Man, it was a day.

I fired a client, raised prices in my web business, did site updates, answered email, did Tarot and shopped for Christmas. And still plenty to do! Geez. Good time to make sure the work I’m doing is working for me, I think.

Today’s Tarot is the Eight of Pentacles, upright today. Associated with Sun in Virgo, it’s not hard to see the theme. Known as “the apprentice card,” you’ll see it frequently to indicate a program of vocational study, a new job or new responsibilities at an existing job. Work issues are going well and progress is made through thoughtful, dedicated practice.

An Eight of Pentacles approach would have you always looking for ways to excel. The focus is on learning, improving, moving forward. With each swing of his hammer, the apprentice becomes a little more skilled at the vocation he’s undertaken. That focus produces increasingly exacting results. The person who wants to grow looks for opportunities to rise, not excuses to remain stuck. To work this energy, you have to evaluate outcomes and make corrections as needed. You also have to know what you’re going for to get there.

This was a nice card to see today. Even though I haven’t got it all figured out, I’m moving forward. I’m doing what I need to do and learning along the way, y’kno?  I’m happy with that.
