Fashion Through The Zodiac

fall fashion geminiGemini, Gemini, there are always two of you. You who dress for Gemini often have at least two wardrobes that are different from each other and which you dress in depending on the you that you want to present each day! Always fun and wanting their look to be a conversation piece, the Gemini dresser never fails to entertain! Whether you are preppy and boho, jeans and glam or 70′s and ladylike, you have two of you to dress and we love to watch you!

Let’s look at two of your possible choices this fall while remembering that the Gemini dresser could have two other choices depending on what they are thinking and who they are. The ladylike Gemini will have many dresses to choose from this season and prints are where it’s at! Whether it’s brocade or photo print, dresses have prints this season and they are completely featuring your waist. Pulled in at the waist these dresses are cut to your body. Don’t fear if you are not a size 4 because as long as the dress fits it will flatter your body and give you an hourglass shape.

Many dresses this season are exaggerating the hips to the point of adding fabric that sticks out to make your hips appear even larger! Yes, this is a strange shape to get used to but it might just catch on. To give you an hourglass figure is the goal and you can achieve this if you buy in your size without fear! There are plenty of great dresses out there for figures that are not model size and all it takes is a bit of adventure on your part to try them on in your size and see if they, indeed, are something you can swing out in! Again, prints are queen so look at all the crazy prints out there and let your Gemini mind run free to see what might appeal to you and to your audience. Since you do like to dress for others and see their reactions remember not to settle on a print until you look for interesting prints that you feel drawn to.

The new shoe for dresses has a substantial heel that is wider than shoes that have come before. Look for wide heels instead of stilettos and solid looking heels. Platforms will still rule the day but remember to marry your shoe to the ladylike dress that you will wear with it.

On the street, and on the other side of Gemini, we have the gypsy look. The gypsy look is gaining ground and will land in your city before you know it! The Gemini has to let their hair down and can handle something a bit complex so why not give the gypsy a try? Think about long skirts off the hip or jeans in flares that cover your shoes and almost touch the ground. Worn jeans are best for this look, and wear them with colorful print blouses that have sleeves that float. Use fringe, leather touches and beads, beads and more beads! Throw on two different prints in long skirts and blouses that share the same color for a real gypsy look to get them talking! Hoops in your ears or faux big, big diamond studs look sexy and fun on this look while accessories like scarves only add to the joy. Boyfriend jeans have a place in this so you can reuse your boyfriend jeans by wearing them with colorful blouses and shawls that even jingle when you walk! If you dare, take it all the way with head coverings like wide-brimmed hats in colors! Shoes for this look can be boots with platforms or any utility boot with a colorful sock peaking out. Leg treatments fit right in if your skirt is sheer, keeping you warm and adding more color! Buy yourself a pair of boots this season that can be worn with long, printed skirts and jeans that are light colored and do yourself a favor!

Hair for Gemini types has to be a conversation piece too! If your hair is long, you want to go for natural looking waves that are not neatly curled by a curling iron or curlers. To get this look add product to your hair that gives you some texture and either air dry or use a diffuser if your hair is long. The days of the neat rows of curls are leaving us so get used to your hair texture or start to play with it with product. Gels, pastes and spray in texturizers are all ways to give your layers some punch and get your hair looking smashing. If your hair is short, you want your wispy layers to do the same so have them flare out naturally by adding product and finger drying or air drying. Wispy layers look great and if they frame your face they and even better! A Gemini type needs to accent their eyes and they can do it one of two ways. The eye can be the focal point if your bangs are cut right to your eyes so you peak out under the hair or sweep bangs to the side and look out under one side! You can also feature your eyes by having your short layers frame your eyes and when you dry your hair make sure you separate them and place the layers around your eyes.

Makeup for the double-faced Gemini can go two ways. One way goes with the edgier looks the Gemini type may try and involves a kohl eye and heavier eye liner. Feature the eye and leave the rest of the face as matte as possible to get the drama you need. If you are featuring your wonderful Gemini eyes, you want to frame them and not have the rest of your face taking the eye away. Matte foundation works best so think about your skin care and remember that skin care does double and triple duty right now so shop around and get the product that deals with whatever complexion problem you may have! Brown spots, acne, wrinkles, and whatever else may be bothering you have treatments now that work and even base makeup that helps with problems!

If you are doing the ladylike look or preppy style you want to keep your makeup natural and play up each of your features in a subtle way. Use a mascara that is right for your coloring, black or dark brown if you have very light skin. A subtle blush that blends up and is blended well so it almost does not show is best. Use a smudged liner in black or brown to bring together your eyelashes and make them look thicker, and wear a lipstick that is close to your lip color so it just enhances your face. A clear complexion is important for this preppy or ladylike look so take good care of your skin by using facials and all of the great skin care lines that are flooding the market to help baby boomers with all sorts of issues!

The idea, Gemini, is to have fun! Let your look be a conversation piece and go ahead and have two wardrobes if it suits you! If you dress for Gemini you know of what I speak and already have a couple looks working now! Put your questions below and share your stories if you are a person who dresses for Gemini, because I’m sure they are great ideas and full of wit! Find your freak side and let it run while finding your serious side and honoring it for full time enjoyment of clothing. Remember to never let a print, haircut or any makeup style take away from your expressive eyes and face because these are the things about you that stand out and cause everyone to find you so loveable!

I like that black tulip skirt and I’m not a ruffle person. :)

Not a Gemini but I LOVE the outfits in the picture! Daring but feminine with a splash of the unexpected!

I love the contrast of the sharp edged blazer and the uberfemme ruffled skirt. Gorgeous!

I am a typical Gemini and yes it is true! We dress according to whatever mood we are in. I do love my jeans and t-shirt when I just want to chill but I also love getting glammed up to go on a night out or to a party.
I have been told I have expressive eyes, they are blue with a mixture of brown, green and grey. I find purple eyeshadow suits me as it makes my eyes bluer.
My best colours are white and pale pastels, I avoid black as this makes me look washed out!
Being a Gemini I also buy clothes on the spur of the moment and so I have now ended up with a huge wardrobe with several items I have never worn once! Same with shoes.
Does anyone else have the same problem?

zodiac, I have enough Gemini to have a few things I have purchased in this way! I do know that is Gemini thing but if you keep them long enough you may just buy on a whim and find you have something to wear with your pieces you find you haven’t wore!
