Neptune (water) retrograde is squaring Mercury (transportation) at the moment. Certainly people on the East Coast are having trouble getting around. The flooded subway is a textbook example of how the clashing of two planets might manifest.

Neptune will turn direct on November 1oth.  Mercury will turn retrograde on November 6th, which will intensify the square, because the planets will be moving toward each other, meaning the aspect is applying, rather than separating.  There is a lot of sloshing around with this.

On another level, I see a lot of lying with this.  Mercury is in truth-telling Sagittarius, but Neptune obscures.  Some are misled by others, but often it’s an inside job. People believe their own lies under a sky like this. Ugh.

The Benghazi situation is great example of just how convoluted things can be. The idea (Mercury) is forget (Neptune) knowledge and truth (Mercury in Sagittarius).

Personally, I am avoiding (Neptune) conversation (Mercury), because I don’t want to be mentally (Mercury) undermined (Neptune).  This aspect peaks in mid-November.

How aware are you of the lies and misinformation swirling around out there?

I feel like in Pisces alone is doing a number on folks. I mean the truth really doesn’t matter. Not only do people say Sharkey want,.but they also believe what they want. People want to stay in there little boxes of self delusion.

I’ve decided to mind my business.

It’s scary how so many people are “living in the bubble” as Bill Maher says. A perfect example is the new Romney ad stating Jeep is moving to China when in fact the company published this isn’t true. What happened to the principle that lying is wrong?

Lies and misinformation are the new normal? It’s much easier now that I just accept that it exists. I don’t have to be concerned about anything being real or true. I don’t bank on anything anymore. It’s all about navigation.

Current confirmation, next 3-4 weeks :
It’s like waking up after a first night of sex with an old heart throb and not remembering his name, Tony, no Jim, no George….or why you even wanted him in the first place. Ughhh!

I’m mostly trying to avoid conversations with people, at least ones of any significance.

I’ve started lying a bit. It’s weird but I don’t even care. I told a lie this weekend. My sister confided in me about person stuff that involved our mother. She was really sad, crying (she never cries in front of anyone). Later my mother tried to squeeze information out of me and I lied straight through my teeth and played ignorant.

‘Did your sister tell you about our fight?’
‘Nope, sis didn’t tell me a thing about anything, so best you don’t tell me anything, either.’

I was thinking to myself…fack. I should have started doing this about 10 years ago and all the sisters would probably be getting along better by now, lol.

Then I told another lie! My best friend sent me a text in error. It was about me, but to someone else. Not mean things about me–really nice things about me. But I knew she’d be humiliated if she knew, that I know. I sent her a text back, saying ‘did you mean to text me? I just got a blank text.’

She lied back: ‘nope…I didn’t text you’

This is funny to me. I hold the truth in high regard, I swear I do! But here I am, greasing the wheel with little white lies…

I’ve been staying to myself for weeks now.. trying to avoid conflict. An old friend emailed me last nite to ask why we hadn’t spoken.. I was very nice and said, I had distanced myself for personal reasons. I didn’t to go into the personal details. He chewed me OUT in his response. I thought I was doing the right thing… ur damned if u do.. ur damned if you don’t???

Been there all centuries. Triggering emotions, especially fear, to get us to believe or do things that we wouldn’t otherwise. The experts are just getting better at it? Kids are not taught to analyze and question in school? Its not very new. Ever heard of the Peloponnesian War? Neither did I until my daughter had it in Freshman world history. http://classics.mit.edu/Thucydides/pelopwar.html Loved the different reasons for war to break out, including the “purported reasons” or made up ones that can trigger the fuse. Written in 441BC, not too long ago it was the “weapons of mass destruction”
This year, there are new lies. Why? It seems to work.

I rather like the idea of people getting a solid education, from people who like to question rather than think they have all the answers.

Great questions Elsa.

ah, kashmiri, thanks for the BIG grin!

i can *only* see world issues, as mentioned, in terms of theatre since i cant get off this spinning orb. i have always made my own reality which is all i can particiate in.
have to say, watching the run-up to the elections, my usually detached mentality is having a bit of trouble. the scripts are getting so wild in these ‘plays’ and one starts to tilt in a certain direction. (oops. remember its illusion.)
humanity and our programming. such highs and lows we invest in.

I don’t know what’s going on but I’ve been feeling very scared these last couple of weeks. Like a small child who’s lost their mom in the store kinda scared…panicked. I don’t feel grounded at all and I can see where this may be attributed to the feeling that there is nothing to hold onto…that nothing is real. It’s freaking me out. And yes. Lies. I got a little side job at this small cafe last week. The second day I had this woman order a grouper sandwich and on the menu it says ‘market price’. I went to ring it in and I asked the chef what was the price and he said, “$15″ I went “wow, $15, really? Okay.” long story short the next day (my 2nd day there working) the owner calls me into his office and says, “I heard that you were complaining about my prices.” I asked him what he meant and he said the chef told him I was complaining. I explained that I meant wow! grouper sure is expensive right now sort of deal, but he just kept going on and on saying I don’t have a right to complain about his pricing, he’s been in this biz a long time etc, etc. I just kept repeating I did not mean it like that. Well, I ended up quitting, another place called me to hire me and really who needs that shit? What is wrong with that chef and him the owner to just assume and then go off on me. There is nothing like someone trying to intentionally cause trouble for you and being accused of something you didn’t do. God I hate that.

I think that lying has been the norm for awhile now. People are just beginning to wake up to the fact that we are being spoonfed a lot of nonsense. I am noticing how a lot of people don’t want to know the truth if it conflicts with their belief system. I don’t think any particular political group is immune this behavior. But at the same time, more and more people are speaking out on the truth. For example, former Judge Posner has admitted that his Chicago School of Economics approach to capitalism has been a huge failure. He is now a Keynesian.

I get it now. Lying and misinformation has always been. Jupiter in Gemini just makes the lies more obvious??

It’s the Gemini flipping one way and the other that confuses me (ie. romnesia’s gemini rising). What can I say I just can’t take what is said at face value. That has gotten me into alot of trouble. SN Gemini. Hard lessons take years of learning. So gem has taught me to be more aware, and look a little deeper. 8th house gem??

I was thinkin back to the crook I worked for 12 years ago Jupiter in Gemini. I mean I did not know he was a crook when I took the job. But he paid really good, that should have been a clue. He liked to mess with the financial records when I was out of the office. Counted on confusion to hide misdealings. Yeah, I had to quit that one.

And @flip, there is something to that what supports beliefs is deemed true while what does not support beliefs is deemed lies.
