Virgo women, deep down you are woman who likes to look nice. It may not be the first thing on your mind or even the fifth thing on your mind to go shopping and have a good time but you like to look nice, pulled together and yes, attractive! It’s something that if you try, you will like; putting yourself together well is a fun thing once you commit to it. A mind-girl, you think before you feel. Art and fashion are about feel in a lot of ways. But, you can think your way through it and come up with what you love best: a uniform.

Virgo-type dressers, those who dress for Virgo, like a uniform that they can put on and it will match, look attractive, not take too much time at all while serving all their purposes. Making a good impression is something you understand on a basic level and you can even have a bit of fun if you let yourself go. I know, I know, letting yourself go in the realm of fashion is the last thing you had in mind, but follow me here and we’ll see if we can give you some ideas for your fall uniform that will work! Know we fashion types love you Virgos for you are, so new to it all that your basic delight when you look fab thrills us to no end! We love to watch you blush and look delighted when you are told you look beautiful for it is sweet on you and just so very, well, Virgo!

The Virgo-type dresser’s uniform usually starts with pants, leggings, skirts or dresses. It does not start with dresses unless dresses are the best thing for them to wear to be comfy or unless their job calls for dresses and skirts. Pants are usually a choice for Virgo because they are so comfy, and jeans are on their list too. If you choose pants, there are some basics to go by. Pants this season will be straight and cut to the body. Many pants are patterned and made of prints this season. The printed pant is a fad and will last a while if you invest in it, so decide based on what you prefer, pants of one color or pants in prints.

Flares are still here and they will stay. Flares can balance out a wider hip or wider upper body so choose flares if you feel you are a bit pear shaped or have a large bust. Don’t discount flares because you think they are frivolous because they serve a purpose in balancing out your figure. If you choose leggings think in terms of well fitting leggings of cotton or cotton blend that are footless and hit you at your ankle. You are best wearing them with tunics and the like, so choose them if you have a job that allows you to dress how you want and be comfy. As for skirts and dresses think about the fact that this season you will see prints of all shapes and sizes as well as colors but we can get you through this jungle with a minimum of frustration.

If you are dark haired, have dark eyes and eyebrows or dark skin, you will most often find that darker colors look best on you. You can also wear bright colors but steer clear of neon and pastels. If you are light featured with light eyebrows and skin, pastels are your friend and you can look hard in deep dark colors. If you are lighter skinned and featured you want to stay in the earthy tones or pastels.

Prints this year are things like “photo prints” which means a photograph type print right on your skirt or dress. They are best worn with a solid leg, meaning solid tight or legging. The other prints out there are brocade, which can add pounds, and all sorts of swirled colors in prints you can have a good time with. The Virgo dresser looks great and feels right in earth tones such as browns, blues, greens, corals and maybe a drop of black. Look for these colors in your prints and look for what catches your eye as pretty to look at to find your taste.

Think of blouses instead of T-shirts or those shirts made of T-shirt fabric. Since you think everything though, think in terms of what color dominates the print and try to pair what else you wear with that color. I recommend that Virgos choose two or three colors to build their wardrobe around and keep it simple. If you choose brown, green and coral, for example, buy prints, pants and dresses in prints in this family of colors and match your legs to these colors as well if you live in cold climate and wear tights and such. These colors mix and match so you can wear them matching or mix them up for a fun look on your body. Using these colors as an example you could wear a coral print skirt, a brown blouse and brown tights or leggings. You could wear a green tunic with the same brown tights or a brown patterned dress with coral tights for a pop. Just choose your colors, hit the stores and start to build your fall wardrobe with a uniform of colors in your mind.

If you stick to two or three colors you can build a great wardrobe out of just a few pieces that can be built on each year for years to come. You can add accessories like scarves, jewelry and hats that set off this color family and have a pulled together look. Remember to choose from the rich colored prints this season and think about your basic colors mixed with any other colors, even metallic, so long as your base color in the print is one of your chosen colors. Sweaters can be had in your color family and added to the mix. Think about tunic length sweaters with leggings and oversized sweaters with skirts. Try waist length sweaters with skirts or over dresses. Remember one or two things when you shop: patterns rule the season and the waist is what you should be accenting so belt your oversized pieces or dresses that have no waist. Give up your empire cut pieces as you can and move toward the figure of having a waist or nipping your clothing higher or lower than you have been in seasons past.

