The Aquarius New Moon Is The Chinese New Year
“Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us.”
–Hal Borland
The Chinese New Year happens on the 2nd new moon after the winter solstice. This coming Chinese New Year, the year of the Dragon, happens on January 23rd (late on the 22nd for some in the US) at the Aquarius new moon at 2 degrees (Sunday or Monday depending on where you live). The new moon sextiles its ruler, Uranus, and forms a t-square with Jupiter (expansion) and Saturn (contraction). The Sun and Moon are applying into the square with Jupiter and away from Saturn. They are heading into exact sextile with Uranus as well. I’d say the best new moon intentions here would incorporate exuberance, hope and innovation with a nod toward boundary-setting and keeping up your standards.
What are your intentions for the new moon?

My New Moon intention is to get out of the rut I’ve been in. (I have 6 planets in fixed signs) But.. I have a Gemini Moon and Mars in Aquarius and think I’m ready to make some positive changes.
the learning will set me free
On top of what I use as my AC, opposing my Uranus….. New beginnings? A new me?
I don’t know yet, but I should make it good, as it’s in my 7th, not far off my late cappy NN ![]()

Me too, Daisy – mine is exact square natal sun in taurus and exact opposite moon in leo so I get a giant plus sign too!
My focus is on a new beginning that will be good for me. Work is initial focus for me – I have a big interview Monday that would signal change of career. But staying where I am offers good things too. Bring in the positives!
This happens in my 12th. Maybe work on releasing some fears? I dunno..my Libra is still debating.
Conjunct my POF in an empty, Saturn-ruled 10th house. Start thinking about a structured way to manifest & actualize my “career” in alternative healing. The innovative and quirky energy of Aquarius will be perfect for this
The Year of the Dragon is considered the most auspicious year to have babies! More babies are born in China in Dragon years than in any other!
Gotta smile. Absolutely skint with a family birthday coming up this week. No party, no gift, no money. New Moon over my 8th house Jupiter and a letter arrives from a company stating that I had a 5 figure sum (which last year this time they denied having). Oh great! Can I have it? Answer NO. But maybe in a month or two. No doubt they will deduct all their “admin charges” etc. and I’ll land up owing them money! LOL! Thank you Chinese New Moon. I’d weep, but can’t be bothered right now. Nothing changes.

This hits my natal chiron exact, which also opposes my natal uranus, so I guess I will have a great big red X on my chart. No, no, no, think positive it’s a giant plus sign.
