Over the weekend the most pervasive influences come from the t-square of Mercury, Pluto and Uranus, and the Venus-Mars square from Leo to Scorpio. Communications and perceptions are affected by the long-haul challenge of the destruction of barriers and infrastructure in order to innovate. Also, getting what you want is challenging but can be done with some work and strategy. The good news is that this is not new news and we’ve had enough of this energy to understand it a little better. The bad news is we’ve had enough.

All weekend, Jupiter sextiles Venus and applies into a wide trine with Mercury. The energy is available to philosophize, take your desires, perceptions and communications to a higher level, appreciate what you DO have and express that gratitude. This is an effective way to neutralize tension and bring out the best in yourself and others. Snoopy once said: “A kiss on the nose does much toward turning anger asunder.” So does a genuine (Jupiter) compliment (Venus and Mercury).

Many are weary of strife and genuine appreciation is well-received. If you can fake that, you’re got it made. Humor is also key.

Friday night the Moon in Sagittarius opposes its ruler Jupiter while trining Venus. While there is much tension, we’re still talking about a bouncy, Tigger heart with built in resistance to stress and suppression. Sport and optimism, adventure and the need for a good story rule. Get on out there and dance or do the things you like to do as the mood (Moon) strikes you. If you can connect to the mood for adventure you can bring others up along with you. In line with the idea of a genuine compliment, you’ll have a lot more success with “Come with me, it’ll be fun! I want YOU along for the ride!” You’re asking this person in particular for a reason. Are they special and important to your good time? Let them know! Maybe that’s the piece they need to get fired up.

Saturday night the Sun and Moon go cardinal, the Sun into Libra and the Moon into Capricorn. This of course highly accents the cardinal t-square. But the Jupiter-Venus-Mercury action is still in effect. This excess of cardinal energy, while irritating is also highly motivating: time to get things started. The added emphasis here on Mercury, Moon and Sun is likely to trigger deep and unusual thoughts (and emotions over those thoughts), mulling over who you are and where you are emotionally. Naturally some will wish to communicate and some will wish to go deeper alone.

For many, this is a great time to share these new thoughts and impressions, provided you keep hold of that Jupiteran energy and use the Libra Mercury to balance your communications with generosity, good will (Jupiter to Venus) and humor. The Capricorn Moon has a reputation for depression, however, it also can herald a responsible mood where one keeps good emotional boundaries and controls oneself!

All weekend Neptune trines Saturn out of sign and quincunxes the Sun as it moves from mutable to cardinal. Keep the ego drives in check using a mixture of fantasy and reality. This influence calls for moderation in all things but makes it simple enough to access with just a little self-possession. It is also possible to manipulate reality in regard to your ego. Have a movie, play some music to moderate your grip on the kind of day you want to have. Have a drink, just don’t have ten and you’ll be fine.

With Mars in Scorpio square Venus in Leo and all the cardinal energy this weekend, for some there is a temptation to play the detective, see what’s under the “shiny”. There’s an intense interest in what is going on behind the scenes. While the drive is keen, keep in mind that a negative act like snooping rarely has a positive outcome. Even the simple act of sleuthing where nothing “bad” is found changes the heart of the sleuth themselves. It is dark. If you must snoop, do so in a way that breaks no one’s trust.
