, 2010 @ 6:12 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

lonnie-athens.jpgThis was the follow up to the Crimes Of Passion piece in 2008. I was surprised at the results of the poll (repeated below). Very few of you (7% in 2008, 9% in 2010) believe there is no such thing as a crime of passion when hard research shows otherwise. “I lost my mind and killed her?” Turns out this is something criminals tell juries and judges and lawyers but it is not what they tell Lonnie Athens.

Getting Drunk Over My Disappering Work and A Poll Regarding Crimes Of Passion

December 12th, 2010 @ 5:48 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

smoking-marijuana.jpgThis is from 2008. Prior to the Astro Dispatch there was something called The Top 10 Astrology News.  I worked on the site for two years, making a tremendous investment only to wake up one morning and find the site gone. My work (Saturn) had disappeared (Neptune).

I was pissed and disoriented. That lasted a couple days and then I went into a sort of stress mode when people (other astrologers) started emailing. “Where is the Top 10?”

Competition Among Women Chasing Men

October 28th, 2010 @ 8:10 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

“They’d be those kind of women who only have friends who are uglier than they are. You know those women?” I asked.

“I thought pretty much all women were like that,” my husband said.

“No they’re not. I’m not like that. Hmm,” I said, challenged to think about it. “My friends are always… they’re distinctive. I always choose people who are singular and the men who like them, like them. However, when I was single I always wound up running with women who had taste opposite mine.”

“Oh yeah?”

zodiac lighterTraditionally, trines and sextiles are considered, “good”, squares and oppositions, “bad” or at the very least, “challenging”. Conjunctions are judged on a case by case basis.

For example, a conjunctions to Jupiter or Venus (considered benefices) are “good”, conjunctions to Saturn or Mars (considered malefic), “bad”.

You have to start somewhere and this is a likely place to start but I would not take this information too literally because the idea there are “no bad aspects” in astrology is actually more than a sign of our politically correct times.

Criminal Mind Astrology

July 7th, 2009 @ 8:06 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

Yesterday I had to turn down a client for a consultation because I just didn’t feel I could deliver what she wanted. This doesn’t happen that often but it does happen.

The person may want some form of astrology I know nothing about like horary. Sometimes they want me to time things like a wedding, and I refer those people too. Sometimes people want me to apply techniques to their chart that I don’t use or don’t like and I refer those people as well.

This led me to thinking about what I am well-suited to and I have come up with this short list:

get out of jail free card You voted:

Leopards can change their spots…
Yes – Scott (52%)
No – Arie (48%)

If I were on the jury I would vote with Arie. A reprobate is a reprobate is a reprobate! And Arie knows about reprobates because he is one.

death of a reprobateRunning with a divergent crowd the way I do, there are times you find you have friends you respect with opinions at opposite ends of the spectrum. For example, take Scott and genius, Arie (a pseudonym). They are both derangedly intelligent men, who are fully actualized. By that, I mean they,ve both developed into distinct people. Neither of them is going to get blown around all that much.

Scott believes that redemption is possible for all human beings. He believes in miracles, he has seen them occur. He has seen people come from the depths and turn their lives around.
