Fashion, Transits And Progressions

November 28th, 2011 @ 5:00 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life.

I wore a lot of black when Pluto transited my Sun. When the transit passed and I realized I was wearing black from head to toe, I was horrified.

When my progressed Moon was in the masculine sign of Aries , I took to wearing men’s watches. With my progressed Moon in Taurus (Venus/art) , I dated a painter and dressed as if I had just stepped from a painting of some Italian chick of one era or the other. It was all about texture and the color wheel.

Recently, Annalisa sent me a bunch of clothes for winter. This was apart from what I hauled out of her house last spring. The spring clothes were numerous and varied. The winter clothes are black and I mean alllllllll black.

I noticed. My husband noticed. I think I might be going into mourning.  If so, I should be through it by spring time, it seems as I am pretty sure that what I wear affects my mood.

Do you change your look as transits or progressions come and go?

Looking back, I can see that when Pluto started opposing my sun back in 2008 I started wearing a lot of sack dresses, hiding my body etc. I just didn’t want to be seen. I was postpartum and interior anyway, but this transit definitely added to this. Coming out of that darkness (Pluto is JUST starting to move off my sun, but I felt the transit much more strongly when it was applying) I can absolutely relate to your feeling of horror. It almost feels like a dreamworld, that things were so lonely and dark, even while I was genuinely enjoying my new son and seeds of a new life with my little family.

When my progressed moon moved into Gemini from Taurus I started enjoying clothes again. When it was in Taurus I only enjoyed food. Ha.

I’m in the process of changing my look right now. My prog moon is in Leo. But, I think what is more at play is my Aqua asc and Libra stellium. If I don’t change my appearance periodically I feel stagnant. I’ve been wearing a lot of grey and black lately–which is not typical. I usually wear bright colors. But, I’ve been craving the deeper tones lately and I just don’t own any. Anyway, my look is evolving at the moment.

Looking back I can see it in terms of colors and styles.

The only thing I’ve noticed about myself lately is that I’m buying a lot of purple clothes and objects.

More often based on who I’m in a relationship with or mood than transits.

My style is more grown up now, but not sure if it’s due to age or Saturn transits – both?

I haven’t taken much notice in the past but I’m hoping my progressed Gemini ASC might take over soon cos I’m piling on weight with a progressed stellium in Taurus and a transiting Jupiter in my natal 1st house :-D
Come to think of it, I used to dress much sexier when my progressed moon was in Scorpio. These days I’m more often seen looking prim and proper with very little cleavage showing. Damn that progressed Capricorn Moon (Lunar return).

P. Moon in 4th/Aries. I want clothes that are easy and comfortable. Last year I bought a pair of leather shoes with velcro for cycling but now am wearing them everywhere because I’m too lazy to tie my shoes.

Also changing is my choice of winter outerwear, I’m wearing a wool vintage blazer because I can’t afford a new coat. I love it because two buttons and I’m good to go. I can’t stand fumbling around with fussy, decorative clothing. My fabric choices are the same–I’m wearing my silk long johns and layering cashmere, vintage cashmere, not this crappy one ply stuff that is everywhere.

Really interesting post. Yes, I notice how what I wear changes with transits. I have been wearing more black, too. I think it is my Pluto transit, but also Saturn transiting my 1st house. It’s just a more serious look in many ways.

Yes – have always noticed the color I wear. NZ is a nation of black-clothes wearing people & sports people (considered our national color by the way). I think it’s the transits bring the color-feeling rather than the color brings the mood.

Maybe it’s all the one same thing.

Color therapists might see it the other way around, but once you’ve discovered astrology, gee, it’s gotta be the transits, doesn’t it?

In the past couple months I’ve been trying to wean myself off all black, which was my default for the past decade. Transit-wise, maybe it’s the fact that I’m not undergoing a Saturn conjunction to a personal planet or Asc for the first time in 10 years.

Pluto’s transiting my sun and I like the idea of a “grown-up” winter coat rather than the colorful one I have now.

Last summer I also found myself buying metallics. That’s something I’ve never done. Not sure if that’s my progressed Leo moon in 7th, or the Pluto/sun transit. Or Saturn transits. Also got my first mani/pedi ever, so maybe all this was the progressed moon looking for bling.

Back in late 1995, like Elsa, I wore a lot of black. Pluto was squaring my Saturn, just entering my 12th house, and I was deeply depressed.

I am not really wearing black…yet. It doesn’t feel right. I do have a lot of weirdly colored coats (vintage) so I can Leo up pretty easily. Just a scarf is not enough, I’m telling you. It’s very, very dark and I feel imposing.

Definitely! I always know when my prog moon has changed signs when I am drawn to a particular colour. Cap moon = a cool gunmetal grey, like a desaturated navy blue. During the sign change I had to get everything in this beautiful, depressing colour, from lingerie to curtains.
