Jupiter In Gemini: Return To Open-Mindedness?

I rarely run across an open-minded person anymore. People are polarized and hot to defend their rigid beliefs.

I am hoping that Jupiter in Gemini interests people in the perspectives of others. I am hoping their minds (Gemini) become expanded (Jupiter) due to a preoccupation with the stories of people who live outside their realm (Jupiter).

I am hoping that communications (Gemini) increase (Jupiter). I am hoping that people are generous (Jupiter) with their wit and intellect (Gemini) and that they be stimulated (Gemini) by giving (Jupiter) and communicating (Gemini) their knowledge (Jupiter).

But mostly I’m hoping that closed minds, open. Because if you can’t open your closed mind, you’re hosed as far as I can see.

Could you be more open-minded? Do you feel pressure to be closed-minded?  What do you hope for with Jupiter in Gemini?

Boy Elsa, I hope for the same things! I’m no sick of the polarization too.

Right now Jupiter is transiting my 7th, but when it hits my 8th (still in Gemini), I am going to use that energy to discuss (Gemini) my parents desires for after their death (8th house).

I’ve spent the last year with two close friends dealing with the aftermath of losing loved ones, and have learned that these kinds of details can really muck things up if they aren’t clearly communicated beforehand. Talk about polarity, their family members are split and at a stalemate. It’s been awful, and I don’t want to see that happen to my family.

In May I started reading a book written by a Somali woman who escaped her arranged marriage and moved to Netherlands. Her story is so inspiring I’ve decided to read more books like this. It has a strong cultural layer and it offers perspective that can be used to interpret various global events.

I have it in me to be closed-minded with my Mercury sq. Saturn, but I’m trying to educate myself and question my beliefs when necessary. I have NN in Sag, it needs to be done.

Could you be more open-minded?
–I’m sure I could. Often I’m surprised to find ingrained bias and conditioning that I was unaware of–and gladly get rid of it when I do. Striving to be open minded is very important to me. It pleases my 9th house Mercury.

Do you feel pressure to be closed-minded?–There is pressure out there. It’s a call to conformity perhaps? It makes some people uncomfortable to be “the square peg” in their line of thinking. I’m not one of those people. I relish my ability to form independent thoughts.

What do you hope for with Jupiter in Gemini? You know, I haven’t pinned it down. I’d like for people to become more benevolent in their thinking. Optimistic. I’d love to see the steer away from “bring on the mass destruction and wiping out to aleve this pressure” and swing toward a philosophy of communicating with one another in order to solve our problems at hand. Of course, this is the Libra in me speaking.

Actually I think you just in a way opened my mind to thinking of Jupiter on my ASC in a different way. I’ve been thinking of Jupiter on my ASC as oh crap I’m going to have to fight against gaining weight! Now I think maybe it can be expanded communication and thoughts! I can use the energy differently! Increase my personal optimism. Actract people to me because I’m optimistic. Talk more, be noticed more, get myself out there more. All of those things would be good to set the stage for when it hits my second house cancer. All if those things could set the stage to increase my client base thus increase my income(2nd house)!!!

And I don’t like to talk with my mouth full so more talking would mean less eating :)

Thank you Elsa!

Would LOVE to see more open mindedness. This Libra is soooo tired of the extreme polarization. Can hardly have a decent exchange of ideas anymore.

Jupiter in Gemini is busy transiting my 7th house & will make 3 passes over my North Node in Gemini. Damned hard to communicate effectively when people are in a “my mind is already made up, don’t confuse me with the facts” mode! LOL

Working hard at this. I’m pretty open minded already but trying to balance it so as not to go too far the other way (total scam artist target!) lol

Solaire, is the book by Ayaan Hirsi Ali? I bought that a few years ago. Compelling story. She’s incredible woman. I bought it when I needed inspiration and encouragement. If she can go through what she endured, we can all survive anything. She’s one of my heroes.

I see biases in some of my ex-’friends’. They say they’re open minded then they go and criticize my opinion for being different. Dumped them. Not easy since we had a good number of things in common! It wasn’t just one incident that led to the falling out, it was a good number of incidents, then I decided to make it easier on them, LOL, and left them.

Hoping to have my communication with some people repaired…like CArRIE, to commnicate with my folks clearly about their wishes as well (I have Gemini in the 7th and 8th as well). My concern should I wait until Mercury goes out of retrograde?

Elsa, great picture to illustrated a spanning between two minds! I cross that bridge every day too on my way to work : )

I am getting alot of exageration. Which yes, means closed mindedness is more obvious. Ballooning imagined crisis into madness is very obvious. And the media, well I’ve thrown my tv out again. I just can’t get sucked into it.

Of course, the helpful part is my own large images which facilitate release of my own nonsense.

I read something a while ago, I can’t remember where, that liberals were more likely to mark only liberals or similar when searching in online dating, whereas conservatives were more likely to mark no preference. I was genuinely surprised by that. I’m not slagging on liberals per se, since I am one. But, in all honesty, I was one of those liberals filtering out conservatives. I decided that wasn’t fair, and I don’t like being outdone, so I marked no preference myself. Why cut off possibilities?

I have Jupiter and Uranus in Libra — I loathe unfairness, and with Venus in Gemini, it was probably doing myself a disservice in the first place. One of my few good points is readily admitting when I’m wrong.

I would happily partner with a Teddy-Roosevelt or Dwight-Eisenhower type, though a Limbaugh type is probably beyond my toleration level. :) But you never know until you try. In any case, if it comes to that, we’ll just cancel each other’s vote out, ha.

caribou, yes it is Ayaan’s book! I just finished reading it today and I’m hoping to get my hands on the second book one day. I absolutely loved it!

On a side note: What’s funny is that I got the book from a sibling. Jupiter in Gemini! :)

Funny, I have always felt open-minded. I guess it’s my chart ruler Jupiter in Gemini/6th:)

I’m opening my own mind and not so much looking for open-mindedness from others.
