Sensing Trends in the Collective

September 29th, 2012 @ 5:49 am by Elsa

8th house

There was a thread on the boards yesterday, Hollywood’s New Bible Stories. I’ve been saying for awhile, I feel religion is making a comeback so I was not surprised when I say the article in Wall Street Journal. I have seen religious-themed merchandise showing up in mainstream outlets over the last month or s as well, which is very telling.

I have always paid close attention to trends.  Not fashions trends but deep shifts in the collective, which would be a Pluto Moon thing. I always seem know which way the wind will be blowing next.  This comes to me one way or the other.

I don’t feel this is because I am psychic. I can easily access any undertow and feel that knowledge of what is going on beneath the surface is an 8th house thing.

For example, a person can be talking and saying one thing, but if gut is going in a different direction and I will know that. Happily I can converse on either level, or both simultaneously, and I like it. Of course I like it, it’s my world.

Can you sense trends in the collective? How? What do you see shifting at this time?

Forever 21 has a bible verse on the bottom of their bag. They also use child labor. But I buy their shit anyway, cuz some of it is cute.

Thanks for mentioning that, valerieplame. Very interesting to me. :)

I keep reading that something is going to happen. I keep waiting. I feel like I’m living on the edge. Ready to take action. I don’t like it.

I do, sometimes, yes.

Sometimes people talk really fast (or slow) about what they want and how they feel and it is not at all what they want or how they feel. This is pretty common, actually. A majority, I’d say.

It’s easier to blather than it is to go deep.

I can’t sense trends in the Collective; I am oblivious to it. I do sense other things, though. Chiron/IC can sense the root of a person’s pain like it’s a neon sign blinking.

I was usually ahead of ‘fashion’ in my look, but not because I could foresee what was coming in any conscious way – it was just instinctive. For example that 1970 look in the pic: I was wearing that style in the late 60s when others were still in boxy Mary Quant or Biba.

One thing I’ve always been able to pick up on is sexual links between people – unerringly I used to know when two people were having sex, no matter how secret they thought it was, and when nobody else had clocked it.

BML in Scorpio opp my Moon, maybe?

I have to sub due my intensity for going deep….freaks people out. My gut it pretty uncanny, unless it has to do with finances.

I am riding Renees wave as well. Kinda paranoid.

Interesting…what are the aspects happening now that portend a comback for religion?

Babs, Neptune in Pisces, for one.

@babs, agree with, kash. Also, Pluto’s transit through Sadge was the low point, so we would very naturally see religion make a comeback.

Compare this to a wooded area, burning to the ground. There is a bleak period, almost a dormancy, and then the leaves start to come back and eventually the forest recovers and becomes as lush as it ever was.

Other signs of this, the Catholic church has suffered a shortage of priests for years now, but as of this year, the seminaries are again, full to capacity.

I have always had an uncanny ability with fashion/clothing trends ever since I was a kid. I would get teased for wearing certain things by the same kids who a year or two later would be wearing the same look.

In some ways I’ve felt like I’m “ahead of the curve” and I often have and do act, think, say or arrive at things that nobody likes or wants to hear…until suddenly they’re saying them to me a few years later as though they just came up with it (and didn’t make me feel crazy or stupid about it when I brought ‘em up earlier)!

It used to drive me nuts but now I don’t have so much invested in my own ideas about the world…as I get older I don’t feel such ownership over my thoughts or something.

Still. I don’t like thinking too much about myself that way because I’m afraid I’ll get a big head…or maybe my real fear is being perceived like I am full of myself…that I will come across that way. I don’t want to be seen as a pretentious know it all. I don’t know if that is entirely positive either. One has to own themselves and their strengths to be healthy, happy and productive.

In some ways I’d rather not think the way I do at all ’cause it seems to be fraught with potholes (self and not self-inflicted). But that’s a rather pointless thought to have about one’s self on some level.

I love this analogy!

This frightens me. I don’t want to be like this.

I do sense broader shifts, I never thought of this as being Pluto Moon, but I do have that placement (opposition, plus moon is my ruling planet).

Problem is, I cannot usually formulate my thoughts into words in this area (Mercury in 12th?).

I’ve been getting an impression for a while that the whole “getting things done by the force of your personality,” a.k.a. “swinging dick syndrome” is *over*.

Although, when I consider the economy, it puzzles me why this would be so.

I think people trying to do business are going to get a lot of yawns if they try to put their forceful personality first, vs. doing their homework and focusing on the business benefits.

Anyway, that’s my poorly worded (as usual) 2 cents…

Is it just me or is the 70′s fashion pic so much warmer and feminine and … what I’d want to wear compared to the 2012 which is stark and a-sexual? Or is that just me? The a-sexual probably comes from the clinical white colors…

@ mudlikesubstance, I agree the 70′s fashion are strong, flowing and feminine. I wore these clothes in the 70′s. The current fashion is stark and a-sexual. In the 70′s, our mantra was “do your own thing”. Everyone is on the same page today, fashion, trends, twitter.

I wore flowers in my hair in the 70′s. I have always preferred feminine clothes. Jeans are for utility only…like if you are going to ride a horse or something.

Matter of fact, I rode my motorcycle in a dress, many times.

Ok I’m distracted- the 70′s in the pic is from the 70′s or 70′s inspired? The waved hair looks modern, as does the midriff with the sheer almost tank top- shoes, too. Makeup does not look 70′s.

Just wondering!
