Sun Placement By Sign And House

I probably talk about Sun Signs far less than that of any other planet. I figure people who are reading about astrology have probably read up on that bit. It’s the first thing you learn, right? Sometimes it’s good to brush up on the basics, though. It’s really important. It’s your ego, your own experience of self and will, so very personal, and it shows on the outside as well. What could be more important than that? Other things, say the Moon, may be AS important, maybe, but not more.
I’d say most are pretty savvy about their Sun sign. Most also know what house their Sun is in. As far as understanding the impact of the house placement of your Sun on your personality, there’s a really simple way to do that. Each house is associated with a sign, 1st house- Aries, 2nd house- Taurus, 3rd house- Gemini, etc. So you have your Sun Sign (check), and you’ve got your house sign (check), now look at that picture up there of Johnny Knoxville in Men in Black II (terrible movie, I know, but entertaining).
Metaphorically speaking your Sun sign is the big central head; the sign ruling its house placement is the little head. So Mr. Knoxville is a Pisces of unknown birth time. Let’s just say he’s a Leo rising and his Sun is in the 8th house; that makes the little head Scorpio. So there’s that character up there, in cahoots with the villain, her agenda becomes his agenda, very Piscean, and he’s checking out her assets, rather Scorpionic. Broad explanations, I know, but it’s an example. What you do is you take the two and BLEND, but not 50/50, maybe three parts Pisces (Sun Sign), one part Scorpio (House Sign). Shake, pour, add an olive.

I have cap rising, saturn in the 4th and sun on the MC so I kind of feel pulled-togther in that respect.
I’m pretty identified with my Aries Sun, though there’s definitely a 6th house/mercury conjunction flavor to it. Thinking v. Doing is definitely my existential conundrum.
12th house Gemini Sun. I’m not sure of the blend really because there is so much Mercury and Neptune action with my chart.
I pretty much identify with being an 11th house Libra Sun/Scorpio Rising. I also have a stellium in my 11th. My vocation/passion/education is tied in with the 11th house idea of the collective, so I do heavily identify with it.
8th house virgo sun. i guess the 8th house influence would be scorpio? yeah, i can see it – psychologically analyzing people and situations is sort of a habit. also, i tend to be really impressed by scorpios and their potent, well timed words. (my midheaven is scorpio, with uranus there, so i vibe with the mysterious persona and black clothing!)

Should I maybe add 2 parts Scorpio, 1 part sun sign? (my Sun is 0 degree Cancer, so I have no idea if that’s a Gemini/Cancer blend or what… what’s your opinion on the cusps?)
Leo in 3rd house baby! Gemini/3rd house/short attention span internet addicted much? Yes yes yes!
Aries in the 9th. A lot of “the broad picture,” but it’s square saturn so it’s not that light.

Sag sun in the 12th house = very outgoing loner, super social and super private at the same time. Lots of people know my gregarious side but would never guess that at times I need months spent alone.
Gem in 6th… AH! some people get Jiminy Cricket, i get Virgo constantly telling me how i can do things better..
What IS it with Johnny Knoxville lately?! Been seeing him everywhere the last two days, then I come here and see this! Illuminati programming? Universe trying to tell me something sexy (because he is not a bad looking man), perhaps a coincidence? Figures. I am a Pisces sun in the 6th house, Virgo moon and rising. Patterns, patterns everywhere and not a drop to drink!
With my sun in Scorpio the 12th house, that is triple water already…add some seltzer, *squirt*. I also have Scorpio Rising. More seltzer. Now add a little Mercury and a jigger of Saturn, Sadge flavor, but oh look…my IC is Pisces, add more seltzer, I have Pluto and Moon in Virgo on my MC (throw in a little ground chocolate for Earth)and my 8th house is ruled by the Moon. Add MORE seltzer. You know what? Just give me a glass of water straight up!
And I didn’t know that actor, but I could see the Pisces in him before I read he was one right off the bat.
Aries sun in the 2nd but kissing the 3rd house too. Yep, I can recognise the need for material security, I love my ‘bits and pieces’ which I’ve always trundled from one home to another. Now though I’m getting fed up with all this ‘stuff’ hanging around but it’s a struggle to let go of what I think I need or might need one day, lol, real 2nd house stuff! also I like to feel safe with money. And I can chatter away and do have a quick mind and broad interests (3rd house)all mixed up with the Aries fire.
11th house Pisces Sun… I have always felt very Aquarian even before I knew more about astrology than just my Sun sign. I could never work out why I wasn’t more Piscean… but I also have Aquarius Mercury and Venus so that probably explains a lot.

