“You don’t look strong enough to trouble nobody around here…. We grow our own troubles–it would be a novelty to have some we ain’t already used to.”
― Larry McMurtry, Lonesome Dove
Wednesday the Moon in Sagittarius opposes Ceres in Gemini. With the Moon symbolizing “mother” in a general way and Ceres as mother in the realm of nurturing, this presents an interesting dynamic. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter and expresses the higher aspects of mind and learning. Gemini, ruled by Mercury, situated in air, covers the quick, present mind that perceives and processes information. The opposition presents an atmosphere where a dichotomous set of opposites may balance. Issues of women, home, roots and receptivity as well as what one needs in these areas are prominent, and seeking balance. There will be facts and there will be an emotional education.
Ceres’ sign ruler, Mercury, is in Capricorn conjunct the Sun, part of a stellium in Cap with Venus, Juno, and Pluto. Pluto and Juno quincunx the Moon’s sign ruler, Jupiter as well as sextiling their own sign ruler, Saturn. The mother-nuture opposition relates back to a heavily Saturnian slew of planets, incorporating the need to deeply commit and do the right thing. With Venus at the first degree of Capricorn, a solstice point, there is an emerging aesthetic that makes the whole mess o’ energy decidedly more pleasant. Sextiling Neptune, fantasy and the ability to ascribe pleasure and magic brings imagination that can be accessed for a lovely effect.
Venus-Neptune in place under a Jupiter-ruled Moon is a great time for dreams and optimism. Mars in Aquarius squares Saturn and trines the Vesta-Lilith conjunction. Using the devoted energy of the powerful and receptive feminine resonates back to that female power opposition. Innovate. Use all your tools.
