40 Years Old And Never Bothered To Decorate Her House: Astrology-Based Advice

March 21st, 2012 @ 6:00 am by Elsa

Dear Elsa,

I grew up in a family of 6 kids, big house, great holidays, etc. My situation is this: as an adult, I have never had a pulled-together house. I am in my 40′s and this has held true through 2 marriages and my current stint as a single parent. It isn’t simply varying periods of disorganization or disinterest in decorating, but having the bare minimum of both furniture (some castoffs) and functional objects. Money is not the problem.

Every house I’ve lived in looks like I just moved in. I can truly say that I don’t know anyone who is like this; some newlyweds and college kids are better off! I’m almost afraid of having a house that is too “established” and settled. None of the places I’ve lived since leaving home felt like a place I wanted to put down roots, although I’ve lived in the same city for the past 18 years!

Am I very kooky? How can I pull my house together so I can have people over and dinner parties and all the rest? What is going on with this?

jupiterDear Homeless,

You are asking the wrong person because I live just like you. And I just knew when I was plugging in your data I was going to see a Jupiter Moon contact and sure enough, there it is! I’ve got the same and I can tell you exactly what is going on. We only feel at home when we are moving! “Papa was a rolling stone… wherever he laid his hat was his home…”

Open Question – Is It Okay To Break Up By Phone Or Text

March 9th, 2012 @ 5:58 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

cellphone.jpgA reader asks:

“Is it ever acceptable to break up with someone over the phone?”

I can think of scenarios where breaking up on the phone would be appropriate. Abuse and so forth.

But if you have had a significant relationship with someone… if you have been lovers and whatnot then it does seem to me you owe it to the person to face them and tell them what the deal is unless you want to meet them next life, feel ashamed, be a weasel, etc.

What do others think? Where is your Mars?

From 2008 – amusing.
Awhile back I posted this: You’re Divorced And Getting Remarried… What About Your Old Wedding Ring? to ask people what they did with there old wedding ring. 33 people responded, many to say they threw their rings away (typically into a body of water) and I have to say I didn’t believe you.

Open Question: How Do You Rectify A Chart?

February 26th, 2012 @ 7:00 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

zodiacDear Elsa,

If you know someone’s birthday but don’t know the exact birth time, are there any techniques one can use for trying to make an educated guess for when it might be? Would their first impression indicate their ascendant or their midheaven, i.e. public face?

attractionAlma writes on Is Dating The Same Sign Over and Over Healthy Or A Form Of Repetition Compulsion?

“Do you think that we draw people who have the same sort of energy or issues we have. For instance, I’m not completely fulfilled in my job, and I always date men who are still struggling to find themselves career-wise. Will I only attract someone with a particular trait until I possess that trait myself?”

Alma, you hear this all the time and but I am not convinced this is a hard and fast rule. I think it is far more complicated but this whole idea of “attraction” is huge so I wonder what others think.

Do we attract what we put out there and/ or what is present in our own characters or psyches unconscious or otherwise?

Open Question: Attacks With Vicious Gusto…Analyze This Behavior

February 24th, 2012 @ 5:30 am by Elsa

Open question

saturnDear Elsa,

I was just wondering about a strategy that I have watched other people deploy. This is the tactic of: when threatened, particularly with having to take responsibility for having screwed up, the person goes on attack with serious and sometimes vicious gusto. I used to watch this behavior in my ex a lot, and in the end his inability to take responsibility was a big factor in our breaking up (he was having an affair he kept denying despite an unbelievable amount of hard evidence to the contrary). This is so foreign to me that I’m fascinated by it. Is this all a Saturn thing?

Observer

It doesn’t sound like Saturn to me. As written I get a Mars Pluto type hit off this, like a virile attack. Something like a killer (black) dog coming at you, teeth bared. Saturn is more inclined to put the screws to you and turns slowly.

Anyone else?

lucille.jpgOver the last couple days there have been a slew of comments that characterize Virgos as controlling. I don’t get this at all. I consider the Cardinal signs to be the control freaks of the zodiac without question.

Now don’t get pissed off at me, I have both Capricorn and Libra prominent and it takes one to know but for the people who think Virgos are controlling – Please ‘splain to Lucy.

In my mind, Virgos communicate what is wrong with you and then go off to do their other work. Um…

Who is the control freak King (or Queen) of the zodiac?

Astrology, Love And Legacy

February 22nd, 2012 @ 7:00 am by Elsa

Ask the collective

heart.jpgNow this is pure speculation but it’s been on my mind lately. Let’s say a person grew up with parents who loved each other deeply. Do you think this is an advantage to that individual when it comes to finding love and lasting relationship in their own life? Or do you think the parents love fortune is irrelevant to their descendants?

Can you back your opinion with astrology?
