I have felt lacking in creativity lately, at least when it comes to to the public blog. Part of the reason is that the things I am interested in at the moment aren’t interesting to the people here, or they may just be incompatible somehow.
There is that, but other thing that has contributed is my husband and I have been watching all these TV episodes on Netflix, which is not usual for us. The shows have a formula and I wind up nodding off during them at least half the time. The stuff does not inspire me the way a movie does, even a bad movie, so I’ve noticed this.
I haven’t done anything to correct the problem, because it’s not much of a problem and I have so many other things pressing. But I realized my husband likes the structure and order these programs offer. It’s like math. He get’s the equation and then takes it in a creative direction.
I get my ideas on moonbeams in the air, I suppose. I get my ideas via instinct, or intuition. In some cases, my subconscious gets up to something; I may not even don’t even know what, but I’ll be off and running.
I don’t think I could adopt his way but I do appreciate it.
Where do your ideas come from? Does this differ from others? Can you add the astrology?

When I need ideas for paintings I will take myself for “field trips” to antique stores or museums and bring my camera. I think it is Mercury in Pisces in the 10th- going out in the world (10th) for artistic ideas (Mercury Pisces). I once spent the day at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum taking photos of tank engines with retirees. The place was so empty and they were happy to see me . . . lol.
I wanted to add that I was just thinking probably the Moon in Leo in the third would apply too.
I need to get out and about for color ideas for design ideas but just hanging around creative characters helps alot !
I get out and about a lot. Uranus rules my 3rd House and is opposed my 5th House Mercury, as well as conj. my MC.
When I’m moving, I think better. So when I’m riding around my mind just travels so so far. I’m a big believer in the power of pilgrimage. I have little pilgrimages on a day to day basis if I can. I’ll hop the bus, walk along the beach, wander aimlessly for an entire Saturday. That kind of thing. I often wonder how I’d adapt if I became a parent. This is a familial trait and I’m well aware of how difficult it is to assimilate.
My ideas come to me through my eyes. I either notice something in nature or from looking at magazines, photos on the internet.
I always worry that I’m going to run out of creative ideas, but it rarely (if ever) happens. Sometimes I can instantly get a ‘vision’ of what I want to design for someone and it even surprises me sometimes.
Aries Sun in the 5th House.
I’ve been told by more than a few of my clients that they have felt that I must have crawled into their heads when I design what they had ‘envisioned’ themselves, but couldn’t quite put it into words. – They don’t know that I’ve got my Mercury in Pisces, so I hear a lot ‘between the lines’.
For my writing I get ideas from imaginary conversations. Dreams are good for this too. Also while travelling, e.g. sitting in a car, train, on a plane, whatever. Mercury/Neptune conjunction in 3rd house.
I follow my instinct and my mood. I don’t force anything, instead I focus on attaining the ideal conditions for a creative idea to not only take root but to prosper. It’s like gardening – it is more about the cultivation of a bunch of good ideas than the focusing on ONE idea that is expected to be not just good but great.
I attain the ‘ideal conditions’ by minding my emotional state and my energy levels. By being disciplined. For example I have been in an expensive recording studio since Friday morning. I’ve prepared for this moment for about 8 months, by rehearsing, by experimenting, by problem-solving. So that this weekend, being in the studio, I only bring the fruits of my labors, not the stress, not the doubt or insecurity. Any good idea I’ve had this weekend can *flourish* because I’ve done the legwork to get to this ideal state.
Scorp Mercury in tight trine to Pisces Moon. I definitely get most all ideas intuitively. And I hate most TV shows. They are way too predictable to me, and I get bored watching. I am a news junkie though
I shouldn’t have said “hate most TV shows.” “Don’t enjoy” would have been a better choice of words.
There is a great book by the actress Eleonora Duse-The Mystic in the Theatre, where she talks about experiencing what she felt was like a lack of creativity or inspiration and what she did to help herself. It is a beutiful book and after reading your post I am going to read it again. I once had an acting teacher named Robert Patterson who was really strict and kinda mean,( One time he picked up a student and threw them outside onto the snowy sideewalk because he was late to class, I was never late after that) but all beginning students had to read a list of classics like Chekov, Dostoevsky, ect and watch classic films, we also had a list of Museums to see. I think he was trying to stimulate us and I am glad he did. I think you are being hard on yourself though, even though it feels real to you. Last week you had such a prophetic blog concerning the T square, taking into account,Saturn being in the last degree’s of Libra, ect. That seems to me great creativity also being in a position where you write every day.
I have my Moon in Gemini in my fifth house pretty heavily aspected. My astrologer and mentor Robert Marks say I have a need to communicate anyway once I start talking or writing I can go on and on and on……..
I get inspiration from art, books, movies, nature – I have venus conjunct pluto in 9th house.
I love to study.

Being an artist, I’ll make something materialise, whose aesthetic matches (or hopefully comes close to it) the stirrings in my heart. Whatever comes out, it’s due to my being in Love. It’s usually tangential, nonetheless !
