“It doesn’t matter if he’s ugly…”

April 22nd, 2012 @ 1:14 pm by Elsa

Astrology in real life.

“It doesn’t matter if he’s ugly,” I told a Geminian client with Uranus aspecting her Venus in Aries, etc. “You’ve got to find someone smarter than you or you’ll never be happy. You’re looking for a genius, regardless of what he looks like because if a man is only mildly smart, this will never do over time. You’ll be bored out of your mind…”

Can you relate?

Yes, I can actually. I have a 9th house Venus in Aries trine a 1st house Uranus in Leo, and my moon and mercury over there in Gemini in the 11th house. I can completely relate.

“You’ve got to find someone smarter than you or you’ll never be happy.”

I wish I had a dollar for every time my Virgo best friend has said that to me! It’s true though, I have a low tolerance for stupidity.

Hm… I don’t care about intelligence necessarily (as long as they are similar to me), but I definitely need entertaining and someone good at conversation! Without that, it’s like, destined to end.

Gemini Sun/Venus.

I absolutely relate. I married a man who wasn’t quite as intelligent as me and it was a big mistake. We could both feel it. He had very high innate intelligence (which he used in his naval career) as it happened, but had never had the education to develop it

All my Cap esp my Cap Merc is not apt to suffer fools gladly ;) and having to bite one’s tongue continually isn’t conducive to a harmonious relationship of equality

I would guess this applies to Virgos too since we share Mercury with Gemini – I can’t stand shallow men (although that might be my Scorp. Rising too) – I can’t stand shallow ANYONE actually. I want a deeper thinker – I don’t think they have to be necessariarly smarter than me but they can’t be ‘surfacey’ – Does that make sense? (I actually prefer to be a bit smarter I think because Virgos are always right! lol! )

I have Gemini moon in the 11th sextiling my 9th house sun, as well as venus in aquarius. I am drawn to intellect first and foremost.

6th house Uranus, tightly trine Venus in Aries and opposite Mars in Gemini. Mercury in Gem too. So true for me. Also can’t be with someone with all the same tastes/interests. All about unexpected attraction/appreciation. :)

I can definitely relate! With my asc, moon, venus, sun in Gemini and a stellium in Virgo, smart men with a witty sense of humor are by far the ones I’m attracted to most!

I can relate to it, though maybe a bit differently…

I know I was born with my thinking patterns all screwed up. Or that was how it was seen, anyway.

I endured testing at research institutes, like I was some kind of alien specimen.

“Congratulations, you were born with both sides of your brain dominant and active! Only 1/2 of 1% of the population is born this way. But sorry, we can’t help you; there haven’t ever been enough of ‘your kind’ born this way to conduct any studies. You don’t end up living very long anyway under all the internal pressures.”

My Mercury and Venus are in mutual reception in signs each rules, trine my Moon. I was born with instantaneous comprehension and 100% retention of everything I read, heard, or saw. I played classical piano after 6 months of lessons at the age of 9 and danced my first recital on toes shoes at the age of 10.

“Genius”? I can’t stand the label. It’s always felt like it has separated me, distanced me, from the rest of Humanity. And that has hurt.

My hubby is a handsome man, with blue eyes the likes of Paul Newman. He also never graduated from high school and is genuinely a self made man.

Intellectuals bore me. Yes, it’s important to have a mind or at least half of one and use it but sense, is what matters to me, common sense, for with it comes Wisdom. It means a person cares enough to choose to value understanding, which is heart centered not head.

The man that has made me happy is the one I would have looked for the least.

I have Pallas and Venus in Aries in the 8th and smart is definitely sexy. with Uranus transiting that house it’s become far more important/prominent.

Yep. Gemini Venus in the 5th. I have a very low tolerance for male bimbos.

And my 8th house Virgo Moon also has a say, being mercury ruled.

So true. I’m watching a cousin who married a man who is plenty smart but not “educated” she belittles him constantly to the point that I find it painful to even talk to her on the phone about her husband.

I’m thrilled to have married so late in life, I waited for a man who was smart enough he didn’t bore the living sh**t out of me. :D It is so wonderful to be MATCHED with someone who is your equal. Not cookie cutter exact but I can walk him through my logic and he can walk me through his – we each have different viewpoints and insights but it’s a wonder to actually have him interested in worldly as well as practical things.

Mercury ruled, Gem and Aqua all up in the house. I totally agree. (Plus, the more affection I feel toward someone, the hotter s/he gets. *grin*)

Yes, and to go a bit further, I can not stand a guy who pretends to be smart, but is bullshitting all over the place.

Uranus Pluto Virgo 7th.
Saturn Venus ASC Aquarius.
Mercury Pisces.

Nerds who actually understand a scientific subject on a deeper level than anyone else. Sexy!

Too funny, and yes! I had a boyfriend once that I was soooo attracted to it was ridiculous. Physically I mean. I couldn’t stand listening to him. I used to want to tell him to just shut up and lets get down to business. We had all the hot sex aspects, but we were definitely not friends. He was a Gemini and had nothing going on upstairs. Very superficial and ego dominant. That’s why I never took him seriously, but it was fun for other reasons. I could never do that now. The guy has got to be able to teach me something. I did have a boyfriend once that i met at my very first astrology conference way back in the early 90s. He blew me away with his knowledge and his friendships with all these famous astrologers. I was in awe, and wanted to know what he knew and who he knew! I was attracted to his intellect, but alas, there was no physical chemistry at all. Sort of the opposite of the other dude, but I did learn a lot. I’ve got Uranus rising, Sun and Mercury in 9th trine Uranus and Venus parallel Uranus.

I have to balance smart with emotional stability. The genius does not come without his challenges. And I find “ugly” really cute, sometimes handsome. If only he would believe me and get by the boring norm of what he’s supposed

I relate to this absolutely my first husband thought he was a ladies man but since it was a deal marriage I didn’t care (was not in it for the long haul either one of us).

Second husband started out at least on equal intelligence ground but regressed rather than progressed. (bummer!)

Now this leads us to husband number 3. Finally a winner at least for me. He is smart, witty and fun. He is one of the sharp objects in the knife drawer so to speak. He is also smart enough to figure me out and be interested in me as a person. Without me having to tell him. We understand how each other thinks and that is important to me. I have to have someone who is interested in me and other thing and is ever constantly moving forward.

I’ve only dated one guy smarter than I was. Most of the time that smart of dudes do not go for me, though. I guess I’m “competition” or something?

So, extrapolating, does that mean if you have Venus in aspect to Neptune, you need to meet a romantic, and if you have Venus in aspect to Pluto, you need a man with money and power?

Since, I have both (Venus sextile moon trine Pluto) and Moon in the 3rd opp Uranus) it looks like I want it all – romance, power and brains. Add Mars ruling the 7th, and he’d better be sexy too. Oy!!!

forgot: Venus in Sag in the 3rd — a brainy foreigner??? Actually, I had it all in my 1st husband, except the Neptune stood for alcohol, which is why it didn’t work!
