Monday morning the Libra Moon conjuncts the Libra Sun, a new moon. This is a terrific amount of fresh start energy in a cardinal sign (cardinal energy gets the ball rolling). The new moon takes place at 22 degrees. It juices up the planets it aspects in your natal chart and brings extra positive emphasis to whatever area of life it is transiting by house. This is the moment where the darkest moon possible meets the moment when light begins, a perfect metaphor for coming out of the dark, into the light: a fresh start going forward.

One interesting thing to note is its lack of close aspect to any major planet. It stands apart which concentrates that vital energy even more. At the beginning of the summer Saturn stationed direct on this degree and is now at the beginning of Scorpio in a major shift of energy. This new moon brings an opportunity to take the culmination of the events of the summer and use that energy, put a capstone on that past and move forward into the future.

By midday the Moon moves to a point in Libra where it still holds conjunction with the Sun and reaches into conjunction with Saturn, forming a bridge, or perhaps a train is a better explanation. The Moon also trines Neptune in Pisces. Pay attention to how you feel at this new beginning. It really can be magical and lasting.

Mercury in Scorpio sextiles Venus in Virgo (Marcury’s sign). Both aspect Jupiter. This is a fabulous time for deep thinking and really making some positive sense of where you’ve been, where you are, and where you’re going. It’s a great time to philosophize, but not at the expensive of going so wide that you don’t see your own part in things. This isn’t the best time to broadcast such personal awakenings just yet. It’s a very good time, however, to mull them over in your head or share on a limited level with those who will add value to your thoughts.

By evening the Moon moves into Scorpio conjuncting Saturn in sign and trining Neptune and Chiron in element as well. It’s a good time to slow down emotionally and pay attention to the shifting reality. There’s an element of the disturbing here; it can nudge your sensitivities. However, in such good aspect that will generally have a positive outcome.
