People frequently ask about giving astrology consultations as gifts.  First, I don’t think it is a good idea if the person is not interested in astrology. This is just a general fact. You want to get someone something they want but if they are interested in astrology, it’s great gift. People LOVE getting information that is specific to themselves, especially when they don’t have to pay!

As for how I handle this, when someone buys a gift, I email the person to let them know that so and so has bought them a 30 minute consult (or whatever time it is). I explain that we can consult via phone or email, at their convenience.  I make the contact as “gift-like” as possible by extending myself, and letting the person know it’s their time to be used when they please, as they please. I finish by telling them that I look forward to working with them and that right there is what you get when you gift someone a consultation with me.

I do it this way even if I am told the person is in grave crisis. In fact, I offer extra grace for those is in those circumstances, sort of like trying to make the consultation like a day at the spa.
