Fashion Through The Zodiac

Fall Fashion Aquarius One thing is certain when we talk about Aquarius-type dressing and that is things will be different. The Aquarius dresser dresses for their lives and much of who they are can show in their fashion. Trailblazers who will try just about anything that catches their eye, they blaze their own trail and leave others to just follow or move on out of their way! Fun to watch and exciting to see, the Aquarius-type dresser is in a world of their own. If it’s new they may try it or they may turn up their nose at it, but most of the time the Aquarius dresser has fun with their clothes and knows no rules. If they get it wrong, it seems to work for them, and when they get it right they can set trends. Self styled, we can only tell them what the designers are bringing to the table and let them decide what is “them” and what they will reject.

Having a strong 11th house myself I relate to this sort of dressing, and I can leave whole trends in the dust no matter how many people are wearing them. An Aqua likes what they like and forgets what everyone else would choose, for having the Aqua-style dresser’s attitude I can tell you what is out there for you and let you do the picking as to what fits you!

The Aqua dresser often dresses like the groups they belong to. They are ones to join groups that are interested in what they are interested in no matter how bizarre the style is. You might find them in the indie band’s touring T-shirt that everyone wants to find. They may own vintage tees in just about every category they might be interested in and the tees will be to die for. They often have a talent for making or designing their own clothing or tweaking their clothing once they buy it.

Usually the Aqua dresser has jeans of some sort and this year you can expect the same flares, skinny jeans, bootcut and the newer pattern jean. You can mix patterns if you wear the patterned jeans and make them yours which is something you might try to personalize them. I am not one to be a fan of patterned jeans but you may love them. I love printed pants, however, in any leg! Finding a pair of patterned pants and matching another print entirely with them is very hip and something you can do. Wearing great prints is something an Aquarius dresser does with flair, so now is the time to get into the boutiques you like or stores and pick up some more prints that make you think out of the box.

Fall Fashion Aquarius Dressing out of the box is what the Aqua type is best at and some like to dress is the ethnic prints of some countries other than their own. Ethnic prints look smashing on you, Aqua, so indulge if that is your thing. Prints are you and if you dress 70′s, this is still the time to go long or short with your hems and layer blouses that flutter with patterns that are subtle over them. Print mixing is best if you match the same base color in each piece but you would be surprised what you can come up with when you start pairing your prints. It’s a skill to mix prints, but if you wrap your head around it and start with one look, it will come to you and you might like what you see!

Slouchy pants like boyfriend jeans, dressed up with beautifully patterned blouses look new for fall. Top the look off with trench or one of the new shaped coats and you have a look that will take you anywhere. Whether you wear patterned pants and a solid shirt or a patterned shirt and solid pant you can throw over one of these new shaped coats and look brand new. These new shapes for coats and jackets are space age so they aren’t for everyone but Aqua types can pull them off in a wink. Look for strong shoulders, wide bodies and wide shoulder coats. Almost a throwback to the 80′s, these coats make a statement whereever they go!

Fall Fashion AquariusYou are not one to wear a dress unless it is a requirement for work and even then you will probably buck the system so if you are looking for dresses think about knit dresses belted at the waist to go with your slouchy boots and floppy hats, or turn around completely the other way and go for a dressy, girly dress and top it off with an outrageous oversized faux fur. Sweaters this season can be great for you because they look hand knit and are one of a kind. Oversized sweaters to wear with leggings, short or long skirts or over jeans look new and fun this season so keep an eye out!

