Gemini, Aquarius And Sci-Fi: Astrology Of A Haircut
“Change the speed, alter the mood, Electrify the boys and girls! If you would be so kind!”
–Castor, Tron Legacy
I don’t think I’ve ever looked at the chart for doing a haircut before; this is a first. It’s also my first time cutting this person’s hair. She was referred by a long-time client. It’s a unique haircut; I’m recreating a style from a sci-fi movie. She’s going to Comic-Con as Quorra from the new Tron movie. Do I need her chart? No, because I am the one creating this hairstyle and I have MY chart, and much more important, the chart of the moment which it turns out is ideal.
The chart of the haircut, when her appointment begins, has Gemini rising and Uranus on the midheaven, appearance and public function, resonating with a second look and a sci-fi flavor. Sun, Mars, Mercury are in the 10th in Pisces, favoring the hands-on creation of a public illusion. Neptune conjuncts the Uranian midheaven; to be successful this haircut must look like a character in a science fiction movie!
The 6th house Scorpio Moon sextiles the 8th house Capricorn Venus. What she needs here will likely also please. Will this look last for her? It’s possible as Saturn trines that ascendent. It may require some tweaking, though, eventually, as Saturn is widely squaring that Venus. I intend to take plenty of time, take it slowly, so that we end up with something that she likes.
Am I up to the job? The transiting Moon trines my Sun-Mercury; I feel good about it. Transiting Sun-Mars-Mercury trines my 3rd house Mars. I have the chops to make it happen.
Presumably she picked this date and time without screening the astrology. Do you plan important dates around astrology, or do you trust in the universe to deliver without your input?

Wow! Just yesterday I was researching event charts. I think they are just fascinating. I hope you continue to do more of these! What do you think you would look at to see the evolution, or current themes, of a particular event,? The transits or progressions, maybe? It probably serves no real purpose to monitor the future transits or progressions for a hair cut, but maybe for like a job interview, or the first day of a new job, or something like that?
I don’t do event charts, I trust my gut. It probably helps that I can’t interpret an event chart to save my skin, man.
oh man… I am planning on cutting my long curly hair quite short on March 4, perhaps should look up the chart!
Whenever I’ve chosen a date for something based on astrolgy, the Universe has always let me know that her plans are more important than mine. So I don’t bother anymore. She’ll show up at the party when she damn well pleases.
No, I’ve never done an event chart, but it’s very interesting that you did for this haircut and am fascinated! What a FUN request to do! I like the haircut too- too bad I got curls and could never pull it off.
Satori- I hope you post a pic of the haircut when your done!! *hint.hint*
That’s really cool, satori!

also, why did I look at the chart for a haircut? this is a REALLY important piece in creating a story in her life. it goes beyond the realm of a normal haircut. even on days with the WORST skies I do good hair. I don’t feel like I need to prepare based on the sky because I naturally adjust based on experience. here, though, I felt the increased element of importance was worth accommodating.
