Daily Tarot, March 5, 2011: Falling off the Wheel of Fortune

Astrology Meets Tarot!

wheel-of-fortuneThe people I’ve been talking to are in the midst of changes—big ones! I’m especially watching that Aries stellium / Cardinal T-Square as it moves in and am feeling heat coming from all directions.  I’ve been telling people to get prepared for getting shot out of a cannon by making sure it’s oriented in the direct you want to go. Because whichever way you are facing now, that’s where you’re going to get shot as this takes shape. More than ever, it pays to pay attention!

Today’s Tarot is an old favorite (judging by how often we see it here, anyway): The Wheel. As a Tarot ten, it’s oriented towards endings that engender new beginnings at the same time. Ruled by Jupiter, this card isn’t especially revered for the generous gifts we like to associate with Jupiter, though. Well, okay, some readers DO see it that way. I don’t. But the Wheel does point to large (Jupiter) changes and reversals of fortune. Whatever you’ve got going can turn on a dime here. That’s both blessing and curse, of course.

wheeloffortune001_640wWhile this card doesn’t scream crisis like the Tower, I never discount the possibility here. Whatever’s in the air, it’s big! If it’s any consolation coming from an old lady, many a time that my world has been crumbling, I’ve managed to land not only on my feet, but more solid than before the wreckage hit. But good or bad, change is coming!

I often look to the Wheel to either provide encouragement that a rut isn’t as intractable as it may appear, that huge (Jupiter) shifts are possible, and also not to take even the best of fortune for granted. Stay alert, flexible, and attuned. This provides you the tools to manage when the wheel stops turning. Just because things are the way they are today does not mean they will be tomorrow. You’ve been advised.

You feeling the Wheel in your life? Do you like it?

Loving the cat analogy. I now become the kitty with intuitive, quick reflexes…

So well put Dixie. I would have preferred to have navigated the energy better this past week. One of the ways people can go off in the current environment is to try to propel oneself, rather than stay alert, flexible attuned …

I got my helmet on and I’m hunkered down in the cannon barrel!

I’ve become very good this last year at the ‘waiting game’ which involves tuning into the ether and being ready to pick up on whatever will further my needs and progress. It’s been quite an educative experience for someone with as much cardinal in their chart as I have

I hope this will leave me prepared when the sky dictates a more proactive modus operandi

It was a Wheel of Fortune year that threw me off a few years ago. I was fine when I was focused, but when I let the emotions creep in – that’s how I always get thrown off, dealing with others, and trying to deal with situations I need to face. I’ve been trying to keep a calm centre, so that I can fire off in the right direction, and also because I know that I have it good in ways, and I want to kick myself when I’m calmer, look around, and realize how much good I’m not absorbing and appreciating. I hate the roller-coaster. I’ve had rather quick reflexes lately, but haven’t been as cool as a cat.

It throws me off when the ladies here mention being old. I don’t think of any of you as old. A little older and wiser (definitely wiser) is what I see from where I’m sitting.

@Salali – I don’t mean it as bad when I say it. I like being older! I try to be a quick study, so my life is better now. I value that perspective thing.

“It throws me off when the ladies here mention being old. I don’t think of any of you as old.”

It drives me nuts frankly when the ladies here who are still in their forties keep describing themselves as old! Wtf does that make me and the other 60+ people? Forties is not old – nowhere near, I don’t even feel old myself yet. 80s is old, late 70s maybe… ;)
