“You’ve got to spread joy up to the maximum, bring gloom down to the minimum, have faith or pandemonium’s liable to walk upon the scene.”
Thursday the Moon in Leo starts out in sextile to Jupiter and square to Mars. Mars and Jupiter quincunx. This creates an aspect pattern, a closed circuit of energy that feeds back continuously, creating a type of flow where all three interact. The sextile is an aspect of opportunity, the square creates challenge, and the quincunx goes back and forth between challenge and ease.
Jupiter inflates, the Moon feels and Mars acts. With the Moon in Leo the mood is Sun-ruled, clean, generous, but Leo also has a penchant for drama. This is exacerbated by the aspect to Jupiter. Since Jupiter also hits Mars, the need to act is heightened, but Mars in Scorpio is Pluto-ruled. Mars in Scorpio is powerful and can be devastating, but it also has the capacity for subtlety and advance planning when that power is used to modulate the impulse to act. The initial urge here is to shoot first and ask questions later, given the Jupiter influence and the Leo drama, but strategy can be brought to bear, particularly when higher principles are employed (Jupiter) and one is feeling magnanimous (Leo Moon).
The Moon’s ruler, the Sun, in Virgo, conjuncts Mercury in Virgo. This makes for an atmosphere that supports critical thinking and the likelihood of choosing service to others over the drama of the moment. It also grounds the ego energy and calms those likely to shoot themselves in the foot. Where is this likely to pop up, the shooting thing? Well, Pluto and Uranus still aspect Venus, creating situations that can highlight possessiveness and jealousy. Uranus here is actually a help as it trines Venus and brings the ability to distance oneself and innovate. Add in Pallas conjunct Uranus and there is the ability to change the patterns in how you address this condition.
By evening the Moon sextiles Saturn and opposes Neptune. The leonine generosity of spirit sets the mood to create the opportunity to change one’s emotional reality, to take the high road, the mature stance.
