Uranus Square Pluto: 2011-2015 – An Introduction

November 21st, 2011 @ 5:04 am by Elsa

Astrology in real life.

I’ve all the sudden got a lot to say about the Uranus Pluto square that will be gifting (and plaguing us) into 2015. This is probably because my entire family has a lot of planets in the early-mid degrees of the Cardinal signs. I am definitely seeing the energy of this square manifest in my life, as well as in events around the world and I’ve decided to start covering it.

Keep in mind that both Uranus and Pluto are outer planets so when these bodies clash, we’re talking about events unfolding that are outside a person’s ability to control in most cases. Unexpected (Uranus) death (Pluto) for example.  Since Pluto went into Capricorn, I have been making reference to “cracks in the foundation” which I think is a good analogy for the energy.

When the foundation of a building is cracked, the structure will eventually collapse.  It’s important to note that the cracks just appear. We’re not talking about sabotage.  Outer planets, see?  When the foundation of your home cracks, it’s outside your control. Well, small cracks can be repaired but people tend to ignore the problem which allows it to advance.  In other cases, they are unaware of the cracks, or the cost to address them is prohibitive. Consequently they’re left to expand which can happen quickly or take 50 years.

Now we’ve been having all these earthquakes lately and they are in places that don’t usually have earthquakes.  You can see how this is another situation – cracks in the foundation.  We know these fault lines are there but how they are going to act and react is unpredictable (Uranus).  This is how my life is at the moment. I am living on a fault line in many ways and on  many levels and I sure many can relate.

I want to get into the ways a person can work with this energy so that will be upcoming.

Can you relate to this?

I would definatly like to know how to work with this energy. Uranus is transiting the other half of my 8th house, which happens to be firey aries that holds my Mars at 18 degrees. Its seems to have manifested negatively so far with accidents, job loss, and BAD anger and cutting family!! :-) . I’ll be getting a consultation within the next week or two.

I have no Cardinal in my chart so am not entirely sure how this square is going to impact me. It is hitting 5th and 8th houses.

but I suppose I can relate since Pluto in Sagittarius wiped my chart clean hitting almost every planet since I have a mutable chart. There is always life after the cracks appear but of course it is never what you expect. But in my case, I’m better for the changes and glad I went through them. It was hell when it was happening.

Pluto in Cap so far has been a relief to me!

This is something I’m watching pretty closely myself. So many different ways for it to play out and you just know it’s going to be the transformation/destruction that you aren’t expecting.

I just figured out the midpoint of the square is . . . exactly conjunct my moon. Not like the square was not already totally right on top of me with sun at 5 Cancer and Pluto at 6 Libra.

I think I’ll just become famous instead of randomly bursting into flames.

I look forward to reading more about this. Early degrees Cardinal planets here, in Cardinal Houses…life certainly won’t be boring:)

This is going to be good. :) I’m always up for learning new tricks!

Most of my cardinal stuff is in the mid-degrees, but I have some early Libra that’s going to get sucked into the square. I’m kinda jazzed about it, to be honest, but Uranus and Pluto are major players with me anyway. ;)

They were drilling at one spot… and further ahead the land cracked and started spilling oil. It is here near me.

Knowing about the Cardinal Climax years before it happened to me probably saved me from a nervous breakdown. This is the best article I’ve read on it so far. As a 2 deg Aries Sun, it hit me first and hard.

Trans Pluto is in my 11th and Trans Uranus is in my 2nd. I am just watching and waiting. I have a feeling this is going to work out great for me. I just keep telling myself that with an Aquarius ASC, and Venus conjuncting it, that Uranus is my friend!

I want to deal with it, so yes!

But quite honestly, I don’t feel like I’ve had any foundation at all for a very long time.

All I’ve got is cracks =)

One of mine siblings… has transiting Pluto on 12th and T.Uranus on 3rd… both Natal Pluto/Uranus on his 9th with 17º apart each other.

I think our relationship finally broke off, and we are no longer hidden enemies of each other.

My chart has the T.Pluto on 5th, with the T.Uranus quite at 8th… both Natal planets respectively at start of 2nd house and last degree of 2nd, being Pluto ruler of my 3rd… i really think it reenforces the fact that we ended our “brotherhood”.

I wonder how this Uranus/Pluto is affecting each individual… eventho they are outer planets, we are also deeply affected, either directly or not.

This will be impacting my descendent and my Sun. I have no foundation right now. I have no cracks now that I think about it…I’m kinda floating over the abyss really…..just really waiting for the damn lava at this point.

@elsa and @kr, the midpoint of two planets squaring each other (like, uranus squaring pluto) is important? What do you mean by this?

I have several personal planets on that midpoint as well, up until the 2 reach about 12-13 degrees. What would this mean for the individuals with planets ON the midpoint?! Thank you :)

Thanks for this Elsa. So timely. This is definitely affecting me (early-mid degrees of both Capricorn and Libra).

Excellent article, Isernia. Thanks.

To be honest whenever I read about this I’m always feeling pretty good. I feel like I was born for this stuff.

Dad has Uranus Square Pluto – exact – he was born in 1932. I have observed this energy all my life – growing up his daughter. Volatile, powerful.

The ex – the ex – well one of these Uranus square Pluto exact hits – hits his IC and DSC exactly – (next Summer). This ending he created has been difficult – but it certainly has been instructive…I just watch as events unfold for him.

For me – 9th house and fifth house moving into 9th house and sixth house. Roll with it I suppose.

Hoping – hoping – hoping with Pluto moving out of my 5th house and Neptune moving out of my 7th house – that maybe – just maybe – that whole thing with relationships and me gets better. I am really ready to meet someone good – and with Jupiter in Aquarius in the 7th house – I thought I was supposed to have a good long term relationship.

Thus spoke the Venus in Aries – gratefully writing to you from the Starbucks – in her hometown.

I love this video – brings me comfort….
