zodiac sweater 2007This is the next bit from days of yore. I am still leading to my fresh thoughts on this subject…

My sister also gravitates towards a certain physical type, we noted that although the men we choose are akin to our father, they are also very distinctly different from him. My type is also different from hers and we concluded that while the opposite sex parent may have some play, there is more to the story. She wondered about past lives for example while I just wondered in general.

Astrology and Attraction vs Propulsion: Does Venus Trump Mars?

chicken.jpgRegarding Attraction and Propulsion, Foxxy writes:

“… No matter how happy attracted or satisfied I am when I need to go I am propelled. Sometimes its like being shot from a cannon.

Bootling in your case Elsa, right? The soldier’s mud hole is great and all, but his acknowledgment of your (drive) need to bootle is one of this things that makes the relationship work . .”

Astrology and Attraction vs Propulsion

Ask the collective

marsThis is from astrologer, Glenn Perry’s, “Essays On Psychological Astrology”:

“Aristotle believed that the power of attraction was a better model than propulsion; things are lured more than they are driven…”

Do you agree? If Mars represents drive and propulsion, then what do think represents attraction or luring?

Love And Astrology: What Kind Of Man (Or Woman) Attracts You?

peacock.jpgI am working with a client now, she is trying to break a habit dating lousy men and one of my jobs is to check out the men who have caught her eye on Match.com and offer my pathology-check. ;-)

This is fun and it’s gone well up until today when I gave a thumbs up to a good-looking arrogant machismo bastard without realizing he reflected my own taste!

Once revealed I wrote this:

“I like the machismo culture because everyone knows the men crow and the women run the show. I would kick his ass for him, see? And he’d like it.

As for his specifics, I think he put that stuff in there because he is stupid which I would take as funny. I would woo him and then mock him about his stupid ad and he would be so glad to have found me I would not worry about what he did when I wasn’t there because he would know plain and simple if he did anything at all, not only would I leave but I would have another man in a week and he would never find someone like me again….”

Ha ha ha, I think I may have Venus in Leo. Give me a peacock or give me death!

In fact, I think my ad should say “Insufferable Seeks Insufferable… Boring Stand Back!”

Who do you love and why? Where is your Venus?

shadow-in-the-dark.jpgdoublecappy writes regarding the 8th house / Scorpio phenomena of being sucked in and repelled at the same time:

“Interesting. I wrote a story about this years ago. How do you solve it? I guess there’s really nothing you can do. Transcend, maybe?”

doublecappy – That may be a way out (escape) but I don’t think it’s the key. The key to becoming comfortable in your un-comfort zone is to expand your zone of comfort and the way you do that is via facing your demons and owning your own shadow.

For example, I am with a man who has killed a lot of people. If I transcend this fact… well what the hell is that? It’s a joke. If this is not clear, just compare it to what I did do.

I stayed in my un-comfort while he told me his stories. I dealt with my deep feelings as they surfaced until I came to understood and integrate everything he is on a deep level.

He did the same when it comes to the shadow in my life (which is comparable to his, don’t doubt it). This is why I write so freely about all this, can you tell?

As my friend and astrologer, Claire-France Perez puts it, “I have consumed the shadow… all of it, every single bit of it.” And I’ll tell you how it feels:

I am not attracted or repulsed. I am just there.

A person is only repulsed because they refuse to acknowledge the thing in themselves. They are attracted for the same reason and hence people like me (or the soldier) are considered “magnetic”… which is not our fault – The topic of the day.

intellectual.jpgThe graphic is from today’s Post Secret blog. It caught my eye as it is brilliant illustration of what I mean to be talking about around here and I’ll explain.

First we have, Kate, an intellectual woman who cannot get a man. Kate blames everyone under the Sun for her plight. Kate can’t get a date because men are stupid and oh yeah… so are women, especially if they are Mexican.

Now contrast that to the gal who sent this card. Who do you think it most likely to solve their dilemma.  The gal waving the weapon or the gal who admits to her fears and insecurities?  I’d say the second gal is halfway home and here is the astrology:

The intellect is associated with the air element and while you can certainly nurture a person’s mind it does not speak to these deeper (primal) drives and needs that all people have.  I think that Pluto in Capricorn is going to make people far more aware of this and it explains why the highly educated man or woman gravitates towards someone like me as a consulting astrologer.

The plea is this: “Get me out of my head before it’s too late.”

So who thinks what, hmm?

Blows the Attraction Theory All to Hell

April 28th, 2008 @ 2:52 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life

attraction-candle.jpgI have always been suspect of the theory that like attracts like. I do not deny this phenomenon exists but if it is to be a rule then it should work every time – It should pass every test which it does not.

I have used the example of the heart surgeon who attracts people with bad hearts of the hairdresser who see more then her share of people with bad haircuts to illustrate my idea that people hook up for many reasons, not just because they are like. In fact they frequently come together because they are not alike and this blog is perfect example.

Now I am not an intellectual. I just aren’t although I attract them. For example roughly 30% of my clients are sporting a PhD in something and that has got to mean something.

psychology projectionAvery Says:

Okay, so I was reading just last night (!) about projection, the Shadow, and the 7th house from this lady: Rebeca Eigan

She says that if we’re consistently attracting stuff we don’t like in our partners, what we need to do is to embody those qualities ourselves so we’re not as attracted and attached to them in the Other.

So, let’s say I’m attracted to closet sex addicts and people who can’t commit to lunch, let alone anything long-term. By her logic, I now need to become the unavailable one and I dunno, troll Craigslist for multiple one-night stands so I’ll no longer attract people like that. Elsa, do you agree? I really don’t want to embrace my Shadow to that extent, but honey, my usual MO ain’t working, either.