Virgo-type dressers and those who dress for Virgo remember to look at fabric content before you buy. You usually can’t stand a man-made fabric on your body so think about labels that say “wool,” “cotton” and the other natural fibers, and it’s okay to have a slight mix of something man-made to help with shape or fit. You don’t have to have a pure fabric, you just need to have primarily natural fabric in your choices and just a hint of something synthetic. You hate to fuss over your clothing as well so if you don’t want to dry clean, think about looking at care labels. Remember you can refresh your dry cleanable fabrics now by buying a home kit for your dryer to use on your dry cleanable fabrics between washings at the dry cleaner. Never dry your clothing even if the label says it’s okay. Wash and lay out your clothing and remember to shape it before it dries. Use a fabric softener in the washer for comfort and shape if you don’t mind scent but pure fabrics usually don’t get too much static when they are washed.

Shoes for Virgo must be comfortable and able to be worn with many different looks. Many shoes are colored now and would punch up your wardrobe so stick to that color family and try a colored shoe or even a two-toned shoe! It all matches if you stick to your color group so why not sport some color? Heels can be funky on many shoes this season but don’t let that scare you off! I recommend you buy a new pair of boots this season and think about the short bootie cut you can wear with dresses or pants. These boots can be found in flat platform looks that are very easy to wear and look smashing or shorter heels that look ladylike and feminine but are not hard to wear because the heel is an inch or an inch and a half. Check out places online like “Zappos” which has every price point covered and just about any shoe available that you would need. If you find a label that you like but can’t find the heel height or color you want, think about coming home and looking online for the label you like and shopping their whole line. Just get your size from a department or shoe store and online shop your favorite labels while perhaps saving some money as you love doing! You adore a good deal so remember to research your favorite pieces online to find great deals and more choices. A Virgo watches their pennies but will pay a fair price for a good product so get your money’s worth!

Hair this season is just your style. To wash and wear or wash and blow dry is the way to go. Long hair is curled on the ends instead of wrapping it around a curler or curling iron, taking the work out of doing your hair. Get used to washing your hair every other day or every third day to keep it healthier and to keep its color true if you tint. There are great new styles that are easy to deal with that hit just at your lip line, your chin or your shoulder. The hair should be cut according to your natural hair type and the way it falls so you have the easiest time styling it. Blonde does not rule the day this season so if you have very light hair and have not gone brown or auburn, try it this season for great results. There are new dyes on the market that deposit conditioner into the hair shaft and leave it soft and supple. If you have curly hair try to find a cut that shapes your curls in the very best way. If you have wavy hair find a good stylist that can cut your hair to maximize wave and let your hair do its thing and be interesting.

Add product for the look because product is what hairstyles are about these days. There are products to hold your curls or waves if they are weak on their own and products to smooth your hair if you like to blow it dry. Ask a pro about hair products and remember they may be pushing their own line so try a salon that carries a lot of lines so you can find your perfect product. Good lines range in price point and some are Redkin’s new product line, Bumble and Bumble and Aveda for you Virgos types who like more natural product. Hair color can be kicked up a notch by using tint and some examples are a dark color on bottom and a lighter color falling over it or having your long hair with a lighter color on the bottom half. There are many crazy hair color ideas but Virgo types like to keep it as natural as possible so I won’t get into the crazy stuff until I’m writing for a different type of dresser.

Makeup is tricky for the person who dresses for Virgo. You don’t want anything on your face you see no reason for and this can be your season. If you wear a base, remember that bases do many duties now. There are bases that lift, add light, give you a slight exfoliating treatment, moisturize, and the mineral bases don’t aggravate skin, sink into it or cause you much trouble with your skin at all. Shop makeup for what your skin needs and the help it needs to find your perfect fit. Take the time to go to a makeup professional or department store counter, even a place like “Sephora”, and tell them your problems with your skin. These pros can steer you to the best products for your problems and you would be surprised what you can achieve with the right products now. Make your base work for you in the right way.

You can skip the blush this year but I like a Virgo with a dash of natural colored blush or a swipe of bronzer if they are the tanning type. Get your heart rate up to see your natural blush tone and you will be surprised. You might find that you blush a bright pink when you blush, for example! Find that color you turn when your face gets flushed and you are home free. A layer of mascara with a layer of primer underneath it is perfect for you. If you apply a primer first, you only need one layer of mascara most of the time. Maybe you’d like to smudge a bit of pencil liner on your upper lid line just to give your lashes a look of thickness or leave it off if you don’t want to take the trouble, you Virgo type you! A lipstick lasts longest if you use a primer on your lips, but your lipstick above all else if you are a person who dresses for Virgo should be the color of your lips but just a shade darker or lighter depending on your hair color. Stay in the rose family to keep your lips looking natural and line those lips to give them a great shape. Your lip liner should match your lipstick or be nude in color for best results but lining your lips makes a big difference in looking pulled together. A dust of the eyebrows you have shaped with a powder eyebrow color will make your eyes pop and you are ready to go!

The person who dresses for Virgo sticks with basics. This post is for those who, bless their hearts, don’t want to go to too much trouble to look lovely. I love dressing a Virgo because the slightest change shows so much on them and makes them look even lovelier!
