Reality Check 2011 – The Economy And Various Other Sundries
Astrology in real life
This is a 2011 topic for the Colosseum but I want to at least flirt with some of this stuff at large, risky as it may be.
It’s my contention that all the fake stuff we thought we saw when Jupiter was conjunct Neptune is going to fall now, or erase. The veil will drop, the backlash will arrive, reality will emerge, etc.
Reality is pretty gross when you look at it in comparison what you can see with your rose-colored classes. But it you compare reality to reality it neutralizes it.
Basically you realize it was always this way, you’ve just been dreaming. Everyone knows that feeling. You wake up like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz and there you are in your black and white bedroom.
There are endless examples of events that indicate we are now leaving dreamland and I thought I’d present one of them in regards to one of the readers here, denamaria, who is a friend of mine.
denamaria works in the court system as a translator. She’s very good at her job, she’s very caring. When I met her, she was well-liked and the job was stable.
Some months ago she was abruptly fired. No money in the budget. It was completely shocking and being mega-Capricorn, she recovered in about 24 hours.
Yep, within 24 hours she was working freelance as an interpreter in the courts. She was able to play on her good reputation, calling all her contacts (attorneys) who hired her to work on their dime rather than for the government. This required her to travel more so there was some loss but still… she had a job.
6-9 months later, denamaria no longer has a job. No one wants to pay for an interpreter. Everyone is making less money so they are cutting back. So what does this mean?
It means if you are going to court and you don’t speak, English, you better bring your own interpreter or you’re going to be screwed.
Now compare that (reality) to the days now ending where we catered to whatever minority. We as a collective can no longer do this.
I write stuff like this not to piss people off but to warn them, the writing is on the wall here and hopefully you’ll read it.
Scream and burn buildings, stomp your feet and make signs; there is still no money to pay denamaria to stand in court and speak for you and the best attitude to take is probably, it was nice while it lasted. Then realize it is gone now, so what are you going to do instead?
Pluto in Capricorn, bay-bee.
Anyone else running smack into reality out there?

Not running smack into reality (thanks to the good advice you gave me in a consultation that I had the sense to listen to!). However, I am truly seeing certain situations and individuals with new eyes. When you talk about the veil dropping, boy howdy, is that appropriate. I look at these situations and, for the life of me, I can’t fathom what I was thinking or see what I was seeing. This awareness has all taken place in recent weeks; it’s like I have woken up, just like Dorothy, and just in time. Sheesh. No idea about the societal implications of the reality check, but I am experiencing it first-hand in a very personal way!
I used to have a very rosy outlook towards life and then came Pluto in Sag opposing my Sun in Gemini and I could no longer be innocent.
What? If I fall off a 300 foot building I might die? I always thougth I could fly. Lol. What? I can’t beat my teacher over the head and force her to give me at least a C on my test? You see? Reality. Sigh:. Saturn.
I learned to fear with Pluto opposing Sun, but I also learned that I had capabilities I didn’t know I had!

