“I know and I like it. And obviously these gay boys like it as well because they sure do chase you. You realize this didn’t just start. You’re just becoming aware of it but I’m sure gay men have been sniffing around you all your life.”

“Now why is that? Why would that be? Why me?”

“Well gay men like men. They lovvvvve men the same way I love men. This is very easy to understand. It is easy for me to see what drives a gay man because it’s the same thing that drives me. We want a man!”

“No, not so much. Some of them do but most of them don’t, at least this is how it appears to me.”

(FROM 2008) The soldier and I continued to discuss his targeting of a woman he’s interested in.

“You could probably get any woman you wanted if you put your mind to it,” I said.

“The hell! You’re the only woman in the world who wants a man like me. No women are interested in me but you. Women don’t want some man who runs around gonna kick everyone’s ass all the time,” he said. “Women don’t want anything to do with a man like me.”

“Yeah? Well what do they want?”

I just stared because I think by and large this is true.

Dear Girlfriend,

Well, I like you the way you are. You sound plenty sweet to me and caring as well, so I think your boy is lucky to have you. But never mind that. If you think you have a problem with your personality, I will try to help.

You are about 75% yang. Your energy is overt and super fiery but you also have a mothering side. And it sounds like your Virgo boy relates to your yin qualities. He is at ease with your planets in Scorpio in the 4th house, but struggles with the fact you’re a born alpha dog. So what to do?

Well if you’re motivated – and it sounds like you are – you can become aware of this and try to switch gears in the circumstances where he finds you abrasive. Apparently when you are home (4th house), your yin side dominates. So armed with this, you can opt to instantly soften your voice when he contacts you in another scenario. I think this will be challenging but if you feel it is worth it, it’s certainly possible.

What is not possible is that you lose your Yang energy for this guy or any other, because you are who you are and there is nothing wrong with you. So if he insists you conform and resists the idea of embracing these other qualities of yours, I would seriously look for a new boy who can stand the heat… and better yet, enjoy it.
