Recently my husband and I have watched someone who has been lied to and misled for a number of years, discover reality. It’s been a rude awakening and the person was innocent in the circumstances. Like a child.

I like the way my husband described this. “He’s been standing on this paper, stretched across two poles. It’s not at all sturdy so it was a matter of time before it collapsed. That paper got wet, it ripped and he fell through. They’ll not be able to get him to stand on paper again. He’s learned from this…”

I just received unimaginably painful news about my daughter and my then boyfriend, from his present girlfriend, who has an ax to grind with me. I can’t believe it, I must. It cannot be possible, it must. This cannot be happening, it must. For a few hours I simply didn’t know whether to shit or go blind, as they used to say…
I grabbed the dog and went for a night walk, crying and trying to be tough… very difficult, but I know that knowing the worst is the best position to be in, and for that I am grateful.
