Rough Summer For The Cardinal Signs – 2011 – Get (and Give) Tips Here
Astrology in real life
It just can’t be denied. People with Cardinal planets, (particularly from about 4-17 degrees) are really in for a row heading into fall 2011.
- Capricorns fear falling from their a high position or that they will never achieve a high position.
- Cancer is deathly (Pluto) afraid (Saturn) for their security.
- Libra is sick from stress and pressure and amputation in relationships.
- Aries fares best here but is still feeling the crush.
The best way to deal with this is to consciously work with the high expression of the planets involved.
- With Saturn, you must persevere.
- Pluto requires you let go of the dead thing aka Step Away From The Corpse.
- All the Mars energy is best expressed by taking the initiative to run your own life.
If you can keep those three principles in mind, you should be able to navigate more effectively.
Anyone else have tips?

As a cardinal sign, I’d like to go on the record as saying that it’s been nothing but difficult for a few years now! BASTA!!!
Lots of cardinal here, too. I agree – BASTA. I love that. I don’t think Saturn listens, though.
Thanks for the tips. This makes sense.
Persevere, let go, and RUN! Got it!
With my Sun at 4 degrees Aries, I really appreciate your solid advice. I feel like I’ve got my tool box prepared! Thanks, Elsa!
Didn’t we do this last summer? Great!
If I learned anything from last summer’s cardinal assault it was this:
That which has no structure suffers the most.
Take your vitamins.
Say “no” regularly.
Stay present.
Pull the weeds when they’re small.
I agree with Elsa, wildrose!
This post is a little nugget of pure gold, in my book. Thanks, Elsa.
Elsa, how does this summer’s cardinal mess differ energetically from last year’s?
So, same shit, just more of it.
Elsa! Whew. What timing. I was just now researching when I’ll get a job, what placements to look for, etc. Then I find that Jupiter will be retrograde here in a few! ARGH!
I am so thankful this post is up, seriously. Great tips from everyone, especially you and wildrose. Thank you, thank you!
I’d agree with her, last summer was bananas.
I can only add, as someone with a ton of air and fire goin on that to mitigate the nasties:
*Physical exertion is as crucial as,
*Conscious breathing, and
*Creative expression
Those were definitely personal strides of mine towards a more balanced sanity. I am presently being faced with needing to reinitiate their presence. It’s exciting. And draining. Here’s to Saturn!
Trying to carve this into my Mutable brain…
Last summer was crazy but it was such a thrill. For this summer, I know it will get hard but I’m going to relax and really feel it. Just go with it and feel the passion burn for life!
I’m with lolo & wildrose, but I have found that I need to LET GO of structure. The whole “holdin’ on for dear life” thang just wasn’t working for me. I found out last summer that I just needed to ride the wave.
All very good tips lolo, wildrose, and Elsa. My Sun is at 10 Libra.
Last summer it felt almost constricting. Wait, work on the plan, shore up your resources. This feels like it’s going to be pressure to MOVE, damn it, MOVE!
I’ve got a T square in the other cardinal signs – the Aries stellium will fill out the grand cross for me.
Thanks for the tips! thinking of more…
Sick from amputations. Yep that’s me and its gonna be me.
I’m going to write these tips down and stick them to my computer! A lot to remember, a lot to learn. Along with: Breathe. Just Breathe. And when you say “no,” try to say it nicely.
Great advice, and, I hope, one taken, in my case!
I have both Libra and Capricorn on those degrees. I must admit that Saturn, Pluto and Mars are making good aspects to other elements of my chart too, which might help. It’s all about work for me. My current job is morphing into something quite different from what I signed for. I’m not happy at all. However, the stress I’m under has made me think seriously about my professional future. As a result, I think I’ve come up with a very viable long-term career plan. I finally know what I’ll do when I’m grown up !
It won’t be easy to get there, but actually, such a relief to have some kind of a plan instead of just thinking about passing by somehow!
I’m with you, @Natalia. For me, it’s been about letting go.
And now that Pluto is conjunct my Cappy Mars & Venus (and approaching my Sun), I suspect it will be even MORE SO.
My plan is to laugh. Frequently. Loudly. And unleash my inner rock star in the car.
