Astrology Today: August 19, 2012 – A Contemplative Mood
“Though I’d like to look down on the earth from above, I would miss all the places and people I love. So although I may go I’ll be coming home soon, ’cause I don’t want to live on the Moon.”
–Sesame Street
Sunday the Moon in Virgo starts out a bit on its own without aspecting any of the usual planetary suspects. This makes for a pensive mood. It applies into a sextile with marriage asteroid Juno which can bring up feelings about partnering and commitment. Juno can also be sexual or in a more literal interpretation, vengeful. The Virgo Moon is discerning, earthy and organized at its best. At low moments it can definitely foster a critical mood.
The mood can go either way. If you’re feeling disorganized or behind the 8-ball, make a plan, organize something, ground yourself. Virgo is mercury ruled, so if you are on track it’s likely to feel pretty good to be introspective OR to socialize, whatever is your natural propensity. Maybe you’re one of those people who can do both! With Mercury currently in Leo, it’s a good bet that whichever way you go, it’s likely to be dynamic.
By evening the Moon hits the midpoint of the Sun-Mars sextile. With Mars conjuncting Saturn and the Sun in Leo, a great way to bring up your energy is to to exercise your ego and move your body, get something done: work at it. This brings satisfaction.
Even later the Moon moves into Libra, the transition smoothed by a quincunx to Neptune in Pisces. Balance out with some music or a movie, or hit the hay after a long day. This is a great setup for some lovely dreams!

This day was horid! Of course it could have been worse. It was really bad though. It’s like a bus hit me but not that hard. I survived but I am not sure for how long. It’s the worst to get hit by a car and not to have been totally finished. Because then you have to endure the pain and work on getting back to normal which no one ever is. A saying my father always told me, once a string is broken in two the only way to put it back together is by knotting the two pieces. The knot will always be there. (FYI – I did not get hit by a car but it’s a metaphor for my horid day.)
