Are You A Micromanager?

Astrology in real life

Having some emphasis on Cardinal planets, I ought to be able to run to business. I wouldn’t say I crave the experience but I do manage to be a manager around here.

If you wonder what I’d prefer, I really enjoyed working independently for a large company. I enjoyed the safety net and the support but avoided having someone breathe down my neck.

This is probably what I keep my hands off people around here.  I try to tell them what I have learned in 10 years of blogging and 20 years of consulting; I tell them I have their back but that’s about it.  I can’t think of a worse way to spend my day then being concerned with how someone else is eating, drinking, thinking or working.

I think is because the Cardinal planets in my chart are Jupiter flavored.  I want broad freedom when it comes to my job, so naturally offer the same to people I work with.

Are you a micromanager? Can you see the tendency in your chart?

I tend to “play my part” which means that I manage myself and my role whatever it is. When I choreograph I manage my dancers and make sure all are doing their part. When I’m dancing and when I was performing I would concentrate on my part and leave the rest to themselves, I did not try to manipulate my audience. When I sang I sang with all stars, grammy winners so holding down my own part was the most I could manage. I’ve never been accused of “mircoing” anything really.

I would add, Elsa, that you and I were raised to do our thing and not judge others for their thing unless it got into our personal space.

I don’t have a micro-managing bone in my body, I don’t think. But possibly, it’s just because details bore me to tears. Can’t see the trees for the forest.
Well, except in my own work. I can micro-manage the hell out of myself.
I think it is Jupiter. Just give me the big picture. :)

Nope. I’m big on delegation. I hand stuff off all the time. And, it is odd, because people just DO THINGS for me without me even asking. For example, every time I’ve ever moved house, I’ve had to do almost none of the lifting, because someone, or multiple someones, just show up and do the work for me without me even asking them to. It’s odd. I do have a packed 8th house, though? So, that’s other people’s resources, yes?

Elsa, I am a lot like you. I’m self-employed and am fairly good with contract work. However – when someone tells me what to do or breathes down my neck (Or thinks they can art direct me when they have absolutely NO knowledge and training in design), I have issues with it.

“I got your back but you gotta let me do my job.” That’s my thing.

And yes. I’m quite cardinal. Aries sun/asc, Cancer moon. I also have a Capricorn MC.

Absolutely not a micromanager. I have no Virgo.

My chart ruler Jupiter is in my 6th House (I’m thinking micromanaging=details) but it opposes Neptune and is trine my 10th House Pluto. I’m good at accumulative knowledge but long ago relinquished any desire to really put that to use. Maybe I should:)

I also have Uranus/Midheaven. I like independence in the workplace (this is reflected in my current choice of employment).

I don’t mind people who pay attention, or pay attention to detail, but I hate interfering with how others do their job. Uranus doesn’t care, unless you are endangering others or ruining business through bad decisions. Other than that–fill your boots!

I am not a micromanager and I can’t stand to be micromanaged!

I need lots of freedom in the world of work. Aquarius on my 6th, Uranus in my 2nd trining my Gem midheaven

At home do I micromanage? Guess you’d have to ask the Taurus :)

In life and work, and out in the world (so to speak), not a micro-er. Sadge MC all the way and Jup/ Uranus 7th.

However, Merc Cancer 4th, Cancer Sun, Pluto Virgo 6th, and all my Cardinal makes me a Micro-mama…pets included. I try to stop it, but it’s truly hopeless. Not proud of it. It just is what it is.

Oh, and my kid has Aqua moon and Sadge rising. Drives her up a wall. Hell, it drives me up a wall!

Oh, at home? I don’t micromanage here, either. I have a very long to-do list today (I should get on it). But I am the QUEEN of my castle. Kicking out my roommate was the best decision I’ve made in a long while. Expensive, but hell has it been worth it.

Sorta off topic, I think “working independently for a large company” sounds like my ideal job. Hah, who knew?

I hate micromanaging, who needs to put that much effort into annoying people?

My favourite saying: God is in the details. I’m a micro-manager and a perfectionist–lots of Virgo and Gemini in my chart, cardinal rising, cardinal on every angle. Other people and their errors/incompetence/sloppy attitude drove me crazy so it was a huge relief when I started my own company. Now, when I hire other freelancers I pay more to hire the best so that I don’t have to micro-manage. I don’t micro-manage at home. Everyone chips in on their own initiative to help cook, clean, run errands, etc. so that’s never been an issue.

I manage myself quite well. I end up managing projects or defaulting to a position of some authority, because I do have that air about me. (Saturn rising)

I make a concerted effort, however, not to interfere with people or tell them what they should do, as that is not my job.

I was not always so enlightened *chuckle*

Cardinal T square in 2-5-8 that encompasses Mars Venus Uranus Pluto and Jupiter. I have control issues, deffo, but I work hard at keeping them to myself.

In the 2/3 years I worked for a company in publishing I had a team under me – varied from three to about twelve at one point. I mostly got to choose my own staff so all went well – I’m a good delegator and so long as they all performed, I told them what I wanted and left them to it.

But if they fell down on performance, I micro-managed the hell our of them as we had weekly deadlines to mean, and lost or even mislaid materials had severe repercussions which not only cost money and created serious glitches, but took a lot of my time and diplomacy to sort out

I prefer to be a freelancer working on contract, form job to job. Insecure, but saves a load of grief! I don’t like having to come on the heavy boss

l know l can manage people and lead them but it’s more by giving advice. l need independence in work. Watching people work or making sure they do it, it’s stressing me out! l don’t feel it’s the job for me. l know what l have to do and l try to do it in my own weird ritm.
l can tell them this is what l need and let them do it, give help support if needed and that’s it.

I’ve got Uranus in my 10th house, so I do best on my own… Which is one reason I love working behind the scenes here! Not only do I not liked to be micro-managed, I don’t even like to be managed, period! ;-)
