With my current transits, I continue to be interested in Funeral Customs Throughout History.  A few people have told me I am morbid, but hey! I’ve heard that before!

I heard it from my parents, when I wanted to look in the sick call Crucifix when I was a kid. This was forbidden.

I heard it when I was 15 years old, lying in the dark, listening to Leonard Cohen’s early work.

Sin eating is a custom that dates to the Middle Ages. It was practiced parts of England and Scotland and survived into the late 1800′s or early 1900′s in Wales…and also in Appalachia, USA.

Sin eaters were poor people who were paid to take on the sins of the of the dead. It was believed this freed the deceased from walking the earth after death.  The sin eater would be served a meal on top the corpse at a wake. Often they were hungry. This is why they took the job.

When someone does something nasty to me, the first thing I do is ask myself if I set it up.  I’m not talking about superficial things like attacks on my blog from Internet people. I am talking about deeper betrayals; things that are real and personal to me.

Nine times out of ten, I have set the thing up. I want to happen. I may not be entirely conscious when I set a process in motion, but I am conscious enough.

The tenth time out of ten, I probably set that up as well, lol.

Scorpio has the only energy that simultaneously attracts and repels people. My 8th house does the same thing. It’s like looking at a car accident when you drive by. You don’t want to look, but often you do.

It’s this quality that makes people feel so uncomfortable around heavy Pluto types. They are drawn to the very thing that disgusts them.

Are you aware of being attracted to something or someone repulsive? If so, who is responsible (Saturn) for this?

There was a thread on the boards yesterday, Hollywood’s New Bible Stories. I’ve been saying for awhile, I feel religion is making a comeback so I was not surprised when I say the article in Wall Street Journal. I have seen religious-themed merchandise showing up in mainstream outlets over the last month or s as well, which is very telling.

I have always paid close attention to trends.  Not fashions trends but deep shifts in the collective, which would be a Pluto Moon thing. I always seem know which way the wind will be blowing next.  This comes to me one way or the other.

From 2008 – The other night my husband said he preferred to avoid knowing my secrets, they disturb him. I wrote about that and some others commented they also preferred not to hear other people’s secrets.

I can understand. There are some things I don’t want to know anything about. Details around my lover’s ex-lover would be an example but a bonafide secret? A secret is so tasty!  I love knowing secrets and I’m fortunate that people tell me plenty of them.

I also like telling my secrets though I have little opportunity to do so. I chalk this up to the packed 8th house in my chart, I have a healthy (thriving) attraction to the taboo and I’m happy in this realm.

“You feel bad about yourself, so you’re degrading me,” I said.

I think this is a common scenario but few are aware of it, on either side of the equation. Having grown up with a packed 8th house and a parent who had Pluto opposing the Sun, I can you a lot about this. A person gets to feeling bad and they’ve just got to degrade someone near them, it’s a survival mechanism.

You can see this clearly, when someone launches venomous attack against a loved one or an associate or even a celebrity they’ve never met.
