Daily Tarot, April 27, 2011: Making More of Your Luck
Astrology Meets Tarot!
“Any fool can have bad luck; the art consists in knowing how to exploit it.” – Frank Wedekind
Sometimes, you get all the breaks in your favor and you flub it anyway. Sometimes, it looks like a huge disaster and you end up better off for it. Even if not, though, you can usually end up okay, regardless.

Daily Tarot, April 26, 2011: Getting Through the Night
Astrology Meets Tarot!
“Last night I stayed up late playing poker with Tarot cards. I got a full house and four people died.” –Stephen Wright
Now, Venus is fixing to square Pluto, shortly before opposing Saturn. That means undeniable strife and you can expect ghost sightings under these conditions. The thing to remember always, though, is that you have choices—not so much in the cards drawn, but always in how you play them.

Daily Tarot, April 23, 2011: Tending and Defending with the Ace of Cups
Astrology Meets Tarot!
Just planting a garden won’t get you produce. You’ve got to tend it. Water, weed, fertilize and defend from pests that would interfere with your crop for their own, pesky gratification. The best results come from tending and defending.
Mercury’s direct and the details have been reviewed, revised and finally, settled. Thank goodness! The initial plot has been laid. Now, it’s time to follow through.

He conquers who endures. -Persius
Every personal achievement I can think of, I started off utterly clueless about the demands. All of ‘em! I wonder sometimes, how much I would have opted out on, if I’d been better informed or more realistic. Looking at it that way, I guess it’s just as well!
No matter where you start, though, if it’s important enough to pursue, there’s one thing that always seems to work: not giving up.

Daily Tarot, April 21, 2011: Reviewing Plans
Astrology Meets Tarot!
"Some of the most wonderful parts of my life, the very best things, were the side trips I didn’t plan for," I tell my daughter. "It’s important to have goals, make plans to get where you want to go, but be open to what else shows up along the way."
Wham! Something unexpected has happened, your world veers in a direction you weren’t steering toward, and the whole landscape is wildly different. Successful navigation from here on out relies on adapting to the changing conditions without getting too disoriented by the shift.
Mercury’s preparing to go direct (thank God)! But that also makes this last call to check your course in the middle of this fire-fest.

Daily Tarot, April 20, 2011: Freedom from Energy Drains
Astrology Meets Tarot!
There’s an economy to energy; as flesh and blood beings in a material plane, our bodies and minds have only so much fuel. What we think about, what we care about, what we give and receive all reflect our values in how we spend this resource.
It can be intentional or accidental, but the end result is the same. I prefer intentional. You’re less likely to wake up some day wondering what you’ve done with your life.

Daily Tarot, April 18, 2011: No Fish for You!
Astrology Meets Tarot!
I sometimes talk about is the drive to hop in and fix things for my daughter. She’s far away, so it’s easier now not to, but I still get the urge.
To a lesser degree, though, I feel the the same about anybody I see unsure or struggling in areas where I am capable. I get the urge to swoop on in and make it all nice and pretty, then and there.
This is often NOT the best plan.

Daily Tarot, April 17, 2011: Waiting’s Almost Done!
Astrology Meets Tarot!
We’ve been talking about that full moon in Libra tonight. The lights are coming on and whatever’s been unclear becomes clear, for better or worse. It’s coming to a head now.
As disturbing as some resolutions can be, to me they are never as bad as the waiting part.

Daily Tarot, April 16, 2011: Get Some "Me Time"
Astrology Meets Tarot!
We’ve got that Libra full moon on deck. Intense! But it’s not hard to position yourself well to deal with whatever comes up here.
Today’s Tarot is "Rest & Rejuvenate," better known as the Four of Swords. It’s associated with Jupiter in Libra. Today, I’m reading this massive (Jupiter) impact in Libra. Ha!

Daily Tarot, April 15, 2011: Is it the journey that counts?
Astrology Meets Tarot!
Almost but not quite…sometimes feels like the story of my life. For example, I almost became [a therapist] [addictions counselor] [sign language interpreter] [low carb advocate] [hosting mogul] [fill-in-the-blank-here].
So many times, I was completely sure of what I was doing. "This is it. This is what I’m supposed to do." And so many times, I eventually found myself thinking, "Eh…maybe not."
I keep telling myself what I learn en route, how I go about whatever it is I’m doing, matters a whole lot more than changes of course along the way. I hope I’m right.
