Rough Summer For The Cardinal Signs – 2011 – Get (and Give) Tips Here

March 10th, 2011 @ 6:09 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

It just can’t be denied. People with Cardinal planets, (particularly from about 4-17 degrees) are really in for a row heading into fall 2011.

  • Capricorns fear falling from their a high position or that they will never achieve a high position.
  • Cancer is deathly (Pluto) afraid (Saturn) for their security.
  • Libra is sick from stress and pressure and amputation in relationships.
  • Aries fares best here but is still feeling the crush.

The Aries Point: Cardinal Signs And The Seasons

February 25th, 2011 @ 5:04 pm by Satori

“That’s my baby: She can be all four seasons in one day.”
–Sting

SpringThe term “The Aries Point” at its core refers to the position of zero degrees Aries. It is the one degree position out of 360 in the zodiac. If you have a planet between zero and one degree Aries, you have an Aries Point planet. If you have a planet at one degree Aries, you have a planet conjunct The Aries Point. I’ve seen what I consider sloppiness in the language surrounding this, talk of orbs for an Aries Point planet. There is no margin or orb for exactitude. It’s either exact or it is conjunct. Now if you want to talk about orbs for the conjunction, fine, no problem!

Are You A Micromanager?

February 16th, 2011 @ 8:41 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life

Having some emphasis on Cardinal planets, I ought to be able to run to business. I wouldn’t say I crave the experience but I do manage to be a manager around here.

If you wonder what I’d prefer, I really enjoyed working independently for a large company. I enjoyed the safety net and the support but avoided having someone breathe down my neck.

This is probably what I keep my hands off people around here.  I try to tell them what I have learned in 10 years of blogging and 20 years of consulting; I tell them I have their back but that’s about it.  I can’t think of a worse way to spend my day then being concerned with how someone else is eating, drinking, thinking or working.

I think is because the Cardinal planets in my chart are Jupiter flavored.  I want broad freedom when it comes to my job, so naturally offer the same to people I work with.

Are you a micromanager? Can you see the tendency in your chart?

Astrology and Control Freaks in Nature – The Dental Hygienist

September 22nd, 2010 @ 7:10 am by Elsa

Astrology In Real Life…

pregnant belly

Back when I was pregnant, I had this gal cleaning my teeth. She was about my age, maybe a little older and she chatted as she worked.

Having finished the horrible scraping part of the procedure, it was time to polish. She said she had several flavors of polish and since pregnant women are sometimes queasy, she was going to allow me to choose the flavor.

“You can have pina colada, cherry or mint,” she said.

Open Question: Do You Bloom Wherever You’re Planted? Astrology’s Three Modalities

April 24th, 2009 @ 10:22 am by Elsa

Astrology In Real Life…

bloom flowersI consider myself inordinately adaptable to whatever the conditions and this allows me to have a pretty good quality of life. But what if you don’t have this skill? What if happiness is elusive? What if it is contingent upon some special circumstance or on the chance that the stars line up just so?

“I will bloom if and only if, blah, blah, blah happens…”

I think a lot of people are like this. Maybe half? A quarter? Three quarters? I’m wondering, so I’m asking.

I bloom where I am planted

And are you predominately a Fixed sign (Leo, Aquarius, Taurus, Scorpio)? Mutable (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces)? Or Cardinal (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn)?

cardinal-signs.jpgDiana asks on Eat, Drink, Breathe, Control:

“Elsa, do you think there are some people who enjoy being controlled? Or they enjoy the attempt of someone trying to control them?”

Diana, of course there are people who like to be controlled – what about the whole bdsm community? This is another hall of mirrors as far as I am concerned. Control is an illusion but I would think that – I’m a Saturn Neptune!

Bottom line, anyone who has an emphasis on Cardinal energy in their chart is going to deal with issues of control but this does not assume some sort of pathology. In fact I hate that. It’s energy and energy is neutral until directed. Further, every gift is a curse (in equal proportion as far as I am concerned) so the idea a person is this or that a way and it is automatically deemed pathological irks me to no end. But to answer your question: Yes.

cardinal zodiac signsThe Moon is in Aries and Mars in Libra. Jupiter is in Capricorn and over the next few weeks, Mercury and Venus will also slip into Libra.. The Sun in Virgo will conjunct Saturn and let me translate that for you – CONTROL.

There is tremendous focus on Cardinal energy shaping up and Virgo is going to be a driving force as mentioned, One Hell Of A Year. For now it sounds like this… the soldier when he got home from work yesterday:

“I like that combination of clothes,” he said. I was wearing shorts and a tank top and he almost never remarks on my wardrobe. “Yeah I like it, don’t leave the house in it.”

I stared.

“I saw you mowed the grass in the front. Probably wore what you’re wearing to do it. Don’t do that again either.”

I smirked. No need to answer this, he knows I’ll do whatever I want and I know he is complimenting me but you get the idea. The impulse is there. People are bossy and we are going to see more of this, much more of it come September.

Speaking of dumping, last night I was pitching my usual bitch about how the soldier left me and married someone else he’d known for of 2 weeks! If you wonder why this keeps coming up, it’s because it keeps coming up.

For example those pictures. There we are and a blink later, there he is married with child. It’s whiplash, there is just no other word for it far as I am concerned but he has a different view or in this case – song. According to him this is what happened. “I was just like poor ol’ Ray,” he said.

He’s right of course. He is right and I’m right too but anyway, it’s a good song with good astrology. Bossy commitment-phobia anyone?

lucille.jpgOver the last couple days there have been a slew of comments that characterize Virgos as controlling. I don’t get this at all. I consider the Cardinal signs to be the control freaks of the zodiac without question.

Now don’t get pissed off at me, I have both Capricorn and Libra prominent and it takes one to know but for the people who think Virgos are controlling – Please ‘splain to Lucy.

In my mind, Virgos communicate what is wrong with you and then go off to do their other work. Um…

Who is the control freak King (or Queen) of the zodiac?
