Astrology Today: Monday, February 17, 2014 – Wishes

eyebrowMonday morning the Moon at the end of Virgo quincunxes the Aquarius Sun. It’s possible to see Valentine issues from the full moon pop up in strangulated form. Just attend them briefly, wrap up and move forward! Midday the Moon moves to Libra and it’s time to control your mood again. Pleasantly. Politely. Put on a pleasant face. Pencil in your eyebrows or something… but not in a scary way. Aim for “interested”. Mercury is retrograde, after all. Maybe it’s time to let your eyebrows do the talking so you can focus elsewhere.

Mercury squares Saturn and trines Mars. Going over your recent work to catch outstanding details that have gone awry is a great use of this energy. They’ll likely stick out like a store thumb and it should go quickly. It will go quickly once you get started and get to really working on it.

For the rest of the day the Moon quincunxes Neptune and moves toward a grand cross with the other cardinal planets. It doesn’t quite get there until early, early the next day. Play up the dreamy edge this gives the Moon and don’t feed your fears. Feed your desires! Control your mood and fuel your desires with dreamy wishes.

  1. Up very early on this Monday Moon to catch this mood as I respond to feedback and edit a work-in-progress: “Going over your recent work to catch outstanding details that have gone awry is a great use of this energy. They’ll likely stick out like a store thumb and it should go quickly. It will go quickly once you get started and get to really working on it.”

Nice to read this post as a reward. Thanks Satori.

  2. Can’t help but react to a lot of people concerned about the Mercury Rx and how it’s really affecting them more than other Merc transits. Have you guys talked about the Jones Pattern and how many planets are in opposition to Jupiter in Cancer – which is making life impossible for Cancer Sun signs, planets, rising signs (especially at early degrees, like 10 to 12 degrees, or quadrant 1 out of 3).

Regardless, going back to Mercury Rx it’s making an inferior conjunction to the Sun right now (inferior because Mercury is going backwards, Superior is when Mercury is in direct motion).
And found this tid-bit from Robert Wilkinson interesting:

“The inferior conjunction is when Mercury (mind) conjuncts the Sun (life) while retrograde. This indicates that signals, messages, and ideas from either outer sources or subconscious sources will fuse with the life principle, setting the tone for the lessons involving how our minds are relating to our lives during the next four months. Since Mercury is retrograde, the degree of the inferior conjunction shows how our lives will merge with our perceptions and bring forth a new understanding of our light.”

There’s a lot more in-depth analysis of this time, but I’ll leave everyone to ponder this.

I have Mercury Rx in my natal chart, so it doesn’t affect me as hard as it would affect a person who was born with Mercury direct.

So, check your natal charts and see which direction Mercury was in at the time of your birth. Chances are, some of you will have been born with Mercury retrograde, so this is a time that might not be as difficult, as opposed to those born with Mercury direct.

  3. Notch,

Am pretty sure Mercury goes station direct on February 28th. So the Superior conjunction should take place in Pisces at the beginning of March. I lost my ephemeris during a move, so I can’t pin-point the day. Maybe Elsa or Satori can be more exact. Unless Merc goes Rx in April again – which I doubt – it may have a Superior conjunction with the Sun in Taurus then too…hope this helps.

  4. Okay, I figured out on my computer when Mercury makes a superior conjunction with the Sun. It’s not until April 26th in Aries. Yikes! though, I hope this transit doesn’t trigger or add pressure to the Grand Cross.
