Gemini Asks, Do You Ever Feel Like You Are Failing Your Chart? Astrology-Based Advice

May 25th, 2011 @ 12:00 pm by Elsa

Dear Elsa,

Ever feel like you’re failing your horoscope? I’m a Gemini who’s just downright pooped trying to salvage what I can of a relationship with a Leo man. Not to complain or anything, because I am strangely energized by all the things I’m learning about myself because of him (like how dark my dark side really is). But a lot of horoscopes seem to suggest that I should be at a romantic, lovingly committed high point right now. And I’m not. I keep trying to get him to see how beautiful life is, and how beautiful he is, and how beautiful I am! And he’s sad and frustrated and non-committal and clammed up.

How do you know it’s time to let go? Believe me, it would be easier to run…why do I feel so drawn to sticking it out? And why do I feel like I’m failing my horoscope? Thanks!

astrology chart Dear Gemini,

No I never feel like I am failing my chart and I don’t think you are failing yours. You have chart ruler Venus in Aries (the sign of its detriment) square Saturn, so it’s no great surprise you encounter strife and struggle in relationships. This aspect would also make you prone to feeling you are failing, so there you go – your chart is working just fine.

The Venus Saturn also explains your weary feelings along with your Moon Neptune in Scorpio which is going to see the tide go out from time to time regardless of what you do. So the real problem here is the horoscopes you are reading.

First, not everyone who says they can read a chart can… and secondly you can’t just apply these bits you read here and there and think they ought to apply, because there are just too many things to take into consideration and I can equate this to hair.

A lot of people have black hair but it is all the same? It’s not. Black hair is long, short, kinky, straight, fine, coarse, etc. Some people have a head full; others have just one hair left, others have Mohawks and so on and on. Now if you read on the web that all black haired people are going to (or should) part their hair on the left and comb it over, is this going to be accurate? It’s not. It is going to be ridiculous.

I say if you are going to use astrology, get it right and get something out of it. In this case you are using astrology to feel bad about yourself which is a lousy application. It could easily be supporting you but which tack you take is entirely up to you.

Good luck.

i don’t think it’s possible to fail your chart. i think there are just different ways to live it. some feel better than others.

wow! same sun, moon, AND ascendant as me!

i look at charts as being the default framework of the situation or person, so you can’t really fail what exists, period. that isn’t to say you can’t change something about yourself or your life, but you do need to work with what you’ve got. you have to CREATE potential if you want something to happen – don’t passively live out what you think your horoscope says (or ANYONE says) about you or your future.

I don’t feel that I live up to my chart sometimes…it says I am aries rising..but I have been questioning that of late…

I sometimes feel like I am. I have six planets and my ascendant in cardinal signs, but far from being a natural born leader I hate being in charge and am generally not much good at it. Don’t follow me, I’m lost (as the bumper sticker says).

Sometimes I don’t. With a stellium in the 12th house, I think I should be more artistic and giving. I have my days when I feel inspired but alot of my ideas go right up in the air. =(

lol you’re so funny with your metaphors ;)
I don’t feel that I’m failing my chart but that some points have a higher focus and others (that should be great) are being completely ignored and overwhelmed by the first ones.

So when people look at my chart, they might think: wow, that’s so optimistic and bright. So much fire!…when truly I feel like I’m all water sometimes.

joana – my metaphors? I just re-read that and yeah. I embarrass myself and I don’t know how to stop.

I’m always taken aback by the many colorful ways people manage to make their life trickier. As if we didn’t have enough pressures as it is, here is someone fretting over not living up to her horoscope… sigh…

elsa- i like your metaphors. they are both colorful and helpful in making your points.

I feel like I’ve been living out the packed 7th house part of my chart, and ignoring a crucial bit – sun and saturn both conjunct my midheaven.

Elsa:

Gemini here. Thank you for your wise words! It was a duh moment for me, to realize that I AM feeling badly about how things are going with the crazy man in my life…and am using astrology to reinforce the yech feeling. Sometimes tough stuff just is what it is. I looked at my whole chart, and didn’t have a clue, but thought to myself, that’s me, and I’m alright! As always, reading everyone else’s ocmments helps me understand we’re never alone. Thanks to all.

I feel like I fail mine because I’ve got so many hard aspects. Every time an astrologer says something like every curse is a blessing, what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, you can manifest this or that square in a positive way, with “hard work” this aspect will build character, etc., etc. I think, aw hell there I go screwing it all up again by doing and feeling none of those things. Oh well, there’s fun to be had circling the drain.

I definitely fail my chart. I am supposed to be a double Capricorn and I am a space cookie.

No, the more I learn about all 10 planets and the aspects they make in my chart, the more I feel like I’m fitting it just fine :o ).

No, I don’t think I’m failing my chart. When I was younger I’d read the Gemini sun sign attributes and wonder if my parents lied to me about my month of birth. I related most strongly to the Scorpio characteristics. Later, thanks to a professional reading of my chart, I began to own my Pluto squares and the tight Sun/MC conjunction that pretty much runs my life.

I don’t feel that I live up to my chart either. Pluto in 10th conjunct MidHeaven = meant to do something big. (So far, not happening. Just big dreams and people telling me I have lots of potential.) Libra sun = needs a partner. Umm, no man in sight and none have worked out for long.
Oh, and I’m Sadge rising…and haven’t traveled out of the country in 18 years. Don’t even have a passport. :/

Great post to an interesting question! I don’t think fail is the right word. I admit that I don’t fully understand my chart so I’m not as familiar with some energies as I am with others. And the chart is such a dynamic thing is so dynamic that I have my whole life to live out all the different energies in my chart. Some stand out more at certain times in life. I don’t think you can fail your chart so much as neglect the aspects. And we didn’t even touch on transits. The chart is a living entity.

Or fail your transits, that’s where the lessons are. Your chart is what you have to work with, the transits are what you make of them.

Oh yeah… I’m a walking talking version of my chart- for better or worse!
Our charts give us those tendancies to think we are failing, it’s a matter of finding the positive side of those SAME tendancies & spinning them in a positive way instead!!!
Can take some work though…
