Mercury Retrograde: February 23, 2013 – “Never Try To Reason With A Drunk”

Mercury turns retrograde at 19 degrees Pisces on February 23rd. I am far from being a Mercury Rx alarmist, however these periods are not created equally. This Rx period will be particularly challenging and potentially maddening, especially for Mercury-ruled Gemini and Virgo.
The reason is because Mercury will be in Pisces the whole time. Gemini and Virgo are not keen on having their minds running backwards in the fog. You want to receive a crisp fax. Instead you get a vague message written in disappearing ink. When you tell someone about it, you may or may not be believed!
Also note that when Mercury turns retrograde @ 19 Pisces, Mars is at 17 Pisces These planets will collide 18 Pisces, right away.
We’re talking about people who are angry and don’t know it. We’re talkin’ sneaky, misguided attacks, purposeful brainwashing / gaslighting and the like. It’s entirely possible that you mind (Mercury) fuck (Mars) yourself, so I highly recommend you find an positive outlet for this energy.
For example, you can direct your imagination to serve others. You can be driven (Mars) by compassion (Pisces). You can communicate with sensitivity and you can pray.
You can also transcend your mental confusion. You can escape it, but this is rarely a strong suit for Mercurial types which is why I expect a soupy mess!
Just remember that Pisces has the potential for self-undoing. If you find yourself indulging in this, head in the other direction!
Also, remember the old adage, “Never try to reason with a drunk”! Odds are you’re going to run into a lot of them.

It’s on my 4th house Pisces moon and exactly trine my Cancer Venus, hope I won’t get too emotional and put my foot in my mouth with a loved one!!
Thanks for the warning Elsa. Yes, I have Pisces rising, but my Sun is in Virgo. Already the previous Mercury Rx transit was a bit maddening with Mercury square Neptune.

I guess I’ll need to increase my intuitive and my compassionate side, that sounds like a decent alternative to self-undoing/desire to flee the world/confused frustration…
I am also listening to subliminal messages to help redirect my thoughts in a more constructive manner, which I think is very Piscean.
Mercury (in Sag:)) is the ruler of my horoscope. So, I’m kind of used to living with this type of mental energy that sometimes forgets where it’s going and why.
I can do something with Mercury in Pisces, though, thanks for bringing this up. (just to be careful not to lose things and make sure to write the most important tasks, since this mess hits my 10th:)
However when Mars in Pisces hit my Saturn in 10, I had no clue what to do. Still looking for solution of that issue.

*sigh* this is going to be opposite my Virgo Saturn/Moon, across 1H/7H. Glad for the heads up.
The funny thing is I already come across a lot of “drunks.” I run with sober alcoholics, so at least I have that part out of the way. 
I’ve already noticed that people seem to have trouble pronouncing words now (me included). We’re all going to sound like Elmer Fudd and Porky P-p-p-p-pig, folks. LOL
Geminis are really getting their asses kicked with this. Other people too, but I am really seeing Gem struggle. 
I meant Gemini and Virgo.. omg! It is starting already!! I’m Mercury ruled is what I meant!! lol… I’m going to have to pull out my sense of humor to plow through this!

usually this Virgo find the effect of Mercury retro 1 week earlier. planning for a surgery for my mom, I can’t wait 4 weeks to get Mercury direct… my sun is at 22 deg Virgo, 5th house. mercury is going to retro at my 11th house. so much worried for my mom’s recovery .. praying hard hard hard ..
I have many Gemini friends, I hope they don’t get their asses kicked too badly. I was looking for something this morning and found this, I thought it was very interesting, I didn’t know that Mercury was the highest density planet and will have to re-read the bit about being the only planet with spin-orbit resonance when the caffeine reaches my brain.
I will probably be the one with the whiskey bottle, so don’t try reasoning with me, :p
My ASC is Gemini. My chart ruler merc in Aries is already getting a work out and my sun at 16 Pisces wants to float away…..
Every day I want to talk less and less. Hard to believe for someone with Jupiter in Gemini. I wish I could disappear, Pisces style.:)

Thanks for the heads up, Elsa! I’ve been practicing on not holding onto knowledge. It’s as if, you start to move into a different dimension. You move into a dimension where inside gets really quiet. The mind many still be there chatting in the background of noise, or it might not, but consciousness is no longer bothering itself with the mind. Sure, knowledge is there when you need it for a recipe or a craft, and the mystery of quietude takes you into the freedom of thought. Ah, place it in a drawer for the next 6 weeks. The mystery just keeps opening to itself if you let it ~ if you let go of control. ~ Adyashanti ~ Love grabbing as much as the next guy, and I’ve got Mercury in Leo and lovin’ it when I can let go of the chatty noise~! xo
This energy will permeate my 6th house. I am currently job sourcing. I am looking forward to this rx with open mind. I take life a little slower during Mercury retrograde. This retrograde sounds thrilling. Prayers and Wine that’s my RX.