AquariusLittle twists are great for the Aquarius dresser. Green fingernails and toenails or a lovely shade of khaki on the nails is a smash because they can carry it off! A leopard bag worn with something unexpected works and shoes that have multi colors are perfect for you. The Aqua dresser can wear what you and I might not be able to get away with and make it soar! Platform sandals with winter socks look smashing as do socks coming out of your boots a bit! Hair colors that are shocking work great for Aquarius-type dressers and the blond look with a few streaks of multi-colored hair on one side is a great look for them. There are fantastic new colors for hair that the Aqua dresser can pop in here and there to make their hair happen. I’ve known Aquarius dressers who wear their hair the same way, such as dreads or braids all their life and it becomes their trademark. The trick is in the attitude and Aquarius has it in spades. Most worry what others think about their style but Aquas only worry about what they like and let others deal with it. We have to love them for this as they set trends and cement them wherever they go! If the Aquarius dresser works in a field that is very conservative they will find a way to twist it up, to be themselves, even if they are working with a uniform or suit. A deep or bright shade of hair looks great on Aquarius as do funky cuts they design themselves or with hairdressers. They look new and fun no matter what the arena and are sure of themselves.

What the Aquarius dresser needs to do is to take care of skin and hair. They may try this or that with these areas and forget to take good care by taking vitamins and using conditioning products on skin and hair. They can be ones to wear their curl out but must remember to condition those curls as they sport them. The Aquarius dresser is very aware of what makes them different and uses these qualities in body and manner to the very best end. Try updos with your hair in casual ways that don’t keep it close to your head. Sport a sixties or seventies look if it fits your body and your eye. The idea is to not change your style but pump it up with what is new each season, picking what you like. Unusual accessories work well so long as they do not hold an Aqua down, so scarves, jewelry and even huge wraps are all ideas to try.

Coats this season have Aquarius all over them. The coats this season are garden patterned, oversized, unusual and very different. Many will go safe this year anyway with coats but Aqua dressers should look into a new coat this year of all years! Think in terms of blanket looks, patterned coats and outer space shapes. Colored tights are still all the rage, so wear them with your dresses if you love dresses and mix and match your colors never wearing the same color tights as your skirt or dress. Faux fur is huge this season in strange and new ways to think about a jacket with fur sleeves or fur used in different ways than you are used to seeing. I know this is a flurry of ideas for Aquarius but that is the way they plan their look and put themselves together. An Aqua dresser is less likely to run out and buy a full outfit of trends and more likely to punch up their already hip style with new ideas.

When we think about Aquarius faces, makeup and hair, we once again land in the area of what works for them. If your hair is unique, play it up! If your face is unusual and you have eyes like pools of light, as many of you do, play those up with colored eyeliner near the base of the eyelashes and blend well. Aquarius dressers’ eyes are almost reflective so having a special way of making them up can be a great idea. I like Aqua eyes with a subtle hint of deep green or blue eyeliner smudged very close to the base of the eyelashes with just a hint of mascara on the tips. I love to see Aquarius-type eyes with eyebrows that don’t take over the face but with defined arches and more than a line for an eyebrow. Too heavy eyebrows seem to take away from their great eyes so keep this in mind!

A nude lip looks smashing as does a dark, dark but sheer lip tint over a natural lip pencil that lines the mouth and even fills it in. If you have a neutral lip pencil, try lining your lips with it then subtlety filling in the lip area with it before applying your lipstick. Use a brush to get the lipstick perfectly up in the buds of your mouth and to line the bottom of the bottom lip. A nude lip of a color that almost makes them disappear only adds to the wonderful magic that is Aquarius style and lets their eyes rule.

I’ve thrown a lot of ideas out there for Aquarius dressers to browse. It is best to let you check out trends and ideas and let you choose for yourself. Some things are great rules for you to dress by. One important rule is to be yourself no matter how unique that is. Another great rule is to play up your eye with your hairstyle or makeup. Design yourself in a way that is useful to you but also shows you care and you can’t miss. You wear everything for a reason and that reason is important to you. Please post your questions and stories below and let me know how Aquarius-touched dressers are thinking this fall!

I have a khaki nail polish that shows a slight pink glow, in the right light… Aquas are always mesmerised by it!!

& oh, their collections of vintage tees… yes, to die for ;)