Yeah I’ve run into reality – a house fell on me LOL.
Pluto still conjuncts my Neptune(1st) and I cannot hide in my unconscious any longer.. I have separated the wheat from the chaff and now its time for me to make some bread!!
The reality for me is in order to work in Mental Health, I need my Masters… I started a Masters program but never finished. So whether I like it or not, if I really want to make good bread, I gotta go back & finish what I started..
It is not a reality check. It is about values. There is plenty of waste in govt. However, translators in courts are not a wasteful expenditure. Someone in her state unwisely thinks that if some poor schmuck goes to jail due to his lack of English, it is a price the dumbass legislator is willing to make.
This is a hot legal issue and you can expect some state will get its ass sued for this type of conduct very soon. The Brennan Justice system did a pretty good study of the failure of some states to provide translator. So the State is actually wasting money. They will be paying their attorneys, who cost more than translators to defend their actions in court.
Anyone who thinks that translators in court are a waste of money, should go to another country and be tried without understanding the language. One of the most critical elements of our constitution and legal system is that no one can lose their liberty without due process. This isn’t about the minority getting its way. It is about having a legal system where everyone gets due process.
In my state, there isn’t a translator onsite at our little county courthouse, but if someone needs a translator, it is scheduled and a translator is available by the telephone. This cuts back on waste.
Sorry Elsa, I disagree. There will always be enough money to provide justice. Yes, we need to eliminate waste at every level of govt. Why don’t we start with those millions that a single Senator from Alabama is requiring to be paid to contractors in his home state for a defunct NASA program.
There is nothing to disagree with, flip. This has happened. *I* didn’t do it. I am just reporting it.
Best wishes to Denamaria, my thoughts are with her.
As for justice, there is no money for justice. I’m truly afraid of where the guns will point when the average joe realizes that the court system hasn’t exactly been upholding the rule of law lately.
Saturn squares pluto in my chart and pluto is still conjunct my sun/merc. Reality check is the story of my life.
The no translator in court thing is a can of worms that will blow up in some one face in the long run.
They can give rich people a tax cut but they cant ensure a poor person is not rail roaded in court. Just goes to show who the rich people that make the laws look out for. Our system of government is run by the rich for the rich. People who believe otherwise are misguided.
Thanks toomuchpluto- I have Saturn Square pluto in a grand cross with mercury and moon. I never thought of it as a reality check before, but now…Wow… OUCH! Right now Pluto in Cap is conjunct my ascendant. I can feel all that. Could be worse. I have quite a few friends in the last degree of Pisces, where Nep/Jup are leaving. They were flying high for quite a while, but now it’s back to work, except there is no work.
((denamaria))
pluto in 9th house. jesus, what is going to happen to me in this foreign land. i just renounced my birth religion and still find meaning out of this insanity. we are currently planning to build a business here hope things will be ok as hoped. happy new year to every one. not
cheers, elsa! glad to see you online. miss this blog. been in hibernation for a awhile. hoping for the best the next year
Flip, I agree, and see this in many other areas, like health care, pensions, and social supports. Vast sums are being wasted or stolen from the people and as the birds come home to roost, the people are going to wise up and rise up.
On the plus
side, another astrologer recently said, it’s the end of ‘reality’ tv!
It just is what it is….people are cutting corners everywhere and our state budget is in deep crisis. The other side of this is that many hispanics are learning English very quickly (good thing) and so they are also declining the use of an interpreter even when one is available and in court.
Many attorneys who speak basic Spanish are also interpreting for their clients and sadly many district court judges don’t really know or understand how our role plays in the court system. I have also worked many mediations that go back to May and still have not been paid by the State….not good.
so, I will be venturing out into something else this New Year and I am excited because when one door closes, another opens!
(((denamaria))) I have a friend who is a freelance interpreter for the same court system denamaria works in..I know what is happening and the pathetic situation our state budget is in..
Good Luck with your future venture..
I’m sorry, denamaria. It sucks to have to head in a different direction after doing something for years.
We are seeing Pluto in Capricorn stuff happening up here, too. I work for a call center based out of Colorado, which has recently closed many of its American sites and opened new ones in the Philippines, Guatemala and Costa Rica. The site I work in is the last one open in Canada and will likely close in the next year, according to the site director. She is trying to find new clients, but it doesn’t look good. I’m making plans to go back to school and get my BSW/MSW (it was never a career goal of mine to work in a call center) but there are a lot of people working there who don’t have a lot of options.
(((denamaria))). Hope you are well. You are so resourceful.Like you, I have a lot of Capricorn. I just hope I handle change as well as you have. I will lose my government contract at the end of March. In aw y I feel as you do, that another door will open. It is a heavy area that I work in so a change will be good. Having said that my previous job was all about death and dying. Oh, never mind.. Happy New Year everyone. I’m off to the pub.
(((denamaria)))
YES I am–my computer died and I have told myself, no I am NOT reaching for the credit card. I’m going to live without my own computer, like billions of other people on the planet do, until I feel I can afford another.
I was also planning on quitting university to go back to work fulltime but realized the free therapy and dental insurance I get as perks for being a student will keep me there, at least until April….when the Aries planets happen, then BAM! I’ll need my mind and my teeth for that;)
Denamarie and Elsa,
Thank you for the story of reality checking in. I have read your comments over the while Denamarie and hear the Capricorn in your genes.
We, all of us, are in this boat together. Learning to recognize the cracks and dealing with them is a very Saturn thing to do: don’t like the speed bumps? thing is much of the journey at this are speed bumps.
Attending to the cracks and aligning with people who ‘know’ you and support you and vis-versa that is what we are up to at the moment. We are old already, and there’s still more to learn and more mortar to apply to the cracks.

I can’t help but express how much of a Dorothy of the Wizard of Oz, I’ve come to be! With Mars conjunct Saturn in Virgo in 7th and Jupiter conjunct Pluto in Libra in 8th house.
‘Cruelty’ in relationships becomes an understatement.
