Astro Tips: September 27, 2011 – New Moon In Libra
My eye on the sky
It’s the super new moon we’ve been waiting for! The Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Saturn all line up Libra, to be aspected by every other planet in the sky, excluding Neptune.
I have real trouble seeing this in a negative light. Even if you are spectacularly lonely, it’s nothing but a wake-up call. Turns out there are real benefits to be derived by teaming up with others or participating in social interaction.
If you feel bad today, here are some ideas:
- Try committing (Saturn) to playing well with others (Libra).
- Commit to building a social network.
- Be fair with others.
- Take responsibility for yourself.
- Be realistic about the value you offer others as well as the burden you place on them.
- Settle your debts.

I agree! The practical advice was so helpful in the office today as there was alot of mud slinging going on. I was offering olive branches alot today and refusing to mudsling myself.

A recurring theme this year has been men who want something for nothing. I already got rid of those, but there are more who keep popping up here and there and I boot them, too. So, since the new moon will conjunct my moon and oppose my sun, I’ll renew that commitment to find someone who has something to offer in exchange for my company.
And I’ll be the best me I have to offer in return.
Tonight, the something-for-nothing guy who dumped me for my birthday six months ago (we’ve been text “friends” since then – he is a Libra with Cancer rising who won’t go away) wanted me to drive all the fucking way across town to meet him for ice cream at 8:30. I had agreed earlier, but I worked late and was too tired to drive 45 minutes to do this so I texted him that. I didn’t feel all that compelled to drive, drive, drive to make his birthday a success. He’s such a cheapskate, I probably would have been expected to buy the ice cream… His phone was dead and he didn’t get the message, so I got read the riot act over email when he got home.
Maybe it’s karma, you know? Ruin my birthday and yours might get ruined too. I honestly didn’t plan it, but it worked out that way. I tried to contact him in plenty of time – it’s not like I didn’t make the effort.
Ahead of the New Moon, I deactivated my Facebook account! I guess in most ways that runs counter to the Libra energy… But I want only healthy relationships from here on out. I am tired of the co-dependencies, the energy vampires, the users (and what I become in their midst).

This has been a difficult new moon for me. It seems to have activated that pluto that has been in my 5th house forever. The new moon is in my third house. There was some communication last night with the ex. Big loud communication.

I like the practical use of your Libra New Moon suggestions. They suit me and the place I find myself today. I had a timely check-in with my long time therapist who also lives with the illness I live with as well. Your suggestions are just the ones we talked about, too.
Especially: Be realistic about the value (I) offer as well as the burden I offer …
This New Moon in Libra gives me a chance to look realistically at myself and the balance in needs my partner/others have vs. what I need. Those needs change and adjustments are not instantaneous. (Saturn)
