Let’s face it Taurus dressers, you are not going to give up comfort and luxury for the sake of trends! I do not suggest you do because often you have invested in pieces that are made of lovely materials and that can become collectables. I very much advise Taurus-type dressers to buy the best they can afford in their basics so they last forever and feel as great as possible. If you wrap a Taurus type in a wonderful fabric or show them a brilliant design they will know what they are looking at!

The Taurus dresser who loves comfortable clothing will not be disappointed with some of the fabric that is out this season. Corduroy is popular and designed well this season as is plaid! Wearing corduroy and plaid together is a wonderful look and can be done in a menswear way or a woman’s luxury way. Think of a pair of excellent soft corduroy pants or a corduroy skirt in a color that is somewhat standout and how soft it would feel. You love to feel your best and you would look soaked in nice fabric if you grab yourself a soft plaid dress or shirt. I’m not talking about the cotton, stiff fabric that plaid has been in lately but a new fabric that is soft as butter but with a plaid look. You can mix your plaid with other patterns if the patterns have the same colors if you have a wild day!

A Taurus dresser will drop down the money if the clothing is quality and if they feel wonderful in it so I suggest you raise your price point just a bit to take advantage of all the new classic clothing in unique fabrics. A plaid skirt that is wrapped but A line is the best looking but any sort of plaid skirt or dress that is made of very soft fabric such as a wool mix or soft cotton mix would work wonders for you! If you hate wearing dresses as some Taurus do, try wearing the new soft corduroy pants that have a slightly higher waist than the past “too low” cut pants. The corduroy pant that is good today is again, soft and cut to flatter the body. Fit is so important to you, Taurus, for your comfort to get to know a tailor and keep them on speed dial!

A nice soft plaid dress that is above the knee or at the knee made of soft cotton or wool, paired with some great patterned tights can really rock if you belt it or not! You should buy your plaid dress in a color that works well for you and choose from all the colors available now. Your sleeves on the dress should be three quarter cut or you can roll them if they are wide enough. You can top this great look this fall with a nice soft blazer in black or brown and be ready to go! I also like plaid dresses worn as tunics over pants or corduroys and even tights.

Tights are going nowhere, not ever, so I would stock up on leggings that are classic colors and cut narrow at the ankle but fit well without being too tight. It will always be a choice to wear your shorter dresses with tights so I would invest in great tights and leggings that feel comfortable on the leg. Tights and leggings should fit well on top and not be too tight so you can breathe. The idea with tights these days is to buy some to wear with shorter tunics and to buy some with feet to wear with your dresses that shorter for a more classic look. Tights should fit a bit loosely so you don’t feel like a sausage. You can find some collectable tights at “Wolford” but they will be a bit more expensive due to fabric, pattern, and the fact that they last all your life! You can find some less expensive tights from companies like “Hue” and “DKNY.” “DNKY” has some of the best fitting tights for their price point out there so give them a try for comfort and fit, Taurus! Just ask if you’d like more unique ideas in shopping for tights!

Taurus accessories should have the same comfortable and quality feel as well as look like the clothing for Taurus types. I love the new faux fur lined booties with wooden soles or leather soles that are just at the ankle and flatter the leg so well. You can buy these fur lined boots in tall styles as well as booties and they are so comfortable because of the faux fur that is around the leg or foot! I love the feel of faux fur or shearling on the body and it works just as well on the feet and the legs.

You can wear shearling and faux fur on your bags this season as well or have your entire bag made of faux fur or shearling! The faux fur bag is great as a pillow when you are on a flight or to use as a pillow wherever you are. Since embellishments are so huge this season I would suggest you indulge your love of luxury and look at faux fur bags that are decorated with large faux stones of jewel colors.

I love the oversized jewelry that is shaped like flowers and feathers but is large because it makes such a statement when only one piece is worn. Since all Taurus have a knack for luxury why not pick up a big piece of jewelry for around your neck that looks very expensive even if it is not? Costume jewelry can be one of the best collectables and Taurus has the taste to collect it!

Alligator and other exotic skins are represented this season in fabric, shoes and bags which should be perfect for natural Taurus. A Taurus woman can do herself proud with faux skin in an accessory, bag or even legging! Try to embellish your basic and very comfortable clothing with oversized pieces here and there so long as you don’t go over the top! Boots of all sizes are great for fall and remember to get the fit right so you can wear an oversized long sock in your boot for a great look. There are so many things you can do to bring your beloved basics up to “code” so get out there or on your computer and look!

Taurus types like their hair longish and well taken care of. Bangs that are long are back as is long, well taken care of hair. The curls or blow dry with a round brush is back and big hair in the way of curls is everywhere! A Taurus likes their hair to move and feel wonderful so take advantage of products that moisturize your hair while not making it too shiny. You can buy a conditioning crème, for example, and coat your hair lightly with it before blow drying. Long hair with long layers is a very pretty trend and has “Taurus” written all over it!

The Taurus looks great with highlights or hair that is golden so if you can pull off golden-colored highlights or just tint your hair golden you should consider it for a glow in the winter months. Remember that having it done professionally is best and they only have to be done every three months or so which makes them more affordable. Look at your skin and think “gold” to decide or talk to your hairdresser. The texture of Taurus type’s hair should be spun gold as well so I can’t say to care for your hair enough! Too much processing or doing it yourself and damaging your hair is common and it is hard to repair when it happens. You should consider highlights from a professional even if you like to do your own base color. Make sure that if you tint your own hair that you tell your hairdresser so they can proceed with caution when doing your hair.

If your face cannot support long hair because your features are small try to simulate long hair by wearing a new bob cut that has layers that differ all around it. The idea is to have movement in your hair whether you embrace the air dry and natural looks around or if you indulge yourself and blow dry or curl. Stiff hair that is dry is your enemy, Taurus, you love the feel of your hair when it’s healthy so take a pro’s advice or ask those whose hair you admire. I always see healthy hair when I see a fashionable Taurus type and it is in a natural sort of cut because a Taurus knows when to leave a good thing alone!

Makeup for a Taurus type includes the new “nude” lip as described in my blog post “Fall Fashion by the Signs, Aries, 2011,” but with a more defined eye. The “Bardot” look on the eyes of Taurus is excellent so break out a bit of black or dark brown eyeliner and practice the sleek and straight line that looks so great on Taurus. The liner should be right at the eye lash line and sweep across your lid without too much of a “cat eye’ unless you are going out for the evening and want a more dramatic look. If you can master the liquid eyeliner that is great but you can also use a product like MAC’s smoky dark eye shadow and apply it wet to get a line that is smooth. With the rest of the lid covered with a primer or a touch of concealer the eye looks just sexy enough and dark enough for the fall looks. Keeping the top lid smooth and one color that is natural looks great on Taurus types with good skin and you should not wear shine on your skin in the fall, certainly. I still like a powder finish for a Taurus or a very light sweep of colored moisturizer with a clear touch of powder over it. Use a primer on your eyelashes and take advantage of the new mascaras that add thickness. Thick eyelashes are great these days and are natural enough to look great on a Taurus-type dresser! If you need to wear a color on your lids try to stay with a brown color or something found in nature but avoid the blues and the greens at this time.

A thick looking lip and deep eyes are both great looks for Taurus this season and easily achieved. It’s best if you have a makeup ritual but if you’ve not changed your ritual in some time it’s time to redo our classic face now! Go easy on the blush and use a brownish tone if you use one on your cheeks. A pink/brown looks nice if used very slightly with an eye on making the eye and the nude lip the focal point of your face.