I’m really struggling at present. Neptune on the Asc and it feels like the ground & my landmarks have slipped away.
I noticed these Rx effects started the day Merc stationed; it feels it will be a long one. This conj will be right on my chiron in the first.

thanks for the heads up, retro will happen in the 7th close to jupiter, squaring sun/chiron/moon in gemini exact, squaring uranus in sag and opposite my virgo asc. let me tell you, the build up to this is almost worse than the actual happening and mars isn’t helping -.- right now I get irritated soo easily, but st. virgo likes to repress that stuff O.o

Gonna see what happens, I am Virgo sun and my mercury is in virgo. Plus my boyfriend is Sun moon and mercury in Virgo. We are the poor lab rats for this retrograde. We already go back and forth a lot. Last night his Newish T.V. Was not turning on. We went up to sacramento this valentine. Had a major issue with car rental (mercury=transportation+communication) he also got a ticket for “speeding” 77 mph is very gray area for freeway. Regulation speed 65 mph.

Tks for this. I already knew this would be challenging. Mercury Rx is challenging enough for my triple Virgo, but it being in Pisces I’m sure will be particularly frustrating for me. Yuck. I’ll be meditating to keep my composure and praying a lot, and serving others as best I can by sending them some healing and peace, even if it’s just through mental channels.
Not sure what the astrology of it is for me, but all Mercury Rx’s tend to be GOOD for me, and, looking at where this one will happen for me, I am actually looking forward to it.
Between all of the stops and starts involving getting my business opened, the hostility of those I’ve come in contact with on a personal level, and putting my friend in the hospital… I’m done. I already have shown my ass due to the frustration of non-clarity with my business. “I could do all of your jobs, at the same time, in my sleep.” not a nice attitude for me to take. I didn’t say it, but the attitude was there. I’ve decided to cool my Virgo Sun and slip into my Pisces ASC and go with the flow…cuz I sure as shit can’t fight against it. It’s exhausting and I only get myself in trouble when I grip onto that need for crisp perfect pathways. Yep! I keep repeating this mantra, “Lord, I know you’ve got this!” At least someone better be driving this thing, cuz it ain’t me. Patience is not my strong suit. Learning Lessons is Fun!! ::sigh::

These next few weeks are going to be hell for journalism. And drunks. Especially drunk journalists. Oy!
Its going to be in my 5th house! Conjunct my Sun and Venus. So I will have foggy rose colored glasses on in which I’ll misinterpret a kind gesture to be a nerdy reaction of “oh yeah she likes me!” lol! Then my ego will be hopefully on the kinder side of Neptune. Mercury is in my 5th house/Leo so artistic things might get side tracked or delayed. Unfortunately I have an important audition the next day after the RETROGRADE. I hope I make it to the audition on time (DOE!) No mechanical failure please! Lately electronics have been breaking down on me but my Mercury is in Gemini?? Oh well same ol same ol

This Virgo Mercury (Rx) is already feeling Mercury in Pisces and then some. It’s hormones, but I’d rather just read chick lit and sleep. 
Mercury will go back to oppose my Mercury in Virgo. Mars is in tight opposition.
This whole Pisces pileup has been hell on my Virgo…and they haven’t even reached Venus/Pluto, at the very end of Virgo.
Right now, I’m getting confusing and troubling information about a confusing and supremely troubling situation, with no end in sight and no solutions. How maddening is this to a Virgo stellium? But I feel called to pray for the person. Even that’s hard to do…but I’m trying to transcend my anger. Hard to do with a Mercury/Mars opposition in play.
Who knows what will happen with Mercury Rx with the mass in Pisces squaring Jupiter in Gemini…and with all the planets moving into Aries shortly afterwards…
My pisces and sag planets are caught in the mess, and just watch my Moon in Taurus get lashings with Saturn opposite. I’d take a bet out on myself being attacked if I could!
Your mention of the location of the retrograde jolted me into checking my chart: this is going to be a big retrograde, but I’m not sure in what way.
My natal Mercury is retrograde in Pisces at 19 degrees, and Mars is the ruler of both my sun sign and ascendant (Aries and Scorpio, respectively). I usually experience Mercury retrogrades as a comfortable period, and had been looking forward to this one that duplicated my natal situation… but it sounds like I might be heading for a world of inner conflict. Eeep!
Lol! Maybe me too Blue Moon. I have been feeling drunk already and not drinking! Maybe I need to start. Or just pray to the bottle…lol
I know someone who has a stellium in Pisces in his natal chart, 7th house, and now this stellium is transiting right over that one. Would that mean it’s best not to spend time around him over the next few days?
I will not be able to avoid him, but at least I am aware any interactions will most likely be very interesting, at the very least, so I can be prepared now that I know.

lost my 2nd job because confusion n misunderstanding n back to time where i had this small job and after this i use to sit at home n that is what i am doing now i wonder what to do i call them tell to give it backk but still dont listen dont know what to do
