The Aries Point: Cardinal Signs And The Seasons
“That’s my baby: She can be all four seasons in one day.”
–Sting
The term “The Aries Point” at its core refers to the position of zero degrees Aries. It is the one degree position out of 360 in the zodiac. If you have a planet between zero and one degree Aries, you have an Aries Point planet. If you have a planet at one degree Aries, you have a planet conjunct The Aries Point. I’ve seen what I consider sloppiness in the language surrounding this, talk of orbs for an Aries Point planet. There is no margin or orb for exactitude. It’s either exact or it is conjunct. Now if you want to talk about orbs for the conjunction, fine, no problem!

Intro to Chart Reading – Beginners Workshop Series
In Review – Brush Up on Your Skills.
Satori and I are starting another class in the Colosseum. That’s the private message board that we use for workshops, special events and such.
This one is going to be a 3 month extravaganza of chart reading as each chart is treated as a performance piece with the owner as the star. Chart submission is voluntary but totally worth it.
You not only get a reading from one of us, but the chart will be open to members of the class for comments. In the end you get a full spectrum of readings from multiple perspectives. Plus you get to give your opinions of other charts in the class as well.
Just so we’re all on our game, I’m posting a Review of our Intro to Chart Reading Workshop. This will give you an idea of what we like to do while you brush up on your skills.
8. Aspects continued – Sun meets moon.

Want join the class but just watch? That’s ok too. Click here.
What Signs Am I Supposed to Get Along With? by Nota
Your Basic Astrology Questions Answered
I’m a Leo… I am interested in a Pisces, a Gemini, a Libra and a Sagittarius. Which one do you think I will get along with the best? Or should I look for someone else? What signs am I supposed to get along with?
-Leo Guy
This is a very common beginning astrology question. The querent often thinks he or she is asking an innocent question regarding compatibility. What they do not realize is that this line of questioning, when presented to a thoughtful and honest astrologer* will lead them to the precipice of a new conception of astrology.
*excuse my personal bombast, my progressed moon is moving into Sagittarius

A Year of Transits: What I Like About the Transit Report by Nota
Things That Are Cheap for $10 Alex!
One of the perks of being on the staff here is I get a transit report from Elsa. Now, as someone who does this for a living I don’t particularly need a transit report. I know how to look this stuff up myself. But, Sun Saturn I can do it my own self ego issues aside, I was happy to get it and here’s why:
#1 – It’s all right there for me. I am a tired person. I have a little baby and stuff to do. Yes, I know how to find my transits. But it’s the time that it would take to do the leg work that I am having trouble finding. This was fast. Bam! In my email. Done. It’s the astrological version of the wash n’ fold.

The Glyphs for the Zodiac Signs by Nota
Notes from the Palace of Memory
Astrology uses a lot of little symbols called Glyphs. If you want to be able to read a chart, it is imperative that you learn to read the glyphs. When memorizing something new it helps to make a lot of little associations to other things. This will give you more trigger points to recall the information.
Here are a few personal examples from my own palace of memory to give you some ideas.

Your Basic Astrology Questions Answered

Ok, so last time, I think I may have gotten off on a bit of a tangent. No biggie. Let’s see if we can get back to our question and reel this thing in. “What’s an Ophiuchus?”

Demystfying Astrology: What Is A Transit?
Astrology for beginners

Your natal chart is a map of where the planets were when you were born. It’s fixed. The planets then continue their orbit on a circular path.
A “transit” occurs when a planet in the sky moves into a position that hits a certain angle with one of your natal planets. When a planet in the sky is 90 degrees from your natal planet, it’s called a square. “Pluto is squaring my natal Moon.” When a planet in the sky is 180 degrees from a natal planet, that’s an opposition. “Jupiter is opposing my natal Mercury. A transiting planet that is 120 degrees from a natal planet is called a trine, etc.
Since your natal planets are in different positions than mine, your transits are unique from mine. If you are studying, you can get a year-long, concise list of the major transits to your chart with interpretations for $10, here.

“Has my Sign Changed?” Part 5 ~OR~ “What’s an Ophiuchus” Part 1 by Nota
Your Basic Astrology Questions Answered
This is a continuation of my series on the supposed changes in the Zodiac and claiming your personal responsibility in weighing the relativity of conceptual knowledge. How Saturn in Libra is that!
Peruse previous posts here.
Let’s return to our original idea from part 1. Â When we draw the ecliptic (that line that the Sun appears to travel along) on the sky, we cut through several “constellations.” Â Well, this begs the question “What is a constellation?”