Okay. Well. Fact is, I think I’m really a Leo. The more I look at my chart, the more I realize the whole Cancer thing is bullshit.
How does that sound?
So…is the stellium in Aries like lighting a bag of poo on fire? I have planets in two of these cardinal zones. Awesome. All relationship related. Double awesome.
You know what I mean, too! You see it and you just have to stamp at it. Then, you have the added problem of the poo if you actually manage to extinguish the flames with your foot. There’s no slow going through this one, is there? (It’s almost Friday…can you tell?)
I have ton of planets in Cardinal signs – 7 out of the 9 – but I’ve been so battered all my life a little more surely won’t break me…. will it?
Libra: Neptune 8Ëš also Jupiter and Chiron conjunct [progressed planets etc - all those plus Moon and Asc]
Capricorn: Merc 4Ëš also Sun and Venus conjunct
Aries: [progressed planets only - Merc & Venus closely conjunct]
Cancer: Mars and Saturn conj [progressed same, even more closely conjunct]
I have little advice to offer except to keep the Aries/Mars under tight control; but I could sure use some, pretty please…
Elsa! No words. I’m in a fit of laughter.
@ ciel… we can all dance the happy poo dance.
I’ve been feeling the same as Shannon, except the empty leg of my T-Square is Capricorn (filled not so nicely by transiting Pluto).
Aries covers my 5th and 6th houses, and my SR looks to be a real push-pull between being social and being a hermit. Venus/Mars square Pluto (opposed natal pluto) and Mercury/Jupiter opposed Saturn (also conjunct my Sun), is how my Spring looks. I’m an Aries, and need to get more comfortable with the rough-and-tumble side of things..
I had to google basta – I thought it was an acronym.
“Enough is enough” – yep, but for now I’m feeling okay. Not great, but okay.
oops, sorry for the third comment. My sister’s Cappy sun is at 5*.
Dear Elsa: If I have a t-square: cancer sun, cap moon, mars just over the fragile divide between libra and scorpio… How badly will my oh-so-sensitive freaking butt get kicked? I thought it would be super-cool to have this aries stellium traversing my ninth into my tenth. Messing with my everything. I was deluding myself into thinking that after 43 years of bizarre shit I’d be cruising into human heaven. I felt GOOD about aries getting all fired up. Seriously. I WAS. (There is some tongue-in-cheek here… But REALLY!)
love,
a faithful reader
Laughing my ass off at the happy poo dance! (Even if you win, you have poo on your feet …. heehee)
Also @Salali – I’ve got Mars Venus Pluto Uranus and Jupiter in my T square, and Chiron just out of orb in Aries. Wheeeee! We are gonna have some kind of fun rocket ride, I think. (Now if I can just remember how to steer a rocket …..)
Trying to be excited but secretly scared poo-less
Venus/Jupiter at 13 Cap.
@Shannon – Oops, I got Venus wrong in my SR, but yes, it’s going to be something.
I have Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto in my natal T-Square, and it’s all being set off as they come on through.
Aries in my tenth house and my boss is starting to peck like a chicken already. Day one…
Yeah, this is why I’m planning on cutting back summer work hours. I don’t need the money, and I’d like to enjoy my summer like I did last summer. It goes by very fast.
That would be my Uranus in Libra/6th House. I guess I’m going to have to work on loving changes, instead of digging in with my hooves. I don’t know, I’m kind of excited. I’m determined to attract “positivity” my way. Lol.
Saturn 4 Cap sixth house, Venus 8 Libra third house, MC 14 Aries.
I’m thinking it might be a good idea to start planning now on returning to school, with all that Aries transit in my ninth house. Last summer was kind of a bad one, and there are changes afoot on the job front and have been for a while. Romantic life nil for several reasons. :\ Really need to save up for a consultation though…
I have all those signs mentioned and oh boy is the Cancer Moon deathly afraid.
I’m an Aries too – and I’m somewhat worried about the upcoming Aries stellium. We’ll see, I guess.
I’m an Aries. It looks like the Universe has done it’s seek and destroy thing! It looks like more poo is about to hit the fan. Is there any hope of survival? Money from any where? A man…preferable with a pulse?
