Astrology Today: February 4, 2012 – Volatile Emotion

February 3rd, 2012 @ 5:00 pm by Elsa

My eye on the sky.

We’ve got a Kite in the sky today. It involves the Moon in it’s home sign, Cancer, Jupiter in Taurus, exalted Saturn in Libra and Neptune in it’s home sign, Pisces.

Anyway you turn it, this is a sweet situation. People will tend to feel good about themselves and others.

The problem is that the Moon also caught up in a T-square with Uranus and Pluto. This will destabilize anyone who can’t stomach volatile emotion. The trick then, is to realize the sky isn’t falling, even if you’re momentarily blindsided.

What Happens When You Die? Is Death Sharp?

February 3rd, 2012 @ 12:12 pm by Elsa

Ask the collective.

Do you think death is sharp? Do you think it might be? Do you think that everyone who dies, drifts there or goes to a bright light?  Or do you think this might be variable?

If you do think it is variable, do you think it varies based on the person who dies, or the manner of death?

Last, where do you get your info?  Can you add astrology?

Cultural Rules (That Clash)

February 3rd, 2012 @ 5:30 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

My husband and I have similar roots, sort of.  Deep down we’re very similar but when you hit the mid-range we have some conflicts and they’re very jarring. The clashes were particularly jarring  when we were teenagers, to me at least. I don’t think he was concerned about anything like this because in his culture, the man rules in certain areas and he wasn’t old enough to know he might encounter resistance.

The Moon in Gemini squares Mars in Virgo and Venus in Pisces, forming a T-Square in the mutable signs. Sagittarius catches heat with this, especially those with planets around 18-25 degrees.

If you believe that variety is the spice of life, you’ll enjoy the day.

If you expect all people to agree with you, at all times, on every topic, you best hide under your bed. Come out and play tomorrow.

Weekend Love Forecast

February 2nd, 2012 @ 2:51 pm by Satori

“So if you really love me say, “yes”
But if you don’t, dear, confess
And please don’t tell me
Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps.”
–Adapted English lyrics to “Quizas, Quizas, Quizas”

Doris DayFriday night there’s a modicum of ease with Saturn and Neptune (conjunct Pallas Athena) in a grand trine with the Moon. I’d say it’s best accessed by picking your battles, staying breezy and taking note of emotional patterns that emerge. Just sit with the information and let it take shape rather than trying to shape it to fit your momentary needs. If you interrupt that flow you may not get all the information available. Keep it light until you choose otherwise. Choose for yourself rather than letting circumstances dictate your actions. The Sun and Mercury in Aquarius aid in maintaining loftier communications and standing a bit apart from emotional triggers.

Fate? Destiny? Something Else, Maybe?

February 2nd, 2012 @ 11:34 am by Elsa

Ask the collective.

I’ve been studying these old poems written in the 1800′s lately, I don’t want to say what or why. The poems are a rich source for me and last night I was pondering one of them, written from the perspective of a coolie. A coolie is a manual laborer, akin to a slave.  It was this coolie’s job to pull the punkah.

question mark25 years ago, Annalisa theorized that transits of the planet the rules the chart are always beneficial.  This was innovative at the time because both my sister and I have Capricorn rising and the widely held wisdom at the time was that you were uniformly up a creek when Saturn came ’round.

Her basis was that the individual is naturally attuned to the energy of the chart ruler so had little problem aligning and while this makes logical sense I have never been able to draw a firm conclusion even though both my sister and I always benefit from Saturn transits because here’s the question:

Is it because she is right about this, or do we benefit because we both have Saturn strongly placed and well aspected?  In other words, if Saturn were trashed in our charts would we still fare well? Libra has never been able to decide.

Is the chart ruler friendly to the chart… Period?

submit your own open question…

eagleDear Elsa,

I am wondering about relationships where there a lot of Pluto aspects at work, deep intense crazy connections, that seem to be rearranging your inner organs, can they last?

What I mean is, if Pluto is transforming and obsessive, and related to death and rebirth, is it the kind of thing a relationship can have a lot of and survive? Is there sort of a built in time frame, a transformational process that naturally ends, or does it just keep working on you endlessly?

Rest In Love, Peace And Soul, Don Cornelius

February 1st, 2012 @ 6:00 pm by Satori

“And you can bet your last money, it’s all gonna be a stone gas, honey! I’m Don Cornelius, and as always in parting, we wish you love, peace and soul!”
–Don Cornelius, Soul Train

Soul TrainDon Cornelius died this morning from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Cornelius was the series creator as well as host, writer and producer of “Soul Train” from its inception in 1970 until 1993. Previously Cornelius was a radio sports and news reporter and disc jockey in Chicago, the city where “Soul Train” got its start. The show was originally sponsored by Sears and Roebuck. “Soul Train” brought Soul and R&B music to a national audience through national syndication, and had a profound effect on popular culture in mainstreaming the music, fashion and dance of African-American youth culture.
