Astrology Meets Tarot

IMG_0476When I read Elsa’s forecast for today, I heard Veruca Salt in my head. I’m  certainly not a Veruca Salt archetype or anything, but I can relate some days… Mercury butts heads with my Saturn, so my brain runs on an ongoing push-pull model. Too-much/not-enough about everything out of my mouth and some days, I just want to skip to the chase. I’m mostly used to it and compensate. But it requires energy to manage and and occasionally, the containment field cracks.

Today’s Tarot is "Ripeness" inverted from Osho Zen, aka the Nine of Pentacles. Astrologically, this card is associated with Venus in Virgo, suggesting beautiful (Venus) mind (Virgo). The traditional rendition often appears when someone is look at education, study, or some form of mastery that often leads to financial (Venus) progress.  Inverted, I’m thinking learning curve. This version specifically smells of lacking patience.

For a while, people used to blame the internet because "today’s youth" (spoken in dismissive baritone) has no attention span. I always wondered if the people saying that had ever met any kids. Seriously. If it’s something a kid cares about, they are up to their necks in attention span. Tell me a kid that just played Final Fantasy X-Whatever for 16 hours straight has no attention span, and I’m gonna laugh at you. If kids or anybody else isn’t patient, it’s because they have the option.

What your expectations are–of yourself, of others, of timelines and payoffs and costs and benefits—is all yours to set. There’s no way it could possibly be anything other than your responsibility. So if your pursuits consistently aren’t getting ripe, maybe you’re trying to hop-skip over a chunk of the learning curve. Try the long way.

There are plenty of times I have to remind myself some things just take awhile, you know? If I’m not sure, can I set it back until it’s clearer? Time and learning curves are part of life. You can take a Venus in Virgo approach and appreciate the beauty of the natural order. If you bail before you’ve had the opportunity to integrate, you’ll miss the best part of the experience–the experience.

Are you patient? Got astrology to back it?

I am soooo patient that I will spend hours trying to find a place. You see, I’m dyslexic and my sense of direction sucks big time. I’ve been lost in places I’ve been lost before in and I’ll say, “I recognize this place! I’ve been lost here before!”
:P

The nine of pentacles is a beautiful card. Reversed it’s a slowed down but fruitful process. I love the bird on the lady’s finger image but upside down it makes me think the bird’s gonna fall off. LOL!

Have a great morning, Dixie!!

Be Blessed!!

I’ve got mars in the 1st, conjunct my asc & mercury, patience is something that I’ve had to LEARN! My choice on whether it’s learned the hard way or the easy way. I’ve choosen both on different occasions and been shown all the ins and outs of what would have worked better (if any). So when I hear “be patient”, yeah, it’s annoying, but I’m trying.

I have a lot of patience, but it seems it applies to my overall goal, I mean I’m very patient in reaching my life objective in a way. At work too, I see the day to day, but also the global objective, which requires to yield results to be patient and enduring – I mean I worked in a company 8 years and for me that was meaningful because it took that much time to transform the company. I think this aspect is linked to my Sun in Taurus which is sextile Mars and sextile Saturn. I can be patient, I won’t give up, I know takes time and work to reach a set goal. Mars trine Saturn?
For the day to day aspects, I can be quite impatient (moon in aries) and I like stiumlation and things to go quick (Mercury in Gemini in House 5), I like learning, but again I will only be able to give my attention to what I like and enjoy!! But I’m definitely going to stay put and patient. Of course if it were possible to condense and learn astrology in a few months it would be great, but I know it will take me at least the next 10 years to integrate and gain the “experience”.
