The End Of Saturn In Libra: Taking The Long View

During Saturn in Libra I tried to solidify my love relationship. We got engaged. And then it ended. Did I fail at Saturn in Libra? No, I may be single, and that in itself is not as I would wish, but I did the right thing when I consider it in the long view. The transit of Saturn through Libra showed me that relationship (Venus) would not stand the test of time (Saturn). But that doesn’t mean I am not benefitting. I am, in fact.
This transit has helped me to restrict myself in relationship, to “grow up” many of my ingrained ways of relating that were choking off avenues to growth as a partner. Many were able to do this and improve their existing love relationship, but I was not. However, one on one relationships are not just romance. One on one, serious friendships also fall into this category. While my partnership died on the vine, many of my friendships have matured and reached a new level of closeness.
Because I have refined the way I interact one on one, no matter who I relate to in the future the results are likely to be far healthier and successful. I could look at the ending of my engagement and my single state as a failure, but I do not. This would be a failure if I refused to see reality (Saturn) and mature.
Who I am has not fundamentally changed but my perception of reality and the way things work most definitely has. I am growing. I have realized that to create and enforce boundaries is not necessarily as harsh as it might seem. It is a kindness to embrace object reality and operate within its bounds. Kindness is only kind (Venus) if it reflects reality (Saturn) and creates a long-term (Saturn) benefit (Venus).
I may not have the committed relationship I hoped for through this transit, but I now have the realistic hope of sustaining something real when I am given the opportunity in the future. So wherever you are in your Libran/7th house/relationship status right now, partnered or single, you can take a look at the skills you have acquired, the maturity you have cultivated, and maybe you too have gained.
Some people will come out of this with the huge bounty of a healthy new crop in their field. But perhaps you are like me and started with an extra-weedy, rocky terrain. In that case it’s a huge accomplishment if we are starting Saturn’s transit of Scorpio with just an even, tilled planting surface. I say if you are in any way ahead of the game and ready to move forward, you can join me and call it a win. There are plenty of late-season crops that are planted beyond the regular growing seasons of spring and summer. And let’s face it, it’s always harvest time somewhere in the world.

This was excellent. I so relate. I wasn’t in a romantic relationship during Saturn in Libra (unless I get in one soon…unlikely), but I learned so much that will prepare me for one.
You’ve summed up the last 5 years for me. Boy were those some tough lessons. Although the scars are still tender, I am very thankful to be moving forward rather than drowning in stagnant water. I hope for the best for all of us who “lost” during this time!
Satori, Saturn entered Libra a few months after I broke up with a longterm relationship. That was for the best.
I´m single, but a lot more relationship -wise.
I have distanced from false friends.
I have refined my tastes,
I have learn social skills as far as relating with people in general and the opposite sex.
I have learn (and still learning) to set boundaries in relating.

I SO understand you, Satori! Often, I feel that you and I are on the same path. As you have said to me, in so many words, you have to let Saturn & Pluto do their jobs of clearing out what is NOT working so that something else can come in that does.

I was in a relationship that took a major toll during this Saturn in Libra but I learned something invaluable; shared responsibility in maintaining the relationship, mutual respect, reciprocation, and equal play. When those things are off there’s no hope for something to go forward, no matter how much I may want it to 
Learned to let go and begin with myself before I head into any type of long term relationship. Concentrating on building my business relationships now (pretty 8th house and Scorpio potentially?)

I’ve pulled a lot of weeds out for this proverbial transit. Wow. I definitely feel like my field is empty but I’m also not feeling bad about it. In fact I’m relieved because I can be receptive to new opportunities that I would’ve had to reject if I had chosen to stay in my dysfunctional LTR.

Thank you Satori! I have cut away away from a lot of friendships and a very long term relationship during this transit. I have learnt a lot but will definitely be getting more lessons when Saturn in Scorpio passes over my stellium and other sensitive planets.
I am currently at a standstill with my mate. We deeply love each other but I feel I’m letting us go by not forgiving a past hurt. I either have to get over it and start anew or just leave. There is such a richness that this relationship offers and I know being alone I will going back to being closed off.I’ve been there and done that. I’m going to work at forgiveness and allow all the positive qualities to flow freely. No wonder Im with a Pisces Taurean. I think I’m finally allowing him to weed the garden with me and together plant a seed to grow. His words too.

Oh Satori I love you. This is IT! You see the last time I just wanted a partner soooooo bad I didn’t look past anything else. You have just said 6 short little paragraphs what I have been trying to articulate for the past two years. I will not enter into a superficial relationship for the sake of a relationship. I want real(Saturn) intimacy(scorpio) with my emotional investments(moon in capricorn) and Pluto in cappy is purify through maturation for me.
Stand on your own two feet, grow up, and be a whole person so you can give 100% to another and not just be someone’s other half.
