Dating Predators: People Who Want You To Want Them But Who Never Really Want Anyone Themselves
Ask the collective
Posting this as a follow up to the post – Women Chasing Men – Good Idea Or No?
Judging from the comments, many people are on the dating sites. I have spent my life studying mating and there are a number of different predators out there. These are people (men or women) who would never identify themselves as predators but it is exactly what they are.

Astrology-Based Advice: Are We Soul Mates? Neptune In The 7th House
Hi Elsa,
I am SO confused about a recent break-up. I’ve never been so WOWED by a guy right from the start. Not necessarily by his looks – although I started thinking he was really good looking after a date or two. But from our very first emails and dates, I just had such a complete sense of comfort and ease around him.
After we were dating for just a few weeks, he told his sister that he thought he’d met the girl he would marry. I was starting to feel the same way, that I had really met a soulmate. But then the relationship got physical early, and unfortunately that didn’t click so smoothly right off the bat. Not soon after that, he decided he was getting “cold feet”.
The break-up was civil – but I haven’t contacted him since then nor vice-versa. Yet I still think about him ALL the time. I just want to live my life without regrets. Should I try to contact him or work things out?
Sign me,
Left Wondering
Dear Wondering,
I was curious why your guy may have bolted, so I studied his chart. I don’t deny some affinity between his chart and yours, but basically this is a guy with some fairly serious issues.
You on the other hand, have the wind in your hair. You’re buoyant, communicative, sexy, smart and independent. So why are you stuck on this guy?
Well, I don’t think you are, actually. You’re just confused. He seemed ideal initially but in fact, you didn’t really like his look. What you did, with your seventh house Neptune, is transcend his appearance. You erased this deficit and created a new reality.

Astrology-Based Advice: Long Distance Love With A Married Man – Venus in Capricorn
Dear Elsa,
I have been dating this man long-distance for 8 months now. He is married, though he’s been separated for two years and is filing for a divorce.
I have a trust issue with him, because he lied about many things as we got to know each other through the ‘net. Since then, everything he has been telling me was correct. He said he is going to have his divorce final next March. So I am giving him all the benefit of doubts until April, and see what he is going to do.
The problem: he is living abroad, and usually calls me daily. Last Wednesday, he said he was going for a two day business trip and that he would call me. I haven’t heard from him since then, and his mobile has been out of reach.
I am trying to analyze… did he disappear? Was he stuck in meetings with no phones? Maybe his wife and kid joined him and now he is breaking things off with me? I’m wondering how I should proceed from here.
Thanks,
Unsure
Dear Unsure,
In my experience, liars lie. Since your man is a known liar, there is no telling what he is up to even if he expressly tells you.
With Venus part of a stellium in Capricorn, your chart suggests the capacity for love relationship that is stable, supportive and real. That’s the potential but the way you’re playing it is just about as opposite that as you can get. Rather than working to ground a relationship in real life and deriving a sense of self esteem through being a stellar partner, you’re expressing this energy in a wholly negative way, settling for the tiniest of crumbs as if this is all you deserve.

Elsa P’s Blood And Guts Astrology Class: An In Depth Look At Love And Relationships
Come one, come all!
Venus and Mars will be conjunct in Scorpio for almost a month. It is deliciously deep and dark and y’all know I love this stuff.
I don’t like the fallout from writing about it though. I don’t like to censor myself. I do like to speak freely. I don’t like people to feed off me so I’ve decided to do an intensive in the Colosseum called, Elsa P’s Blood and Guts Astrology Class.