My sun in 12th always hurt people. Now I know how better to explain it. Thoe that are open to me get it. Those that are not… are not friends.
That cancer sun appreciated, really, learning about this. Not whining…. but it’s not easy being hugely compassionate but needing to fugue.
I get it now. I can explain it now. ANd I understand other people better now.
Gemini sun in 7th conjunct mars, Libra always balancing
Aries Sun in 9th so with Sag influence. I’d say at least 50/50, probably 30/70.
Sag ruler Jupiter is in my first house, conjunct ASC. Also Saturn and NN in Sag(5th house).
I am meant to travel far and wide.

Taurus sun in the 5th House 5 (Leo ?) ?? Children, fun (creative part of work important) and sports (and LOVE). I never realised I could be perceive as a little bit leo ??- well, my hair apparently would be Leo like lol – I get it now!! lots, auburn, curly. Well anyway, there is a lot passion and fire (Sadge rising+moon in Aries), which I could not really connect with my Taurus sun supposedly slow and conservative. Mabye “enduring” passion, hoping so – and also providing a secure (stable) environment for the children.
Taurus in the 10H … two earth signs so there’s no fighting 
I think mine is an easy blend. Aries Sun in the 5th (Leo’s house) That’s 2 Suns in one! 
Isn’t there a name for that when one of your planets is in the house ruled by that planet?

I’m not sure – Aries Sun in the 6th, so my little head is a Virgo.
Taurus Sun in 6th, so my little head is Virgo too. Since I have a stellium in 6th with almost all my personal planets, I can definitely see the virgoness in myself. So true…
Gemini sun in the first as part of a multiple conjunction
First house placement gives me a bit of the ram (sorry, my Sadge moon is giggling at that) and makes me a bit more determined and focused, I think.
I’d say 78% sign, 22% house. More or less.
Really interesting post Satori! I have Leo sun in the 3rd and never really thought about it being Gemini’s house. Gemini is one of the signs I least identify with – maybe because I have it on the cusp of the 12th?
However, I noticed debdeb’s post mentioning short attention span and internet addiction – that’s me! It all makes sense now!

Gem Sun (conj Jupiter) in 2nd. Taurus/Venus rising w/ 4 planets in Taurus, so I think I’m about 50/50. Pretty strong on the air and earth, which is of course a wonderfully dualistic combo;-)
For all I know about astrology, it is actually the sun that baffles me the most. Within me I feel that I am 100% Virgo in every way. But I have a Taurus sun that I only slightly identify with, and Placidus puts it in the 4th house which is nothing I can relate to. Equal puts it in 5th which is kind of accurate, in some ways, and lately, I’m really into Whole houses because it puts my sun in 6th, and all of a sudden, it’s all clear.
Perhaps I don’t identify with it because it’s basically unaspected?

It think it’s like Maruschka Detmers, a Dutch actress, who made so many French films people think she’s French. Being Dutch is like the sign, but moving to France where she expressed herself is like being in a sign. Now it gives me an excuse to dig up those movies…

I would say 50/50, but that’s because Pluto in Scorpio is aspect my Sun in Leo in the 8th. Also, I’ve got a stellium in Leo in the 8th.
