On Writing Your Own Ticket In Life (Saturn In Scorpio)

February 16th, 2013 @ 5:30 am by Elsa

Saturn in Scorpio

I asked people if they felt they wrote their own ticket in life and got really interesting responses. I think this is a cool question.

It seems it is much easier to write yourself a bad ticket then it is to do otherwise. For example, if you don’t study in school, you’ll become a dumb ass. You’ll have written your own ticket.

If you disrespect or mistreat your lover or your spouse, you’ll lose them – you’ll have written your own ticket.

In contrast, if you work really hard, if you strive and so forth, you still might have limited success, even if you’re a major talent. Look at Van Gogh, for example.

It seems that the negative is more likely to be guaranteed than the positive. Someone can be a good, honest person – get framed for a crime they did not commit, be convicted and imprisoned for life! This storyline, more or less extreme, is not uncommon.

I’m thinking about this because with Saturn in Scorpio, I see people writing drastic tickets (Pluto),  impulsively (Uranus), that will cost them for many years, if not the rest of their life.

Based on this, I think this is a good time to ask yourself, just exactly what you think you are doing and why.

The ticket you’re filling in right now. What’s it look like?

I have a blank ticket; I’m being so super careful about the decisions I make that I won’t make one unless I’m sure of a positive outcome. I DO NOT want a ticket that I’ll pay for, for the rest of my life.

Sometimes you have a whole lot of training in various skills ((Jack of All Trades))….. but are unwilling to move to where the job is , or work for the wages offered. I know someone like this.

That’s ticket which is more like a golden turd.

Admits one. I have a plan until retirement, and I will focus on taking care of important things, family, buy a house, and retire where I plan to, barring an act of God.

If there are surprise goodies I intend to share the love with a new pet.

But for the most part, it’s printed and I’m carrying it to my grave.

I’m paying for my ticket, with my life. Astrology would be riding pluto to gain freedom. I have no choice, just the ticket. The show? Life! I have an open mind, I’ll watch it. Just make sure I get out when the credits roll! :)

Great post. This frame brings the main, long-term story (Sat/Scorp, Uranus Pluto sq.) into focus on a personal level. Thank you. I’m in a position for the first time to try to deal honestly with my dire reactivity (drastic tickets written impulsively, typical for Sun Uranus Merc conj in fire, and an Aries MC). I find myself newly empowered to learn new lessons (Jup Gemini), new strategies for it, mainly relying on transiting stellium in Pisces, representing my visual imagination (as it conjuncts my natal Mars in Pisces).

I’m teetering on the edge. I have a drastic solution in mind. It would go deep and take care of several trouble points I have now. Buts its damn scary… The prospect of it succeeding is scarier than if it fails.

Good post. This transit seems to be affecting money and roots for me. Going to go buy Dave Ramsey’s book now and really learn about it.

This is the third layoff in seven years – so I am really looking at things now. Me and 300 other people go laid off in December.

What a great post. I agree, it is so true that negativity has more predictable results than hard work and kindness necessarily do. Maybe because it’s often so much more obvious? It’s just one of those hard facts about the complexity of situations in life.

Interesting but very fatalistIc
Already wrote it
If I accept the result is the “punishment” for the rest of life then is it really worth working for or believing in something else?

Very interesting -I just got married and am pretty ecstatic (we dated for 7 years)Anyway to address the issue, I always see the other side of the coin- people who put in some effort and just have major charm or trines and seem to score bigtime- it doesn’t mean they are happy, but there is that phenomenon.

Well if you didn’t study in school, and now you are a dumb ass, you can still opt to crack open a book and write a new ticket.

“It seems that the negative is more likely to be guaranteed than the positive.”
Facing such hard truths eye to eye is so liberating and empowering.
Chiron conjuncts my MC in Taurus and I had to rewrite my ticket many times already. With Saturn in Scorpio though I’m determined to write it better this time round. But Saturn squaring my sun leaves me clueless for the moment..

