Astrology Today: January 16, 2013 – In Reality

January 15th, 2013 @ 5:00 pm by Satori

“You don’t love someone for their looks, or their clothes, or for their fancy car, but because they sing a song only you can hear.”
― Oscar Wilde

Oscar WildeWednesday morning the Moon at the end of Pisces sextiles Sun in Capricorn. Mercury applies into conjunction with the Sun. Venus moves toward conjunction with Pluto and both sextile their sign ruler, Saturn. Solid goals, perceptions and communications find expression in the diffuse and dreamy mood of the Pisces Moon. Deep desires with a root in the past create the opportunity for a concrete address. With Pluto involved and Saturn in Scorpio, this can mean many things, among them amputation for the greater good or solidifying and going deeper.

Venus in any aspect to Saturn can create boundaries or blockades to love and attraction. But in this aspect, even if this materializes, it tends to be in concert with a better outcome. Be prepared to let go of the idea of the future you cling to and grab on to the one that is possible in reality. Restrictions can and do bring benefits. Or maybe you just like to be tied down and stretched a bit on the rack. Mars IS in Aquarius, detached, square Saturn, so remember to remind people of your safe word. I always thought “Surrender Dorothy!” would be a great one. But that’s two words, and I digress. Back in vanilla world: Remember to shut your curtains.

Late morning the Moon moves into Aries and a conjunction to Pallas Athena. Look for an emotional awareness of patterns within you. With the Moon on the Aries point, this is likely to be highly personal and action-oriented. What is it you DO that creates a particular emotional outcome?

Later the Moon conjuncts Uranus and sextiles Jupiter. Emotional lightbulb moments are possible and likely. Wear a hat and carry a hanky.

My dad would’ve been 97 tomorrow … somehow this post makes me cry thinking of him and my Pisces mom. I have my hat and hanky.

Or how about doing both, in one fell swoop: amputating for the greater good and making a commitment to solidy and go deeper as a result. That’s the deep water I’ll be heading into.

On a lighter note, it’s dawned on me that the Aries point fills in and transforms my t-square, making it a Cardinal Grand Cross, Sun Opposite Moon Squaring Pluto opposite the Aries Point (and my mc). How many years have we been dealing with Cardinal Grand Cross energies, and I’m just now noticing this, lol :blushing: :)

great post satory! lovely writing conveys beautifully the athmosphere. i feel fatedness in the quality of the moment as well. could that be linked to the outer planets energy, especially pluto? (i’ m having to surrender to «trust» and it has been a very stressfull time for my moon/IC cj i aries opposing pluto/MC cj(libra)… squared off by current pluto/venus).

Have just had “the talk” where i now know I am and always will be in the friends with benefits category. That’s not where i wanted to be but I totally get that “restrictions do bring benefits”.

I feel surprisingly calm. I can still feel my power and know this is part of my transformation process. Merc 4 Cap, Sun 7 Cap in the 1st squaring with chiron in 4th – so pluto is irrevocably doing his best while uranus and venus things up.

Thank goodness for red wine and much respect for Saturn.

I had the hanky close but had no need for it. :-)

facing a situation where there will possibly be both an amputation and a commitment made, as well… as a cancer i’ve been waiting for this for a long… long time. sometimes patiently, sometimes not. can’t wait to see all of what 2013 continues to bring…

I apologize, Satori, but I’ve got to quibble over that Oscar Wilde quote, because for most of his life, “cars” or automobiles, did not exist. And when they did exist, there would have been so few that they likely could not have been divided into fancy and not-fancy (i.e. been a status symbol.) Perhaps the attribution is mistaken? Just sayin’. ;-)

I actually had the same thought. however, sometimes I find the sentiment is more important than the attribution. when I had more time I found it was likely Helen Keller who wrote it. tough to pin down anything second hand as fact in any case.
