My oldest, my son, got my water Sun-Mercury. The middle, Nems, got those as well. They both got Saturn aspecting the Moon which is reminiscent of my Capricorn Moon, but both of their Moons are in air. The youngest, though, got my exact same Capricorn Moon as well as its square to Venus (which opposes my Venus). Her Sun in Virgo opposes my Sun. The Moon in Capricorn is not an easy Moon and its square to Venus is a tough one to handle. She got my toughest aspects and the toughest challenges in getting her needs met. Moon in Capricorn can have a hard road in particular in their relationship with the mother… me. Ouch.

A person’s chart shows itself at a very early age. If you happen to have planets in signs or house that taboo, too bad! It is not like you are going to be able to avoid this stuff just because you’re 8 years old.

If this is hard to accept it may make it easier or more accessible if you apply the same principles to a more comfortable chart. My sister’s son comes to mind. He’s Gemini with a Libra rising, a very smart and sociable kid. Consequently, growing up he was selected for anything and everything that required these skills.

Looking back on your childhood, do you ever wonder how you lived? I’m not talking about what our parents did to us, but what we did to ourselves.

For example, my friend and I decided it would be fun to play cops and robbers with pump pellet guns. Now we were smart about it, we agreed to pump it only once. Any way I have a scar just below my eye…..Think about it.

Astrology And Parenting

I think there is tremendous benefit to using astrology when it comes to parenting. It saves the both the parents and child all kinds of grief.

For example, I am very speedy but don’t expect my Taurean son to go or do anything, quickly. He’s reliable but where I pop out of bed, ready for action, he takes at least 45 minutes and preferably an hour before his furnace kicks in. Knowing this, I ignore it when “getting up for school”, means getting out of bed and moving into the living room to lie on the couch. Without astrology, I’d probably be complaining about that.

My son has a Libra Moon so I know he does not like to be alone. I accommodate this by having his best friend over, virtually every day. He has an emotional need to partner and this is very satisfying to him.

Children With Oppositions In Their Natal Chart… Further Outlining The Phenomenon

I wrote about the opposition in my son’s chart here: Strife Between The Parents. That this aspect causes my son a good deal of grief is undeniable however it is in his chart. This means that constellates around him wherever he goes and I have a case in point that is stunning and simultaneously usual. It demonstrates to me that if you have something like this in your chart, you can’t run and you can’t hide.

Children With Oppositions In Their Natal Chart… And Strife Between The Parents

My son has an opposition in his chart lying prominently across his ascendant / descendant axis. There are clear advantages being able to see two sides to something but I am here to tell you there is no end to pain and conflict my son suffers due this aspect in his chart. Strife is a better word and I am absolutely at fault.