The ticket I’m writing now? Well, I’ve been under massive Pluto transit for years now, still ongoing… so I am rebuilding everything after each wrecking ball swing. One ticket, another ticket, another ticket… I should be copping a break in two years. Can’t wait to see what the final result of all that wrecking and rebuilding will be.

Just watched someone close to me write throw their ticket away. It makes me sad to see him not realise his potential. He should be pushing himself to be everything he can be, but his drive has gone.

This one is really relevant for me (Scorpio) with Saturn in my sign (6th House.) I’m stuck in a well-paying job I hate, and before me I have three (count ‘em, three!) opportunities to turn labor-intensive voluteer positions into a career. But it’s up to me to justify the expense for my salary in all three cases. Neptune is hanging out at the very last degree of my 10th, and Saturn’s about to go Rx, which means this story is far from over. When Saturn does look back, it’ll bump into my Uranus, so I’ll be interested in seeing if there’s a rabbit in the hat or a frog…

Even if you go to school you can still be considered a dumb ass. According to many studies my major Religious Studies garnered unemployment for an extensive amount of time until I figured out what I really wanted to do. Now I’m not the only one, they say stay away from theology/philosophy/religion and liberal arts if your only getting a BA. However you only and I mean will and only go to law or med school then that is ok you’ll stand out.
So this is my plan. Plan A is music school for music production. But Plan A depends on a scholarship. If that fails for one yr, I can still enroll for one year and apply for the same scholarship (which pays full tuition) the next year… Plan B if no scholarship then I am continuing taking public transportation and working on my music with the band. Focusing on music classes to gain musical talent and the band. My goal is to gain exposure enough that I can make a living off of this and most importantly be ADVANCED on my instrument. So I am going to take lessons again soon just to get better motivation etc. I know that if I get a car I may end up in a bad situation so I am going to stay away from that for now until I figure out the plan with my band. Imminently I am studying for music classes and living in my parents (they are my not so happy godsends and am grateful though I can show it more often) .. I was gifted with dramatic arts and being neptunian influenced I should go for it. So I finally am doing what I love while doing a side gig on the job of tutoring which I am grateful to have. I finally finally finally finally decided to do music! I don’t care what anyone says about this , I am going to work for peanut wage if I have to I don’t mind. I can songwrite, transcribe songs, write jingles, do whatever i have to do to survive. I am regretful I left a licensed job and now my license is canceled by a mistake anyway. But it did cut alot of time away from creativity however it would be good to have a license again. Sorry this was long this just reinforces what I have to do so this is a good exercise. One last thing. As a woman I have to prove myself which sucks men can be such ugggrrr well you know what. Its all chivalry really. That’s why I have respect for females like Yoko Ono and Le Tigre bc they know what’s up.

That filter really hates me! haha. Anyway it was too long. Well, I am going for music each and every day. If I am not listening to music I am playing it, practicing it , thinking of it, or taking a class of it. I really want to earn a living off of it and make my mark in the music industry with the band I’m in. I am careful to obey the law not drive right now or go out to risky parties or take out any bad loans, etc. I am supposed to live by my means and not step on anyone’s toes. And it works out well ;)

I am filling out a ticket for independence, health, love and truth and beauty; and the highest expression of my bullshit that I can possibly manage in this lifetime.

I *want* the chance to work hard if that’s what’s necessary. I get irritated at people who try to stop me.

I am feeling myself at my age becoming a force of nature. Of course the negative comes true but then we have sort of a weird, spoiled idea of what is positive and negative.

Lost your house but your kids are healthy and someone on this earth loves you?

Heavens, no, not that.

I keep hearing Willy Wonka…and I’ve got a golden ticket, I’ve got a golden ticket…truly a gift from the Universe. However, I just drank the fizzy pop and bumped into the ceiling and almost messed up my opportunity. I think I just got a warning shot across the bow to chill the f*#k out. It’s okay to be excited and a go-getter and as *Eva* said “a force of nature” but I need to calibrate it, lest it come across as too aggressive and I suffer the blowback.