Astrology-Based Advice: Divorcing Aquarius Woman Meets Scorpio Man
Dear Elsa,
My marriage is ending, which is a very good thing. I am seeing someone else though (a Scorpio), who is adding to the confusion in my life.
He is foreign, ambitious, passionate, and exciting. When I am with him, everything seems so effortless and my problems seem manageable. Because we both are very busy people, we do not spend a ton of time together – but the time we do spend is very fulfilling. He is very demonstrative and affectionate physically and verbally, and tells me he loves me and such. However, this is all tempered with days when he is not exactly cold or ambivalent, but close to that.
He’ll be distant for days, and then jump back to being adoring and attentive. It will seesaw like this. Days that are so lovely… then days that are upsetting, because it seems like we are wasting what precious time we have together. This confuses me.
Is this all just a huge mistake? He has been patient and supportive for the most part, but there are those times when he gets almost fatalistic. There are a million other things going on in my life that make every day a trial, and he has been the one place where I feel calm and like I can be myself for better or worse. But then there are those days when his distance adds to the pressure.
I am so confused, I don’t even know what my question is. Is this worth it? I do absolutely adore him but are we just too different? Is this just crappy timing, or could this work?
Signed,
Overwhelmed
Dear Overwhelmed,
Let me read this back, simplified and from my perspective:
You have met someone new, and your life is in flux. This new person is supportive and has you energized; however he is a human being, with various patterns and quirks. The bastard doesn’t go left, left, left, left. He goes left, left, up, down, left, left…

Are We Doomed Because Our First Date Took Place With Mercury Retrograde?
Astrology in real life
Is a relationship doomed if Mercury is retrograde on the first date?
Worried
Absolutely not. Your dinner reservation might get messed up but that’s about it. Someone is 10 minutes late, the other person deals with it well and you’re off and running on a great date.
Nothing and no one is ever “doomed” via their chart or a planetary configuration in the sky. If an astrologer tells you otherwise – run!
You don’t need perfect conditions to fall in love. In fact the opposite is more conducive so go on your date and enjoy!
Astrology-Based Advice: Cheating With A Married Man – Scorpio Sun, Venus In Scorpio
Dear Elsa,
I’ve been dating a married man for 3 months, and it has become way too serious. For one, I thought it was a mere fling. But now I’m wondering if there is any future with the man? Is it really meant to be?
The problem is I am feeling so guilty to be betraying so many people by cheating with someone’s husband, but I cannot figure out how to end the relationship. Please help me! I am so in trouble.
Young Woman
Dear Young,
Is there a future with this man? I don’t know. Do you want a lying, cheatin’ dog for a man? Considering you’re a Scorpio with Venus in Scorpio, I’m guessin’ no. I’m not going to get on your ass about this because you sound like you’ve got some scruples. And this guy is 10 years older than you and I imagine he’s got you a bit confused. I think he’s got you in over your head. Does that piss you off? I hope it does.

Astrology-Based Advice: Failed Relationship – Saturn in the 7th House
Hello Elsa!
A relationship of mine ended recently, and I can’t help but wonder what happened. It was truly the strangest situation I’ve ever been in with another person. I felt like we just couldn’t find a way to just tell each other how we felt and what we wanted. I don’t know who was more scared of being hurt: me or him.
I’ve been telling myself that it was probably my fault it didn’t work out, because I’m basically incapable of any type of serious relationship. But now I’m not so sure about that. Anyway I’ve basically moved on, so I’m just curious if I left behind something really good?
Thanks,
Curious & Confused
Dear Curious,
I don’t think you are incapable of a serious relationship. You’re challenged maybe, along with the rest of us. The problem with you and this is guy is this simple: you didn’t fit!!
Square peg, Round hole. Square peg. Round hole. Square peg. Round hole.
No matter how hard you try, this is never going to work but it does not follow that either of you are misshapen. I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s hard enough to keep something together when there is compatibility.
With your Saturn (a teacher) in the 7th house (partners), there are lessons to be learned from your relationships.
In this case the lesson in this: when you try to put a shoe on and your foot won’t go in, you need another shoe!
Good luck.
Patty Stanger: Millionaire Matchmaker… and Astrologer!
“Sometimes the best guys are worth waiting for.”
–Patti Stanger
I was just watching Bravo TV’s post Millionaire Matchmaker show of Live featuring Patti Stanger. She was answering questions and fielded one on how young was too young for certain ages to date. She gave some specific age ranges and mentioned there being a concrete reason behind her answers. Patti announced that she was not only a matchmaker but an astrologer, referencing the Saturn return as a lower age cut-off for maturity. Additionally, in her latest Millionaire Matchmaker show she facilitated a chart reading for a client in order to assess his wants and needs.
What a shock! I had to jump right up and hunt down her birth data. According to Wikipedia, Patti was born May 31, 1961, with no birth place listed, but presumably New Jersey, where she grew up.
