The Sun through the Signs

Hello Big Stellium in Taurus, how ya doing? Is that a bull in your pocket, or are ya just happy to… But seriously, what does all this Taurus stuff feel like to you? Do you feel slow? Stubborn? Beautiful? Lazy? Late? Sensual? Thinking about money? Thinking about your stuff?

Although Mercury, Venus, and Mars are in the early degrees of the sign, the Sun is at 29 degrees Taurus, and we get that special teeter-totter feeling, the edge. I mean, the feeling of something about to change, change about to happen. Will you feel more social in Gemini Season? Will you talk faster? Write more? Go to more parties? Become better at multi-tasking just for the month?

This post is in honor of the Sun’s goodbye to the bull and hello to the twins!

Where’s your Gemini house? Who lives there? What do you feel, if anything, when the Sun changes signs?

Where is the Soul?

May 19th, 2011 @ 7:20 pm by moonpluto

From the 4th House

In your natal chart, where is your soul? Is there a particular place? Or does it spread out all over, present in every house, aspect, sign, and planet? I have a lot of Virgo in my chart; I like to pinpoint, I like to narrow down.

Some astrologers, including Isabel Hickey, say that the soul is the 4th House, or that the soul “enters” the person through the 4th House, the IC, ruling our “karmic” beginnings.

And then I thought of the nodal axis. I absolutely believe that the North Node shows what our soul needs and that there likely is a connection between one’s IC and the North Node. I don’t have a comprehensive theory yet, but I’m working on it.

Tell us about your 4th House. And then tell us about your soul.

Is Your Ascendent The Best? Or The Worst?

May 18th, 2011 @ 4:22 pm by moonpluto

From the voice of the Virgo/Pisces axis

Warning: the following is a rant. Virgo Rising is the worst rising sign because all you want to do is merge. Pisces on the descendent. All you want to do is lose yourself, in service, to another person, and you need someone to merge with, and they have to be *just so* (says exacting, refining Virgo). Pisces wants no separation, wants one body, one soul, one mind, wants the creation of a new life form between the two, merged. Is this a baby? Maybe. A new soul in the room, literal or metaphorical.

And this tendency, desire, is supported in my natal chart over and over, a Neptunian sickness towards “the other,” the one I commit to (remember, it’s the 7th House over there), and I pity him. I pity his need for freedom and independence because the service urge to merge is just so UGH on fire, between the earth and water, along the Virgo/Pisces axis, and nothing short of fusion will do. The self? Gone.

Do you like your Ascendent/Descendent? Why or why not? Kvetch or compliment yourself here!

The Summer Eclipses in Gemini and Sagittarius

May 18th, 2011 @ 8:07 am by moonpluto

View from the 12th House

get out of jail free card monopolyDuring the short time that I’ve been blogging here, I’ve written a fair amount about the 12th House. My Venus lives there, in t-square, and I experience the feeling of imprisonment profoundly. I know what it is to *feel* powerless and trapped. And I know what it is to feel the prison of my body and the prison of my mind, my thought processes, daily life. Prison is profoundly earthy. I have a South Node in the sign of can’t fly, can’t move, can’t dream, can’t visualize. “Can’t” should be the keyword for Virgo South Node. Stopped before you begin. Stopped by the over-thinking mind.

The Moon is Full in Scorpio

May 16th, 2011 @ 9:01 am by moonpluto

The moon through the signs.

The Moon is full in Scorpio tomorrow, and I can already feel it. Astrologers have often told me to track the moon phases because I’m a Cancer Sun (and the Moon is my ruler) but I rarely feel that I feel it, feel any change or difference as the moon moves around. Maybe I’m just fooling myself. Or it’s that I’m so damn moody anyway, there’s no point. But the Moon in Scorpio I definitely feel, particularly when it moves from Scorpio to Sagittarius, as it always does. From dark to light, right?

Life With Taurus

May 15th, 2011 @ 2:10 pm by moonpluto

Mercury Square Mercury Under One Roof

I’ve been thinking about relationships lately and about Taurus. Makes sense because Taurus is Venus, is love, and my roommate is Taurus. It is platonic, but by virtue of proximity, she is, in a sense, my primary relationship. We are *here* together. I was kind of horrified to realize this, but the news isn’t all bad.

I believe it’s a mistake to think that we don’t learn from all our relationships. The sages are right: everyone is our teacher. And so often I think we privilege the romantic partnership to the detriment of everyone else. I am getting slapped with this knowledge over and over, that each interaction is an important part of… growing up, unpleasant as these interactions sometimes are.

Today’s New Moon in Taurus

May 3rd, 2011 @ 10:48 am by moonpluto

“The Moon rules the personality.”
–Isabel M. Hickey

I was emailing with an old friend last night. She was discouraging me from giving up. I don’t doubt her sincerity (that I should keep going with this particular thing) but that doesn’t mean her words are reality-based. Could just be habit. Could just be friendship. I prefer the truth so I can move on and make a good choice. I don’t want to waste time. She’s a Gemini with Venus in Cancer. Does she bend the truth out of love? Maybe ;)

Too Much Virgo??

May 3rd, 2011 @ 5:30 am by moonpluto

Serve or Suffer

Do you think about the Nodes, your Nodes, the nodal axis, and what it means? I am always looking for “the answer,” as if there is just one. And maybe the answer changes over time. I have a first house Pluto: the self dies and is born anew.

Any astrology website or textbook will speak about the 6th House, where my North Node is, as the house of work and health and pets and daily routines. The house of maintenance. The Virgo house. And I woke up this morning thinking “Aha! Maybe it’s not WORK at all. Maybe my destiny is… HEALTH!” There goes my mind again: trying to find that *one thing* to make it all make sense, make this life make sense. See, Virgo wants an end to the chaos, Virgo wants to make lists, Virgo wants order, Virgo wants all the anxieties of the soul to line up, be counted, and be quiet. And as I am so fond of saying, I have too much (self-critical) Virgo. My North Node is in Pisces (in the 6th) which can feel like chaos, feel like escape, feel like merging. Want it, need it, but how to get it, how to cross over. The North Node is a *place.*

How do you get to your North Node? Do you have too much Virgo?

My Favorite Scorpios

May 2nd, 2011 @ 6:46 pm by moonpluto

Your Sun Sign

Scorpio: infamous fixed water. Infamous? Yes! Everyone wants a Scorpio, right? In their bed, right? Or to tell their secrets to? Or to be possessed by? How many Scorpios does it take to make you feel like you need nothing and no one else in the world? Elsa once told me (and I am paraphrasing) that when a Scorpio takes their energy off you? You drop.

Transit Avoidance: Uranus through the 8th

April 27th, 2011 @ 7:39 pm by moonpluto

Expect the Unexpected

Uranus makes me nervous. Even the glyph makes me nervous. When Saturn was in Virgo, it conjuncted i.e. pulverized my Moon Pluto conjunction. At the same time, Uranus was in Pisces, opposing Saturn. This, my friends, was a transit from hell. Actually, hell is putting it sweetly. One way the Uranus-Moon opposition manifested was that I moved house three times in a matter of months. And each time it “happened” to me i.e. it was not my choice. My three cats also moved (and you cat lovers know how *fun* that is). I lost most of my possessions and most of my mind, or so I thought, during this time.
